Al Castello is a real home with all the amenities of home and the best place we've stayed in our third year coming to Ortigia. The location is quiet and only a short walk to the piazza. The home is large and everything was spotless. For longer stays (we stayed a month) it was perfect. Our hosts were gracious and kind and we felt cared for by them and the place. We'd definitely rent this again.

If you want some peace and tranquility then this the place to go. Set high in the beauty of an olive grove the views are stunning and this stand alone property has sun and shade to enjoy it all. It is away from outside life and the driveway is quite long and is a track not a road but it’s worth the drive. There isn’t an oven inside so be aware when buying food in. You are not too far away from all the major towns. Noto is lovely and around 20 mins away and Syracuse which we loved was around 45 mins. Lorenzo was quick to communicate and the olive oil he makes is recommended and an ideal gift to take back home! Totally recommended!!!

An absolute gem right in the center of beautiful Noto! As a family of four, it was the perfect accommodation with lots of room to spread out and cook comfortably when we wanted to have a meal at home. Street parking can be a little challenging depending on the time of day, but we were always able to get a spot with some persistence. We suggest following the house recommendations for beach destinations and local food...both we highlights of our trip.

Die Wohnung ist wunderbar. Es ist vor allem der obere Stock, der die Wohnung so reizvoll macht. Eine lichtdurchfutete Wohn - Küche mit Fenster in drei Richtungen. Der Balkon ist windgeschützt, so dass wir auch im Januar viel draußen saßen. Die Wohnung lädt zum Verweilen ein. Der Ort selbst ist klein und fein. Er ist ruhig. Es ist möglich vom Haus aus joggen zu gehen. Ansonsten ist ein Auto ratsam.

We stayed in The Place in Ortigia the second week in FEB, 2025. The location is outstanding--just over the bridge from Siracusa. Extremely walkable--lots of shops and restaurants very close by, the outdoor market a two-minute walk away. Couldn't be happier with the location. We had breakfast around the corner at the Apollo Cafe every morning and that was great. There are lots of stairs to get into the apartment, but if you're okay with that it's perfect. Extremely clean and updated. Lots of outlets for plugging in electronics. I would STRONGLY recommend for anyone wanting to explore Ortigia. The host, Emanuele, was super nice. Great communication. He met us at the apartment and gave a thorough walk-through. He clearly has a lot of pride in this property and he should--it is lovely. Thanks for the memorable stay!

Sebastiano’s place was absolutely amazing! From the location to the place itself, everything was perfect and the famous Market is right there! Any questions we had prior to getting to Ortigia or while there, he responded right away and made us feel right at home. You cannot beat the price either for the location and the hospitality! You are within minutes to all the shopping, food and waterfront! It is super safe as well. The bed is comfy and you have everything you need from linens to espresso etc. and even a welcome bottle of wine too! We will definitely be back!

it's nice villa divided into 4 independent flats , located in the center of the village and surrounded local citizens and houses within specific Italian atmosphere 😀. Flat is modern and very nice with the huge terasse, but pure internet. There is absolutely nothing to do around except beautiful sand beach in 10 min by car. We always used car to reach Syracuse, Ragusa or any restaurant or supermarkets in Avolla. As a summary we would highly recommend for a couple of days if you have a car.

Gisella’s place was amazing and so perfect for our two families to share time together. It was exactly as described and the location allowed for lovely walks around the island with our two little ones. I can’t wait to come back and enjoy her apartment and the island again, hopefully soon!

Wir hatten als Familie mit 2 Kindern einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt in der Wohnung. Die Wohnung ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet und alles war wie auf den Bildern beschrieben. Die Terrasse zum Meer ist wirklich ein Traum. Toller Sonnenaufgang jeden Morgen. Trotz der ruhigen Lage sehr zentral zum Ortskern mit allen Restaurants und die tollen Strände in nahegelegenen Naturschutzgebiet sind auch nicht weit mit dem Auto (10-15min). Wir können die Wohnung sehr empfehlen, sie hat unseren Sizilienaufenthalt bereichert!

Nous recommandons le logement de Catherine, il est accueillant, joliment décoré, avec une douche incroyable... l'environnement est calme. Il y a un rétroprojecteur avec netflix, c'était génial. Catherine est une hôte très agréable, commucative et intentionnée. Merci pour tout

Villa was one of our best AirBNB experiences ever! Elisa is so hospitable and kind, was always ready to advise! Elisa assisted with transfer, ordered us pizza when we arrived (flight was delayed and it was already too late to go for dinner). Villa is a large and beautiful place for stay, so clean, with everything could be needed during vacation! Location is perfect especially if you have a car- 2 minute drive or 19 minute walk from beautiful sand beach (perfect for children!), product shops also close. For fish and seafood -10 minute drive. Amazing Siracuse for evening walks -20 minute drive. If you are searching for great sea experience at Sicily - no doubts that Villa will be the right choice! Elisa, thank you ♥️

Lucia and Michele's house is truly one-of-a-kind! It's brimming with personality, boasts astonishing views, and is incredibly functional. From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcome. Lucia greeted us with a warm smile and a delicious local wine, and she was overflowing with helpful tips and recommendations for exploring the area. The house is beautifully designed with a tasteful interior and an abundance of natural light. As an avid cook, I was thrilled with the kitchen – it's a dream come true! We will definitely be back!

It truly was a home away from home. Beautiful furnishings. Comfortable bed. The host was very responsive, when we discovered we needed additional kitchen items. It was private and conveniently located.

This is one of the best places we have stayed, with the most beautiful villa set in lovely gardens full of ancient olive trees. The pool and its pavilion and bar were just perfect. Not too far from Modica and Noto, plus excellent beaches at San Lorenzo. Roberto and family were very helpful and responsive. Would definitely recommend getting Angelica to cook one evening- just the best meal of the trip. Trying to find the place in the dark is not recommended though. The Google map reference given is not quite accurate and there is nothing to indicate you are supposed to drive through next door’s farmyard. But, like getting into heaven, it’s worth it!

Wir haben eine tolle Woche Anfang April im Haus von Loredana verbracht. Der Garten mit Pool ist wirklich wunderschön ! Da es sich noch um die Nebensaison handelte , war es schön einsam und ruhig. Für uns genau richtig ! Wer um die Zeit Trubel sucht sollte vielleicht woanders hinfahren. Ein Auto vor Ort zum Einkaufen etc. ist sehr sinnvoll. Dann kann man auch mit wenig Fahrzeit viele tolle Dinge entdecken ( je nach Ausflugsziel empfiehlt sich ein unempfindliches Auto, da die Straßen teilweise abenteuerlich sind .. Vollkasko zu empfehlen ) Loredana war zu jeder Zeit für uns erreichbar und sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Kommunikation war per Translator sehr unkompliziert! Wir empfehlen die Unterkunft uneingeschränkt für Familien mit jüngeren Kindern . Die Betten für die Kinder sind eher klein und unser Teenager mit 1,80 m haben wir aufs Sofa umquartiert. Ging aber auch. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

We had a wonderful stay at Sabrina’s lovely, comfortable house with its green, spacious garden. It was really decorated with love and attention and we felt incredibly at home. Simply a wonderful holiday house. We were there in low season so the surroundings were quiet. Something we liked but meant we had to take the car if we wanted to go out for dinner. Lovely stay, highly recommended!

What an incredible place! Communication was excellent and upon arrival we were greeted by Carmelo who explained everything we needed to know about the property. The house itself is stunning, we enjoyed the swimming pool, ping pong, table football and all of the games! The house is very well equipped with most things you would possibly need which made everything so much easier Location was great and everything accessible by car, complete with STUNNING views from each balcony! Alles sehr gut. Das Haus ist genial um eine schöne Zeit zu verbringen. Viel Umschwung. Sehr gut für Kinder. Am meisten hat mir die grosse Aussenküche gefallen. Die Nähe zum Strand von Fonte Biance ist auch genial. Alles in allem kan man perfekte Ferien in diesem Haus verbringen.

We had a very peaceful week in the hills, with an amazing view of the sea, the countryside and Etna. Grazia gave us lots of good recommendations of places to explore. Great place if you want to get away from the city.

La villetta è splendida e curatissima. Abbiamo soggiornato con la mia famiglia per quattro notti. La spiaggia a 200 metri è molto bella e poco frequentata. Il mare pulito. Da segnalare l’ospitalità di Salvo che ci ha fatto trovare acqua e bevande nel frigo, una bottiglia di nero d’avola di benvenuto, un sugo e la pasta nel caso volessimo prepararci una cena veloce. La casa è accessoriata. Non manca niente, anzi. Ci torneremo sicuramente

Stunning villa, spacius inside and outside, huge porch with comfortable sofa and tv, private pool with deckchairs for sunbathing. Walking distance to the beach, a short drive to the shop. Perfect fit for 6 people, with lots of kitchen amenities and various glasses to enjoy wine or other sicilian spirits and delicacies.
