The house is by the lake in a quiet and comfortable residential area. If you don't have a car, it takes about a 10-minute walk to reach the nearest bus stop to get to downtown. The room is very clean and cozy, and the bed is especially comfortable. The only thing to note is that the curtains don’t block out much light, so a sleep mask would be helpful. The host, Thomas, is super friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend :)

Our daughter and our adorable grandkids live in Belmont. We usually stay with them but they had a basement flood and the room we usually use was being repaired. So we looked for someplace close and found Robin’s delightful apartment. Though we chose it for proximity, we couldn’t have been more pleased. It is lovely, quiet, comfortable and trulyfeels like a home, not a rental. We’ve stayed in many rentals over the years, but never before have we found a pantry and refrigerator so well stocked! Robin has obviously put a lot of time, thought and heart into making the apartment a warm and welcoming place to stay. Thank you again, Robin and Jon, for sharing your special home with us.

Sharon was extremely friendly! She went out of her way to find breakfast pastries for my food allergies! Super sweet! Wonderful space, private room and bathroom. We felt very at home and loved the neighborhood. Lovely drive to nearby areas like Newburyport and Salem. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a cozy home away from home.

Raj and Julia were very welcoming hosts and I had wonderful two weeks stay here. The home is sweet , warm and beautiful. The bedroom is comfortable. Even the kitchen and bathroom are full of sunshine. The house is a very good place to stay in Boston. I had a very good experience here. Highly recommended.

Hope was a great host to us! She greeted us at the door and made us feel truly at home. She was such a pleasure to talk to and she gave us great insight into the area and recommendations for our time in Salem. Her place was super cozy and unique. I would absolutely recommend for any one traveling to Salem to stay with hope!

It was a perfect weekend getaway for the three of us. The room was comfortable and we were able to play a board game in the common room before turning in. The hosts made good recommendations for stores and restaurants to explore which was appreciated. We’ll be back!

Christophers place was perfect for our stay! Comfortable and cozy. They were responsive and helpful. There were drinks and snacks out and a delicious breakfast! It was such a cool place!!

Very timely response once I booked. Someone was waiting outside at night and helped my daughter and I bring in our bags and gave us a tour and let us know some very helpful travel hints to Salem. Would recommend.

Peaceful and beautiful place to visit

This place is exactly what you would expect from a seaside bnb - it offers a great atmosphere and great location. John was a fantastic host, with tons of knowledge about the area. I would highly recommend staying here!

We loved our stay at the Compass Rose. We didn’t really interact or communicate with Christopher, but rather with the Innkeeper, Kim Carrasco. Our review is based on her interactions and response. She was welcoming and wonderful and easily reachable. Earlier that day, we were offered a different larger room that was available, so that was thoughtful and generous. The rooms were clean and quiet. We have a four-year-old and Kim was sweet and playful with him. Breakfast was delicious and homemade. We loved the location and enjoyed the company of the other guest. We would stay here again!

Super séjour court malheureusement !! Nous avions la chambre the great Roma avec la possibilité de garer la voiture dans l’allée. Il y a un patio extérieur très mignon et paisible. La déco nous met dans l’ambiance d’époque. La chambre sent très bon le linge aussi. Nous avons pu discuter avec les hôtes un soir au patio, notre anglais est à améliorer mais nous avons vraiment apprécié notre conversation et l’état d’esprit de nos hôtes. Nous recommandons vivement ce lieu mythique à Salem. Centre accessible à pied.

We came back to the Haskell House for a second time because we enjoyed our first stay so much. You can’t beat the Haskell House for historic atmosphere: you’ll feel as though you’re transported right back to the 1680s in this quiet spot. Though there was the comfort of a tv and a modern kitchen in the ell, as well as a lovely modern bathroom en-suite, we enjoyed talking by (electric) candlelight in our chamber and just enjoying the peace of the evening. We will be back again!

Loved our stay! The house was so warm and welcoming. The room was very cozy. We’d definitely stay again! I wish I would have taken pictures of the gorgeous dining space with the beautiful breakfast spread in the am which was a delightful surprise. It felt like staying with family. Flavia’s place was a great value for the location. The bed was very comfortable, the place was clean, and Flavia was kind and responsive to all our questions.
