"The Mad Men Beach House" was a great place for my family (2 adults/2 toddlers) to stay. There was enough room for us all to have our own beds (or cribs in the case of our two year olds) and our own bathrooms (two full baths). We used the grill once, which was nice, and used the kitchen a handful of times throughout our week long stay. Everything in the house was well taken care of and as clean as you would expect, considering Rebecca allows dogs in the beach house. Our dog was comfortable in the house with plenty of room to lay around. He especially enjoyed laying around on the covered porch next to the water. That's probably the best feature of the house itself - it is in a community where every home has a dock right next to the Bay. You are a little far away from the big part of the Bay (if you're kayaking), but the inlet gets much bigger as you kayak out and there's plenty of room to float around and enjoy the sun. We were visited by a mother duck and her five ducklings, and some cool looking horseshoe crabs. The place is only a few minutes drive from the beach/oceanfront. If you have kids, I would not plan on walking to the beach unless you have a wagon or something like that. Too much lugging of stuff and humans for being almost a mile from front door to toes in the sand. However, we never had a problem finding parking on 130th/129th right next to the beach, for free. The amenities are nice - big pool and a kiddie pool, and some other stuff we didn't have time to check out. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, including places for breakfast (Uber Bagels was pretty good) and dessert (Justine's Ice Cream and Dumsers are closeby, but Venderweres, I think, is only a few minutes drive to Fenwick Island and it was the best ice cream of the trip). If you want to hit the boardwalk, Fish Tales, Seacrets, etc., it isn't that far. You can get just about anywhere in Ocean City from this place in 15-20 minutes. Overall, we had a great time and we would definitely stay again!

Absolutely the best location in Portsmouth! Charming home with interesting history. A very short walk to great Portsmouth attractions, the waterfront, ferries to Norfolk, etc. Highly recommend Cathy’s place for your stay.

What a great place to stay. It may be the oldest home in Cape Charles, but you’d never know it! Everything was up to date with all the comforts of home, and charm to match the town. Comfortable beds, super kitchen and dining area, and a nice family room to spread out. First floor bedroom is perfect is anyone has trouble navigating the steep stairs to the second floor. It had just snowed and was cold outside, but the house was warm. Couldn’t really use the porch, grill, or golf cart, but would love to come back in the summer. Joseph was easy to communicate with and responsive. Highly recommended!

If I could give 6* I would. Not having been in this area was like driving into somewhere like Beverly Hills. The added bonus of a pristine beach less than 100m walk away. To our surprise the beach was. It without sightings of multiple dolphins each visit. The house itself was extremely cosy. Good communal areas. Gym room outside along with a large deep jacuzzi that was always hot on entry. The house was surprisingly larger inside than the photos actually show. Multiple spaces for up to 4 cars infront of the house. The locals were all very polite even to the point that our next door neighbour knocked on the door to explain which way to leave the bins. I would recommend this place to anyone and will 110% come here again. The access and positioning as close as the house is to the beach is amazing. Thank you so much. 6* ;)

We met Sabrina upon our arrival and she was very kind and caring and made us feel right at home. We were present with a lovely home to stay in and enjoy our family. Thank you, Sabrina.

Had a great time during our stay. It was large enough for our group to spread out into our own spaces, but there was also a great communal area for us to hang out. Kitchen had everything we needed. No problems encountered during our stay. Would definitely recommend!

Denise and her dog Murphy were incredible host. The air bnb was comfortable and relaxing, Denise really goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable. Provides coffee, water, and light breakfast options. Really was a relaxing stay and there was nothing better then waking up and getting into the pool. 100% recommend

Ms. Marcea was an excellent host! She checked on me to make sure I had everything I needed throughout my stay. Being here for a month, she would occasionally drop off some goodie bags, fruits and veggies and a sweet treat!! I work nights and had NO trouble sleeping. The house is quiet, the apartment is private, and I would certainly come back and stay! Thanks so much, Marcea!!!

He was very flexible with check in and was polite and respectful. The place was beautiful and just a few minutes from the ocean.

My room was not only extremely clean, but was also in an adorable, convenient area as well. The check in message was very informative and I had no trouble getting into my room. The other people staying in the building were respectful and quiet as well. Will definitely be staying again!

Upon check-in we were welcomed with the friendliest hotel staff I’ve ever met. They offered us local discount cards to use at restaurants during our stay, and provided us with all of the information we needed for our stay. Xiaoming was always fast with his responses and was very helpful. The resort was spotless and had a comfortable atmosphere, and the sky lounge is most definitely worth the visit! We were provided with complimentary breakfast, a beautiful view, and even a free raffle entry during our breakfast. The room was spotless and the hotel staff were very accommodating. Overall this will be my go to spot to stay during my trips to VA beach from now on, absolutely perfect!

Lovely carriage house on large and private property, very quiet and peaceful. Nikki's home is elegant and delightful. When we arrived it was set up for our arrival with the most romantic and dreamy lighting with music, my husband and I were both delighted!! The apartment style carriage is well decorated with tasteful art and antiques. Nikki and her family were the perfects hosts, ensuring everything we (and our pups) needed during our extended stay. 100% would recommend to anyone traveling in the area, you will be well looked after by Nikki.

This was our second time staying here (different room) for my husband’s birthday weekend. Renovated in recent years, the white with black accent scheme makes everything feel very clean. Feels cozier than a standard hotel room, and the shower in the room we chose this time was huge. The Waverly tool also had a nice soaker tub. Fresh pastries from a local bakery were a perfect start to the day. Location is perfect, and it’s central to just about anything you’d want to do in VB. Great stay for individuals or couples visiting the area or just need a getaway.

mark was a wonderful host. He was very attentive to my needs as a guest and was also very sociable. His place has so much charm and personality - I could really fee the joy that eminated from it. Room was great and the bed comfortable, and I must say the backyard was kinda magical. 100% i'd stay again

Marnie and Steve’s AirBnB accommodation is clean, private, and secure. They made me feel at home. WiFi was strong, and I was able to work online as naturally as if I’d been in my own home office. They were helpful and friendly, but also respectful of my privacy. The dorm-sized refrigerator and microwave helped me save money on food, the twin bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom with shower was extremely clean and functional. I highly recommend this accommodation, and would stay there again.

We had an amazing stay at Susan's Victorian Candle Bed and Breakfast! The building was so cool and we loved the layout and the architecture. Susan was beyond accomodating, she even let us use one of her personal fans. Overall the place was nice and we slept very peacefully. The breakfast she made us in the morning was so amazing and we would have stayed just for that! You really get so much food and Susan is a fantastic cook! I was so full I felt fed the whole day! We talked with Susan and she shared some history about the place and her life and we really enjoyed her company. She even gave us a bottle of her own secret spice blend and let me tell you I will be buying some off her website for sure! All in all it was such a pleasant stay and we will absolutely be staying again. Susan is such a good soul and you can really tell by the love she puts into the place and hosting. 11/10 thank you Susan!!!

Beautiful home with interesting history & detail. Charlene & John were charming, welcoming, personable, attentive. It felt like staying with family. Breakfast was delicious! Definitely going to be my spot when visiting my daughter in the area!

Lisette was immediately available to meet us when we arrived. Our room was ready and in nice shape. This is our second stay at the B&B. Her Breakfasts are amazing - she always has a fresh fruit course, a main course and a sweet baked good. Yesterday was fresh pineapple with yogurt and granola, sauteed ham and eggs, glazed sweet role, coffee and juice. We did not go on our adventures hungry! Lisette and her husband made us feel like family and we enjoyed talking with them over breakfast. We will definitely be back. If you enjoy historic inns, this one will be a treat.

Incredibly kind hosts. The room was very convenient for walking to the beach and to the town. Very cool themed rooms and highly recommended!
