Everything when very smooth nice quiet place to stay a lot attention I will stay again

The American Guesthouse is perfect for a visit to Adams Morgan, Kalorama, or Dupont Circle North especially if you are trying to avoid big chain hotels. It is in a charming historic home that provides quiet and privacy. The location is convenient to a number of neighborhoods, the National Zoo, and Rock Creek Park. The breakfast is outstanding, and Lucia is friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Checking in and out is a breeze. I will return and stay again the next time I visit Washington D.C.

This is our second year staying in this location and as we expected, Leslie and Jayson were friendly and accommodating (just like last year). The room/bathroom and house were nicely decorated and clean. It feels very comfortable there. We will definitely be booking our stay with them again next year.

Everything was just as advertised. Clean, comfy, good water pressure and hot water, nice clean bed linens and towels, and very quiet. Wonderful breakfasts and even homemade brownies! Lucia is very kind and thoughtful. Very responsive. I will definitely stay there again!

Very beautiful home and peaceful. The neighborhood was slightly tricky to navigate but absolutely beautiful. Loved getting some local recommendations of things to check out. Leslie & husband were friendly and responsive.

Fantastic host, hearty breakfasts, great location, interesting fellow guests and very comfortable spacious home more than made up for the European style shared bath. I recommend for a bed and breakfast experience that gives you a home in DC.

Can’t say enough how much we enjoyed our stay in Rick and John’s lovely home. From the moment we got into town they were so helpful and friendly- walked us through the house and showed us all of the rooms and amenities and introduced us to their sweet pups. The room we stayed in was so clean, cute and comfortable and they were very generous with sharing coffee, breakfast items, wine, drinks and snacks….we appreciated so much how hard they work to make their guests feel welcome. The neighborhood was just lovely, their yard (and many others) were filled with spring flowers and was walking distance from so many great restaurants and parks. So many personal touches…we woke to a sweet note inviting us to enjoy breakfast and another welcoming us to their home, and little Shelby and Scout were just so darn cute. A short drive brought us into the city and another to Mt Vernon…we had a lovely trip overall and hope to stay with them again next time we head to the DC area.

We had a lovely time! We rode the GAP and C&O Canal trails and ended in Georgetown - this was so close to Mile marker 0 and has a LOVELY French restaurant next door. We were able to celebrate our accomplishment (and my birthday) in a truly special way. Thanks again for having us!
