Absolutely gorgeous property. Comfortable beds and large bathrooms. It even smelled great when we arrived. We ordered the breakfast basket which was delivered with flowers and was so good. The bbq basket was also worth it. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

One of our last places to stay during our trip in NZ and again we are lucky! The beautiful view, the hot tub, the tranquility, stargazing at the deck in stargazing-rocking chaires, the enormous pampering with fish by hosts Vanessa and Steve and their lovely assistant Sandi who was always up for a pet. A lovely house on a beautiful location with beautiful bays and beaches for swimming and snorkeling, where Steve and Vanessa even had snorkels and diving goggles to borrow. We enjoyed it here!

I enjoying seeing how cleverly they'd arranged their almost off-grid life and some interesting conversation.

Ryan's place was amazing, he was really friendly, welcoming and very accommodating. He even offered to drive me to the liquor store when we ran our of booze. His place is perfect for a group of friends trying to blow off some steam. Star grazing is pretty awesome from his place on a no moon night. Kudos on the coffee machine. And the spa was just icing on the cake

Irma und ihr Mann sind wundervolle Menschen. Sie waren beide unendlich nett, gastfreundlich und offen. Wir haben uns von Beginn an wie zuhause gefühlt und konnten die Zeit dort sehr geniessen. Irma war immer für einen Schwatz zu haben und in der kurzen Zeit haben wir mit ihr viel gelacht. Beide haben sie uns viel von der Umgebung erzählt und diverse sehenswerte Orte empfohlen. Fals wir ein nächstes Mal nach Neuseeland kommen, werden wir uns gerne wieder für ein paar Nächte bei Irma einquartieren. Es war alles unglaublich toll!

The stay in the beautiful apartment, situated in a unique orange orchyard, was lovely. It is a clean, well equipped, modern apartment and it is very quiet with a lot of privacy. Its is quite close to the town centre and there are a lot of beautiful walkways, waterfalls and historic sites in the surroundings. Claes and Inga are very hospitable people, giving us some fresh fruits as we arrived. We loved our stay and we can highly recommend the apartment.

It was a very nice, relaxing stay in the wonderfully designed accommodation with the beautiful garden area. The hospitable Keri made it easy for me to feel at home the whole time. The very nice pool is a must, it makes the stay even more perfect. The location is a dream. The center is easy to reach and the many trails invite you to explore the beautiful landscape. I can recommend the accommodation without reservation.

We stayed at Clendon lodge for a weekend, and it didn't seem like enough time to appreciate the stay. The property was really beautiful and the studio itself was really clean and tidy. Sue gave us a very warm welcome. Will definitely go back here.

Our stay in Kawakawa at Maryanne’s was so peaceful and exactly what we needed. It was a great base to do day trips from, close to family and relaxing and quiet to return to after a long day of adventuring. The space was small but functional and exactly as described. Had everything we needed to be fully self sufficient and lots of lovely thoughtful touches, like the emergency red and being able to feed the cows. Wonderful!

Gorgeous! Well located, beautiful private cottage. You cannot go wrong booking with Steve, Dot and Charlie. Wish we had time to stay longer; will definitely return.

Superb little apartment - glorious view of sunrise over sparkling water. Sailboats bobbing on their tethers, cheeky air and land birds feeding and calling in the gardens at the edge of the deck. Comfy chairs positions with plenty of cushions and lap blankets to make the most of the setting evening sun on our backs. Bed was extremely comfortable, lovely bedding. Bathroom clean, spacious and very well appointed. Great BBQ, good 2 burner cooker, oven looked good but we didn’t use on this visit. Apartment was stuffed to bursting full of goodies to make use of - every drawer and the fridge filled with every implement/condiment/sauce/spice you might want to use. Manon and Neville were very generous, attentive hosts - thank you.

Wow. The Retreat certainly ticks all the boxes. Wonderful views over 2 stunning beaches. Amazing separate viewing deck with sun loungers to soak up the sun whist looking at that view. Luxury fixtures and fitting including thick fluffy towels and crisp white bed linen. Comfy beds and pillows Kitchen with all the kit to self cater including proper coffee machine. Quality outside sofas with thick cushions. 2 identical very private bedrooms with fly screens so the air flows at night, keeping the rooms cool and own large en suite bathrooms. Responsive friendly host. Best Airbnb we have stayed in for attention to detail. Thank you Angela

Shane and Kiki have created an awesome one-of-a-kind experience. We could feel the passion and creativity they have invested in this place. We wanted a true Kiwi experience and we felt like we were with friends. Shane is super enthusiastic about creating a space for people to feel welcome, have fun and connect with others. Kiki is so lovely and thoughtful, ex. filling up the water jugs in our fridge. At night, he set up the gazebo for us with lights, music & even a fire pit. We all loved roasting marshmallows & chilling on the bean bag chairs while chatting with other guests & watching music videos on the BIG screen. Since Shane was a DJ for many years, the playlist was awesome. The kids (10 & 13) loved running around and playing on the swings & with the cats. Since it's a private and safe property, we felt comfortable letting them roam. The icing on the cake was spinning the firesticks. Make sure to check out the digital guidebook he has made - it has so many LOCAL recommendations.

Ellen is an excellent host. Great communication at all times. Accommodation was perfect with no issues at all. Can highly recommend Ellen and her property!!

Great space and such friendly family. We stayed for three nights and it was great location for exploring the north. Cape R less than an hour and visit the Gumdiggers is a must. Everything was as Shane and Kiki describe. The gazebo are is fun in the evenings and a great space to chill.

The Chapel is absolutely fantastic! It was beautifully refurbished and has an incredible kitchen, a beautiful spacious bathroom and is so well equipped! Apparently a gourmet chef lived there and did the renovations, and it shows. There are two nice porches, one on either side with chairs to look out at the spectacular view. The Chapel also has a very unique and interesting history, which is provided there in a scrapbook so you can learn more about where you are staying, and the area in general. Bart was very friendly, knowledgeable, and interesting to talk with about both the chapel’s history, Māori and Polynesian culture. The Chapel has my highest recommendation! It is noted in the description here that it is remote. Pick up groceries before you come into the area because there are very little services once you get there. I would also make sure that you have a full tank of gas/petrol. Staying here is definitely worth the trip! Also take the ferry over to Rawene for a look around.

We were so comfortable; quiet, peaceful surroundings; well equipped kitchen with lovely surprise of duck and hens' eggs, organic milk, a variety of teas and regular and decaf coffee. Comfortable sofas and chairs with good back support. Great WIFI. Spotlessly clean throughout. Sister Irini and Prior Rob are warm, friendly people who make you feel part of the place. We won't forget our stay at this wonderful sanctuary. Highly recommend anyone needing a break from a busy daily life- you can really unwind here.

Spacious accommodation with a private terrace and facing the orange trees. We received a warm welcome and a great handbook with recommendations is provided. There are friendly dogs and three cute pigs that you can feed and that sit on command. It got a bit chilly at night, but there are enough blankets and the bed was very comfortable.

Overall a great stay! Took us a while to realise the couch folded out to a bed and there were a few spiderwebs/bugs but that’s a given. The views were stunning and the overall vibes were amazing. Loved the spa and basketball hoop. Thank you Shelly for being a great host!

All of us have used air b and b for years. This was the best ever!! Amazing location. Did not want to leave. The night sky is indescribable. A place to write, rest, photograph, converse, and get grounded. It is the ultimate. Russell is historical village with good food and small museums. Treaty grounds close by. Christine is a great host.

I booked this accommodation for my colleagues, and they loved it. It was the perfect place for what they needed while working away from home. A lovely and cozy spot with beautiful, peaceful surroundings and gorgeous animals. The communication with the hosts was excellent, and they were flexible with our needs. I would definitely book again in the future.
