Our family loved staying here! The kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool and exploring the grounds finding lizards, snails and birds. The house was clean and spacious and the a/c and fans were appreciated! We hiked to Shipman beach from the house and it was well worth it - saw lots of huge turtles and enjoyed a quick swim before heading back. Highly recommend staying here!

Our small family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) loved our stay at Michael’s. We are already planning to come back ! Quiet area, with many hang out spots so we could be together when we wanted, and have space when we needed. The little pool was a big hit ! My girls and I were in it multiple times a day to keep cool. Great kitchen, well equipped with all you need. Huge TV for those rainy family movie nights. Lots of outdoor space for workouts, and looking for Geckos, Lizards and Chickens who happen to wander by. There is one of the nicest beaches I’ve seen close by - but it is a 60min committed walk in through amazing jungle on a very old chopped up cobble roadway that the ancestors used. It’s muddy - but well worth seeing the turtle refuge / spring water filled ocean bay at the end. Overall - I highly recommend this stay! It allowed us to soak up the Aloha in style.

Honestly Terrys place is such a piece of paradise. My family and I wanted to be off the beaten path, we felt secluded even with neighbors. There isn’t anywhere to enter the water but the views from the cliffs and porch were phenomenal! This side of the island is rainy and so very green! We drove all over the island going north and south! I would definitely come and stay again!! Felt like home!

This is a lovely quiet location close to Hilo and Volcano NP. We loved having the pool and the amenities of a well thought out home.

Beautiful home and wonderful host. We had everything we needed or could ask for. Mari was a perfect host answering any questions, providing many local recommendations and even met us at checkin to show us her home. The view was magnificent, opening the doors in the morning and sipping on coffee on the deck watching the sun rise was my daily ritual. It was a nice surprise to have chairs and snorkeling equipment available to us. Grocery and Walmart minutes away for quick pickup items. The must see sights were just 10-20 minutes away. We visited the caves, snorkeling in the bay, national park and the gardens.

Serene, spacious home with all the amenities for a private family getaway. The kids loved the pool, trampoline, and tree swing in the well maintained backyard. Neighborhood is peaceful and quiet, and the home is located within walking distance to cliffs with beautiful views of the ocean and sunrise. Michelle and Joe were great hosts - quick responses to any questions, and local recommendations. Joe even came by to crack open coconuts for the family! Will stay here again when visiting Hilo!

Susan's place in Kea'au is beautiful, convenient to Hilo and Volcano National Park, yet right on the ocean. Surrounded by the sights, sounds and smells of the ocean make this a great place to get away from the city.

Our family enjoyed our stay. It was like sleeping in a treehouse! Ocean views, beautiful sunrises, frogs singing at night, and so many stars. We had everything we needed and the hosts were very helpful with local tips. It was a magical stay!

Quiet neighborhood, both at night and during the day. That was pretty much all we were interested in, and it delivered. Slightly older house, so had good cross ventilation through louvered windows.

This property was heaven on earth, the grounds are more beautiful than most botanical gardens we’ve visited. We wished we had booked more nights, every person in our group loved the stay.

We came to Big Island to enjoy calm and recharge. Eliot's place offers just like that as his house is spacious and plenty of space between properties with peaceful surroundings. because the home sits in a large ground in suburb of Hilo. Downtown Pahoa is close so you can dine out and get shopping done easily if you want. Eliot is kind and smart owner to take care of home and our needs. He was always responsive and come back with a solution for our questions.

Suzy was very helpful and responded quickly. Her house was clean, organized and very homey. It was also very helpful to have a washer and dryer for our stay.

Our 2-day stay at Jenn & Kristian’s place was exactly what we needed during our 10 day vacation in Hawaii. We really enjoyed getting away from the busy/touristy areas of the island while checking out Volcanoes Ntnl park. The location feels like a secret treehouse hideaway - quiet, pristine, and very homey but romantic (which is hard to do!). The amenities were great, the hosts were very generous with some treats to welcome us, and the neighborhood was extremely serene. Would definitely recommend planning out food options (and grabbing bottled water) ahead of time whether cooking or going out - this area is quite remote which was our goal but may leave others unprepared! Kehena beach is amazing - yes, clothing optional and definitely walkable but wear proper shoes for the climb down. Worth the early wake up for the sunrise on the beach!! Overall, great experience and we would recommend this location for anyone looking for seclusion, peace, and quiet!! :)

This place was totally awesome! It was so beautiful and peaceful! We slept so well! The house was well stocked with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Denise and Brian are the best hosts, making sure we had everything we need. Itineraries were provided so we were never bored. We will definitely be back for a stay in the beautiful rainforest on the Big Island! 🏝️

Great fit for our laid back group, a serene slice of heaven in Puna Palisades neighborhood. Karan communicated routinely with helpful information for outside visitors. Renters should be aware that check in process is different than AirBnB messages -- there is no code emailed, rather check in direct with owners. All good :-)

Our stay was wonderful. The space heaters certainly came in handy as we did not use the wood burning stove with two little ones in our party. Plenty of amenities were provided and we put the beach chairs, beach toys, and cooler to good use - thank you! The lava tube on property was fun to peek into from the walkway. Jeff was great at communicating instructions prior to check in and coordinating some maintenance that was occurring during our stay, which was not an issue at all. We would definitely stay again if we are fortunate enough to make it back to Volcano.

The space is huge and surrounded by landscape that offers complete privacy. The frogs sing you to sleep. It’s 5-10 minutes from town, but 3 minutes from the nearest, spectacular waterfall. It’s a great place to stay for a couple with maybe one other person or two small kids.

One of the cleanest Airbnb I've ever been. I've used Airbnb several times and Sarah&Harlan's house is one of the best Airbnb! The brand new appliances, kitchen utensils, and many other sensitive touches by hosts. We are a big group of family (grandparents, sisters, nieces) We all loved this place. I'll stay again when I come back to Hilo next time.

I love how the place was decorated of the Star Wars theme. My boys are huge fans of the franchise. The kids had lots of fun seeing all the decor, playing with toys, and adults played the board games. The house was very spacious for a group of 11 of us. The house is cool because the lava burned down the house next door and there are steam vents now in front and all around the property making it look like a land from Star Wars. There was A/C in the home which was great because it can get warm and humid sometimes. There was still hair in the shower in the main bedroom but I think it’s because the hosts maybe live there and it was booked last minute. The host greeted us and showed us the place quickly and they made sure we had everything we needed. The house was pricey but super cool for one night and worth it to see my boys nerd-out for one night and just be in awe with all the cool decor.

Great quiet place with easy access to Hilo and Volcanoes National Park. Enjoyed the lanai with a table to dine out. This is a duplex so other side of the house might be rented to other people. It was a perfect place for our family to use as a base to explore the north of the island.

A Tropical Paradise! Our stay at this Airbnb was nothing short of awesome! The soothing sound of the ocean, combined with the enchanting serenade of coqui frogs at night, created a blissed atmosphere that we absolutely loved. We enjoyed delightful meals on the lanai, grilling fresh mahi mahi and marlin, which made for unforgettable dining experiences. The beds were comfy, and the house was beautifully appointed, even featuring a Scrabble game for fun evenings. Perfect place to indulge in long, relaxing baths in the deep tub and the pristine sauna was a detaching retreat. All the furniture was cozy, making us feel right at home. The location is fantastic, with a general store just 10 minutes away in Orchiland. The yard was impeccably manicured, and we enjoyed cooking and grilling in this wonderful space. Our point of contact for the property was incredibly helpful, responsive, and professional, making our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, this is one of our best Airbnb experiences!
