My family and I loved our stay and would come back in a heartbeat!!!

My husband and two dogs love this property, it’s our second time visiting. The dogs love the yard, my husband loves the pond and I love the trails. A++++

Our family gathered there in the Forest/Lynchburg area for Thanksgiving this year. We found this property to be entirely suitable for our use in this way. The house is laid out well and we were able to enjoy our time together. Scott was very accommodating on anything that we needed and responsive when we had any questions. We certainly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely consider staying in this property again if we needed to gather in that area. Highly recommend this property to others whose group sizes are compatible with the house. Thanks so much for making us feel at home and for accommodating us while we were here.

This home was perfect for our family of 6 plus our dog. The large kitchen was perfect for making meals at home and the couches are super cozy. The backyard is larger than our seems in the photos. We really enjoyed sitting outside in the morning, eating our breakfast and listening to the birds. She has thought of everything. The kitchen is well stocked and there are lots of fun extras throughout the house. We appreciated the special attention given to our doggie including a gift just for her.

We loved our stay! The house was pristine and had all the extras we might need: laundry detergent, extra toothbrushes & coffee. The beds were comfortable and the neighborhood was quiet. There was even a friendly neighborhood cat that greeted us. It was the perfect stay for our weekend touring Liberty University.

Shady Oaks is located in a quaint development right on the water. It's heavily wooded with lots of shade. The neighborhood is generally quiet and there is a private road that loops down and back. The house is well maintained and features lots of outdoor space to enjoy your stay. Water access is via the dock which also features an elevated deck above the dock. The kids and I spent most of our time at the dock--enjoying the cove by either fishing or kayaking (2 come with the rental). Relaxing on the deck was also great in the evening. We brought our puppy since dogs are allowed (extra $25 per day upto 2 dogs). It was nice to have an enclosed deck off the main level for our puppy to enjoy with us. The beds were very firm memory foam, but comfy. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, utensil, gadgets, spices, and oils. The location is convenient to the state park (a must), Virginia Dare boat tour, restaurants, and shopping. Overall a good 3-day weekend stay.

Great little place with comfortable beds. Just as depicted and described. A wonderful value for our quick trip to Lynchburg.

My friend and I had an incredible stay at Michelle's place! The cabin was exactly as described and had a lot of privacy. The surroundings were beautiful - the best part was the riding stables only a four minute drive away. Definitely go for a ride and stop by the petting zoo:) Look forward to staying in the future!

I loved staying at Mariners Landing in this lovely condo. It was perfect for a peaceful couple of nights away in the "off season" though any season at Smith Mountain Lake is beautiful! I enjoyed the amenities including the indoor pool, game room, and beach area, and had a fabulous meal from Bruno's Clubhouse. The condo was beautifully decorated and I spent a lot of time on the lakefront balcony. Definitely recommend a stay here!

There wasn't one thing that was wrong..... Everything was perfect, which is such a rarity these days 💕 The beds were comfy, the pillows were amazing, everything was clean and very welcoming, the towels were a good quality, the location was gorgeous, I could go on and on! Even the owners were friendly and responsive! I can't wait for our next stay!!

Had a wonderful time with the family, Tammy was a great host! Very responsive and communicative. Definitely a better fit for older kids (the hills 🤣), but Tammy had ALL the essentials for babies to be accommodated and right at home! And the littles loved fishing too. It was an excellent spring break for us!

Great stay. Cute condo right above restaurant and store. Brought my SUP and used it a lot. Lots to do at Mariner’s landing. Great food and service at The Landing, Bruno’s and Bottles and Bites. State Park 7 minutes away is excellent for hiking. Lots of friendly neighbors! We’re ready to go back!!

The place is as pictured, comfy and clean. The host was very responsive and accommodating. I would recommend and stay again.

Karen was very pleasant & quick to respond. We rented her home for our son’s wedding. She gave great recommendations & took care of a problem right upon arrival. The home was beautiful, we had plenty of space for our family & loved being able to bring our dog. The master bath floor & tub wasn’t the cleanest, I don’t blame that at all on the host, I’m sure it can be hard with cleaners managing a property. And the steps going upstairs weren’t swept. I didn’t want to bother her again, as she had already taken care of a problem for us earlier, so we just went with it, it wasn’t unbearable. Beds were comfy. Towels were nice, washcloths may need a little updating, but overall, it was what we needed & served its purpose.

Logan was a very responsive host. We enjoyed the home very much. The kids loved the arcade games, the back patio, and the big bubble bath on the main level which was very accessible for kids next to the bunk beds room they loved. We had a great family thanksgiving in the beautiful dinning room. Would highly recommended this home for anyone visiting Liberty University or Lynchburg Virginia for family trip. Great location and we loved watching the red cardinals through the big windows in the kitchen/ breakfast nook.

Not my first stay and hopefully not my last. I always look for this place when I’m visiting the area. On this visit the hosts went above and beyond to be helpful and accommodating. Place is very clean and comfortable, easy to locate in a safe neighborhood.

We had a wonderful but quick long weekend in Lynchburg for a sporting event. Close and convenient to multiple attractions, we had a lovely time here. Also to note, we felt completely safe and were grateful for the quiet neighborhood to come “home” to at the end of the day.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Martha’s Airbnb! From the moment I arrived, I felt a sense of calm and relaxation. The surroundings were beautiful, with stunning views that made every moment feel like a retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. One of the highlights was having the cows nearby—it added such a peaceful and unique touch to the experience. Watching them graze and enjoying the quiet countryside made for a truly serene and grounding stay. The home itself was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully prepared, making it easy to settle in and unwind. Martha was a fantastic host, ensuring everything was just right for a comfortable visit. Thank you, Martha, for such a relaxing and beautiful stay! I would absolutely love to return in the future.

My husband, 15 year old son and 2 dogs were in the area for several days and stayed at Elizabeth's house. The house was very nice. It was clean, had all of the aneminities we like (Keurig, dishwasher, washer/dryer). The kitchen was well stocked and the living area was comfortable. My son enjoyed having the entire lofted area to himself and had no problems accessing it using the stairway. The creek behind the house was so peaceful and the yard was nice for our dogs to sniff around in. The location was close to a Kroger's and many restaurants and it was minutes away from Liberty University where we had fun at the Snowflex Mountain and saw a baseball game! Would definitely recommend!

So Beautiful! So Peaceful! We enjoyed every second in this beautiful home, on a serene lake, surrounded by nature and love. Rachael was an amazing host. We were coming to town for a vow renewal ceremony. Rachael was responsive and super helpful when it came to logistics and flexible with the check-in, so we could get to the ceremony on time. The home was lovely and pristine! It had everything we needed to cook and have fun. The 2 decks and dock framed the lake beautifully. The kayaks were a big hit and all the board games kept us entertained. We loved our time in the home and on the lake! We would definitely book again!

Brandon’s place was a great stay for two people and two small pets. The place is cozy with helpful long-term amenities. We stayed here for a little over 2 months while moving from out of state and looking for a house. Green flags: 3 bedrooms, pots, pans, pantry space, coffee maker and kureig, smart tv with streaming apps loaded, full and half bath, linens and blankets, off street parking, smart lock on the door, great laundry facilities, pet friendly, cleaning supplies Beige (not red) flags: window A/C only, ceiling fan in only 1 bedroom, tired furniture, not pleasant for long term stays, hard bed (good for some, not us), lack of plugs by the bed, older pans and no spices These are just our thoughts. Everyone’s needs are different. Brandon was super helpful with anything we asked and friendly. He allowed us to use the extra basement space that’s not listed. This was a very pleasant game changer for us.
