I recently had the pleasure of hosting a staycation at Ashmi’s delightful home in Royston, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with the warmest of welcomes and a beautifully presented basket of goodies. It was filled with delectable local treats, indulgent chocolates, and even a bottle of milk to have a cuppa at the start of our stay. Accompanying this was a thoughtfully compiled book of recommendations, brimming with insider tips on the best local spots to explore—from quaint tearooms to scenic country walks. The house itself was absolutely immaculate, with a spotless kitchen that was a joy to use, and spacious, beautifully designed living areas where we could all relax and unwind. Every nook of the home exuded charm and comfort, ensuring that everyone felt right at home. The highlight for us all was undoubtedly the jacuzzi, a luxurious retreat that provided hours of relaxation and laughter under the stars. It’s soothing warmth!

The cottage is beautiful and was a bit of a tardis. The kitchen has everything you need. Bedrooms clean. The whole place was a big "wow" for us. We had a mother's and daughter's weekend. With one of our daughter's turning 30. (Myself and my daughter, my best friend and her daughter) We did find the cottage a little cold on our first evening, even with turning the heating up a little. However, it didn't spoil our stay and we had bought blankets with us. We werent successful in lighting the fire which I'd say in probably user error. Over all, a pleasant stay. Holly is great with communication. We'd love to stay again sometime.

We hired Ash Tree Barns as a short break for our extended family to celebrate an 80th birthday. It was perfect for our needs with plenty of space for everyone. The property was lovely and clean on our arrival and had everything we needed. We spent most of our time enjoying family catch-up time at the pool table, in the hot tub and in the gym. Even ‘Nanna’ had a go on the exercise bike! Jade was very easy to deal with and quick to respond to any of our queries. A great host and a lovely venue. Thank you.

Really nice stay. Amelia was really helpful and went the extra mile with everything. The yurt was great, and had an extra bed and cot in as requested. We had all we needed and more in a great location, the hot tub was lovely - we paid for the heat up service for when we arrived and it was still hot the next morning! My only criticism would be that due to staying in december, we couldn’t hang out our wet swim clothes/towels so they made the yurt smell damp where we tried to hang them up to dry & where it was muddy outside we were bringing it all in with us. But other than that it was an amazing stay and will definitely be back! Thanks Amelia!

Stayed here with 5 friends in March, Stuart’s place was lovely for a family get together. Plenty of space & very clean! Would really recommend

12 of us friends including children (and dogs) stayed for NYE for 3 nights and it was one of the best holidays ever. The house was perfect, clean, lots of room, everything you needed and fabulous location. Christina our host was lovely. She was always quick at responding to our questions and sent us a house pack before arrival which was so useful and had every info we could have needed. We are already planning our return. We had a lovely time at Sam's home. Myself and partner stayed with our 11 month baby, 2 year old, and 3 other family members. We all agreed that the good aspects of this home were VERY good and enabled us to have a brilliant time. The garden, pool and outdoor shower were the definite highlights of the stay. Inside the house was clean and the layout and space worked well for all 7 of us. As stated above, certain features of the stay were outstanding which is why we gave it 5 stars but there are a few aspects we felt could really take it to the next level. Not being able to flush toilet paper, electric bin not working, big crack in top landing window, bizarre food left in fridge, freezer and cupboards (beetroot in fridge, cat food in cupboards), door handle broken in downstairs bedroom leading to garden, dishwasher full on arrival, blinds not rolling down/up properly etc All things that are easily sorted and would ensure the same high standard throughout.

Really lovely place with a hot tub looking over the fields. Not as much light pollution as London so great to see the stars as well. We relaxed in the hot tub and ran/cycled along the cam (took bikes on train to water beach) and it was just a lovely way to spend the weekend. The bed is quite hard but otherwise the place was great. the honesty bar doesn’t seem to exist anymore. Would love to stay again

A beautiful lodge to spend Christmas with my family. The hot tub was an added bonus. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Christine was contactable if required and responded straight away.

A great place for a relaxing weekend. We thought the facilities were wonderful. The whole lodge was very clean and well equipped. The only downside we found was that there was no toilet upstairs, so if any improvements were made that would be the only thing we could suggest. This is definitely somewhere we plan to revisit.

The Firkin Lodge was as described and displayed in photos. John met us at our arrival time and walked us around the Lodge. he owns/runs The Bluebell Inn next door that has the classic pub feel with friendly locals as well as great food. he is a really lovely chap and will happily come back again.

We had the most amazing weekend away! The Springfield Cabin was even better than the photos, beautifully designed, spotless, and filled with so many thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the views were breathtaking. The hosts also took the time to show and explain to us how to use the wood fired hot tub which was incredible. Our hosts went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic stay, offering great local tips and quick communication. The location was ideal, peaceful and private, yet close to everything we wanted to see and do. The hosts also provided a binder with an extensive amount of information about the area and any additional info that would help us with our stay. We left feeling completely refreshed and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a perfect getaway! Thank you very much to Alex and Liz for making our stay a memorable one. We will definitely be returning in the near future!

I loved it so much I have booked to go again, disappointed that the prices are higher. However it was the perfect break that I needed.

Exceptional luxurious lodges built on a picturesque lakeside setting which encompasses breath taking views. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay, and I absolutely loved the hot tub, the spacious decking and all the amenities offered within the lodge itself. A big thank you for the Prosecco and goodies which we were greeted with upon arrival. Superb experience and would love to come again! Thank you so much!

We had an overnight stay here, and it was fantastic. The cabin was very cosy and clean. The hot tub was warmed up ready for us. All the staff on site were very friendly. The surroundings were so nice. We also ate in Hubbles, and it was lovely and really reasonable. We will definitely return.

We stayed at this beautiful lodge for a girls’ weekend to celebrate a 40th birthday, and it was absolutely stunning. The decor was stylish and welcoming, making it feel like a home away from home. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the peaceful location made it the perfect place to unwind. We all had an amazing time, and while there was no WiFi, it actually encouraged us to have more conversations and truly enjoy each other’s company—making the experience even more special. Overall, a fantastic stay, and we’d definitely recommend it!
