I have so many great things to say, so to keep it short I'll bullet point. - Great location/community - Private - Friendly and responsive hosts - Clear instructions and tour - Clean and comfortable - Felt very welcomed - Also a bonus of a cat that sounds like a sheep :) Planning to go again, later this year. Would highly recommend

we had a lovely break at the foxes den shepherds hut . The views are amazing and the area is beautiful . everything was as explained by Viki and it couldn't have ran any smoother. Our Shepherds Hut was Very Clean and beautifully decorated and the Easter Eggs were a lovely touch. We will certainly be back and would reccomend to anyone who wishes to explore the beautiful Devon countryside and Coast line.

We didn't want to return home as we had had the perfect stay. This lovely little shepherd's hut surrounded by beautiful farmlands, was just what we'd hoped for and it didn't disappoint! Our hosts Peter and Rachel, were very responsive to our needs, although, gave us our privacy and let us explore the surrounding areas. The hut had lots of little touches to it that made it feel homely and cute, although, functional and great use of a small space. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the hut had heating, wifi and a range of options on the tv after a tiring day of adventures! Excellent stay, would absolutely return, thank you! We really enjoyed our stay. The hut has beautiful surroundings which we enjoyed from the hot tub. We walked to a cafe and then drove into the local town and went to a really nice pub. The hut was clean and had everything we needed. Thanks Fiona 😊

Last minute Valentine get away with our two dogs. Despite pretty grim weather, you couldn't have wished to be anywhere cosier. Surprisingly spacious and everything you could think of, provided for a weekend away. Basic breakfast foods provided and of course Juliet's famous delicious short bread and doggie welcome treats.Private garden space adjoining a wood and secure field. Dogs roamed and played freely and safety. Bring lots of dog towels if you expect rain. Lovely shower in the cabin. Very well designed compost in a separate cabin. We kept close for dog exercise but there seems plenty of options for walking.. especially to pub...It's between 40 to 50 minute walk away. So many birds. We had such a lovely stay in the Shepherd's hut! so peaceful! The outside bath was a real treat as well as the yummy fruitcake waiting for us when we arrived. Bed was super comfy. We were sad to leave. Thank you Be and Richard.

We had a great stay, was relaxing and a great location for walks, sightseeing etc. Mandy and Andy both very friendly and helpful. Would recommend booking ahead for any local pubs/restaurants as they are few and far between within a 10-20 min drive and busy at weekends/peak times, also bring a 12v charger for charging within the hut otherwise there are 3 point plugs 100m across the yard which can be used.

Thankfully we bumped into Sally’s neighbour who walked us to the site. ( we ended up becoming friends with them!) The accommodation wasn’t very clean, but it was well stacked with everything we needed and more. Beds and pillows were terrifically comfortable. Bath was heaven, evenings and mornings were paradise. Loved eating al fresco and the site contained everything to make us relax. A special thanks for bread, REAL coffee! Eggs, butter and milk! We loved it and would love to return. Just more attention required to housekeeping!

FANTASTIC!! Our favourite stay on Airbnb. This is the perfect getaway for couples looking to relax in beautiful surroundings. Nikki is a great host and goes above and beyond to ensure a first class stay. The shepherds hut has everything you could need for a weekend away and impressive in all its small details from storage, to plenty of wood for the fires ( even details on ways to set up the logs came in really helpful) A great welcome pack with local walks, beaches and places to eat, offers some real hidden gems. We got to enjoy the new edition of the hot tub on this visit and it was a lot bigger than we expected on the photos. Easy to keep warm and holds the heat really well. We cannot recommend Travis enough and we already can’t wait to return!

A great place to stay and explore Dartmoor. The views from the hut are amazing and the hut itself is a fun experience. Simon is a delightful host and always quick to help out - Thanks for a fantastic stay!

We stayed at Elmhut for the weekend and had a really lovely time. The hut itself was private, spotless, nicely decorated and in beautiful gardens and surrounding areas. The hut and hot tub were very private and very peaceful for a relaxing weekend. Jessica was a great host, very responsive to any messages and provided lots of information on surrounding areas, places to visit and eat etc. The instructions and welcome book left by Jessica was very helpful too! We would definitely visit again!

We had such a lovely stay at the hut. The place was clean and tidy. It’s such a great location and so quiet. We would definitely stay again next time we’re in the area. Georgina was such a lovely host, always very responsive to questions we had. Would definitely recommend staying.

We’ve now stayed at both of Jan’s shepherds huts and they are both fantastic! It’s the perfect Devon getaway base and is well equipped for having cosy nights cooking in and bbq’ing around the fire pit. Comfy beds and always immaculately cleaned, would highly recommend staying here! The location is great for exploring surrounding beaches and Dartmoor, plus picturesque villages with lovely pubs. Nothing however beats spending nights at the shepherds hut with a bbq, fire pit and taking in the beautiful views!

We recently stayed at Andreas Shepherd's Hut in Cruxton, and it was a delightful experience. Nestled in a serene rural setting, the hut offers an idyllic escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The accommodation was charmingly rustic yet comfortably modern and the interior was well-appointed with thoughtful touches that made it feel cosy and welcoming. The bed was really comfortable and the small kitchenette was equipped with everything needed for a self-catering stay which we made the most of both mornings and evenings. The hut's location was perfect. Surrounded by apple trees and rolling hills, it's ideal for leisurely walks, relaxing outside with the fire pit or enjoying the private space alongside the river. The lack of light pollution in the area allowed us to view the Milky Way when stargazing one evening which was the perfect addition to our stay. Andrea was super accommodating, ensuring that everything was in order and even dropped off a homemade Dorset apple cake!

We spent a fabulous two nights at "Lucy ". The hot tub was great, we were lucky to have one clear night to star gaze. The area is fantastic with the York Inn a short walk away with lovely food. the hut had everything we needed, super cosy . We nearly finished the jigsaw!

Lovely peaceful setting. Great view. Walks straight from the hut. Hot tub was great after a long walk. Loved meeting the goats. Clive was a great host. The app had all the info you would need and was especially helpful when arriving as it contained photos of exactly where you were going which was very helpful as the hut is tucked away down a lovely track access that you would be nervous was the correct one if you didn’t have the directions. Great stay would love to return.

I had the best few days at Sallys shepherds hut. It was exactly as described (in fact, probably more roomy than I thought it would be!) Paddy showed me around when I arrived and I could contact them both if I needed anything. The hut had all the essentials that I needed and being able to park right next to it was really helpful. A few days away for some peace and quiet was just what I was after and it absolutely delivered. My spaniel loved the field to run around in too, just opening the door in the morning to let him run outside was nice. The weather wasn’t the best (very rainy) but to come back and light the fire to warm up was great and the hut holds heat well, I wasn’t cold at all. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back and I’d highly recommend it. Perfect location for hikes, getting to the beach and some lovely pubs in the village for dinner. The copper kettle is great for breakfast too! I didn’t want to leave! Thanks again Sally and Paddy for everything.

We had the most perfect stay in the beautiful shepherd's hut, surrounded by stunning scenery. Chloe is such a lovely and kind host, and her thoughtful touch with the breakfast hamper was greatly appreciated. My partner, Amy, and I had an unforgettable time on our very first getaway together as a couple. The hot tub was an absolute highlight, and we loved cozying up around the fire pit. This is the ideal romantic retreat, offering all the luxuries of the countryside. We can't thank Chloe enough for such an incredible experience, and we’ll definitely be back! Highly recommended for anyone seeking a peaceful and romantic escape. Steve and Amy

Wow what a special place. Dreamy hot tub and outdoor fire. The hut is decorated like a luxury hotel, lots of small special touches - fire wood to make a fire; board games to play, bath robes and slippers. We had the truly magical two nights away - perfect for some romantic time. We nipped into Wells on Saturday for the market (bus/car less than 10 mins) picked up lots of treats then enjoyed a lazy Saturday evening back at the hut under the stars. Lou was fantastic host, she helped set up the hut for my girlfriend’s birthday before we arrived which was incredibly kind and much appreciated.

Clare and Luca have created a unique space to unwind in nature. It’s private with plenty of space to enjoy inside and out. It was a special treat having a wood-fired hot tub and pizza oven and all the little details made everything extra enjoyable.

Thank you for a great stay! it is definitely the best stay we have had. It is the perfect set for a gateway to enjoy the birds signing, walks, wood burner with board games & bbq etc. everything you need is provided and it is the most relaxing place, out the way, super private. its exactly like having your own forest. can't wait to go again.

Gorgeous stay at the Shepards Hut, the hut is beautifully decorated and has everything you need for the space! We loved the hot tub and were provided with enough wood to keep it warm all evening. Absolutely gorgeous location, super peaceful, the perfect getaway for our anniversary!

A beautiful shepherds hut, very neatly laid out with everything we needed. The Church House Inn was an easy walk away and highly recommended. A perfect weekend.
