We had a wonderfully peaceful stay at Mountain Song. The place was very cozy and secluded and perfect for getting away from it all. We were there late in the season, but even with some of the roads and trails inaccessible, we found plenty to keep us busy with nearby hikes, restaurants, breweries, and painting and reading while watching the snow fall out the windows.

A quiet retreat in the Westfjords not far from the town of Isafjorda. The home was clean and peaceful and gave us room to spread out. It has a beautiful view of the mountains flanking each side of the fjord and was very private even with other homes nearby. We appreciated having a hot tub to relax at the end of the day and access to a laundry room.

Our stay at Madeleine's house was one of the highlights of our trip. It is decorated with impeccable taste, we loved looking at the book collection and the location was perfect. The kitchen was nice and functional, and the beds were super comfortable. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Hjortur’s house felt like a home, with all the amenities to make us comfortable - cozy fireplace, blackout shades, hot tub and so much more. It’s ideally situated, around the corner from the town pool and playground, on a quiet street, with easy walk to restaurants. We especially appreciated all the thoughtful instructions posted in the house that made the appliances easy to use. Check-in was easy and the housekeeper lives down the street in case we needed anything. It was the perfect place to relax at the end of our trip to Iceland and we loved it so much, we’d give it 10 stars if we could.

I spent an amazing time in this little cottage ! It was very confortable with everything that's needed and Bolungarvik is really a wonderful place to enjoy the serenity of remote Iceland regions

We stayed at Bjorn’s house for 3 nights and it was the perfect base for exploring beautiful West Iceland. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. Bjorn was responsive and informative. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Elsa María und Jon waren jederzeit ansprechbar, hilfsbereit und haben uns wertvolle Tipps gegeben. Das Häuschen war sehr geräumig und hatte einen faszinierenden Blick auf den Fjord. Unser Highlight waren die Polarlichter direkt vor der Haustür 😀 Immer wieder schön auch das Willkommen und die Streicheleinheit mit Skuggi 😉 Eine eindeutige Empfehlung und jederzeit wieder!

This was our second time staying here - out of more than 60 places we have stayed in Iceland this is the only one we have returned to, it is so special. The weather for our 2 night stay was not going to be good so Guðrún very generously offered us another property with more amenities but we decided to stay at Brekka. Even during the wind & rain the place was still warm thanks to the wood burner and we cooked a full meal on the stove and enjoyed relaxing completely by candlelight. We made one journey out to the local pool (also recommended, everyone is very welcoming and chatty, even by Icelandic hot tub standards!) but otherwise enjoyed a chance to de-stress and have a break from our road trip. Already looking forward to another stay in 2 years - roll on 2026!

This is our second time in this cabin. It’s a beautiful rather simple place, very close to Ísafjörður but secluded, in nature. You are surrounded by a forest, with a constant sound of the waterfall and a beautiful view towards the fjord. There are nice big windows, everything you need to cook, and a feeling of home, with all the ornaments. The bed and shower are a bit small, but you can manage. Johann is extremely hospitable and let us stay a few extra hours the day after our big Horsnstrandir hike to do our laundry in the nearby campground. Thank you, Jói!
