What a beautiful farm/winery to stay at for a night! The mountain views are incredible, and the staff at the guest house were all very friendly. The room was clean, and the surroundings were spectacular. Jo was a friendly host and responsive to any questions we had. Would recommend staying here!

We stayed at Mieke’s Cottage for two months with our family, including our two young children (ages 2 and 3), and it was absolutely amazing—we felt at home from day one. A huge thank you to Lozanne, who was always there for us and helped with everything we needed. The house itself has everything you could ask for. It looks exactly like the photos and is the perfect place for a family. The absolute highlight for our kids was the large garden, where they could run around all day. They especially loved the jungle gym, swimming pool, and, of course, all the animals. This truly made our holiday special. The location was perfect—quiet and safe—yet within half an hour, you can reach most of Cape Town and the Winelands. This has been the best accommodation we’ve ever stayed in as a family, and I’m sure we’ll be back one day!

Beautiful, serene and peaceful. The cottages feel remote on the river and in the valley, but is 5 min away from the town.

Poenie's place is a delicious place in the middle of a dreamy location. We've spent 3 nights in her guest house. There is a double bed with nice bedding, a kitchen with a microwave and all the utensils needed. The bathroom shower was also great.There's a gorgeous swimming pool right in front of the house, that is shared with other guests. The view is spetacular, it was great to play domino while the cows were comunicating with each other under the moonlight. Unfortunately we didn't have the chance to visit the Middelvlei Wine Estate because we had planned on having lunch on Monday and we didn't check before to make sure it would be open, it wasn't. Oh, and It was the most beautiful place to walk, the lakes, the birds, the animals, the vegetation, the grape vines, everything made our stay unforgettable.

I've stayed at medium sized hotels with smaller swimming pools than we had here, and the pool here was just for our family ... it's really massive and perfect for those hot summer days ! The cottage is really large and though a little dated it's clean and well looked after and has loads of space both indoor and out .. For a family with kids ( who'll love the pool !) it's perfect ..the sofa bed is excellent and the convertible pool table was an unexpected bonus .. We never got around to the wine tasting, but the hosts can arrange that for you We had a comfortable stay and would return. .. It's about 15 mins drive from central Stellenbosch and is well located for the many activities / venues in the Winelands between Stellenbosch and Paarl.

What a location for starters! Stunning! Richard met us as we arrived and got us acquainted with the place. It's pretty much exactly as it looks on the photos, and everything is clean and tidy. We were able to use the pool, but it was freezing due to the time of year, but being Brits...we never let that get in the way! it was private, safe and close to Franschoek centre (walkable). We were also treated to a bottle of wine from the vineyard, which was delicious. If you book Richard's place, you won't regret it! oh, and the bed in the main bedroom was the comfiest bed I've ever slept in!

Kirsty was an amazing host! The property was perfect with everything we needed. The whole estate is so well kept. The rusks were delicious. I didn’t bring the correct adapters for the hairdryer and within minutes of me messaging her she produced one! We will definitely be back. Thank you so much. You should be very proud of such a fabulous property.

This space is luxury and unique! An absolute must for animal lovers - to be able to sleep above a stable and look out over the paddocks is so heart warming Highly recommended for a comfortable and romantic stay in the beautiful wine lands Thank you I will be back

Ons verblijf bij Graham is goed verlopen. De twee huisjes waren proper en heel mooi ingericht, ook een ontzettend mooie en rustige ligging. Enige minpuntjes waren de druk van de douches die soms minder was en de kikkers die 's nachts een brulconcert hielden, breng zeker oordopjes mee. :) Voor de rest kunnen wij ons verblijf bij Graham echt aanbevelen!

Das Cottage ist wunderschön gelegen, man ist sehr privat und dennoch schnell in der Stadt und bei diversen Weingütern. Der Garten, der Pool und die Outdoor Badewanne sind ein Traum. Unsere Kinder haben sich sehr wohlgefühlt, es gibt auch ein Babybett, Hochstuhl und Kindergeschirr. Wenn man zu mehrt reist und das Ausziehsofa im Wohn- Essbereich nutzt, gibt es dort keine Verdunklungs Möglichkeiten. Hermien ist eine sehr freundliche Gastgeberin und wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!!

Während vier regnerischen Tagen waren wir in Franschhoek. Genau bei dieser Witterung ist es sehr angenehm, wenn man eine luxuriöse Unterkunft wie das Saddelbrook Cottage gebucht hat. Wir haben das stilvoll eingerichtete Cottage sehr genossen. Es ist alles vorhanden, was es für einen gelungenen Aufenthalt braucht. Ein gutes Restaurant ist in Gehdistanz erreichbar.

Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable dans ce logement spacieux et confortable, avec une vue magnifique. L'endroit est idéal pour se détendre et profiter de la nature. La propriétaire est sympathique et accueillante. Elle nous a donné d'excellents conseils pour des balades et de bons restaurants à découvrir dans la région. Un vrai plus qui a enrichi notre séjour ! Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la présence des animaux, notamment les jeunes chiots avec lesquels nous avons pu jouer. Une expérience unique qui a rendu notre séjour encore plus spécial. Un grand merci pour cette belle parenthèse, nous reviendrons avec plaisir !

What a memorable time we had! The views are magnificent and made our long walks worthwhile.The beds were so comfy! We really enjoyed family time around the fireplace during the evenings. The kids had fun cooling off at the private pool during the day!... but the cherry on top was most definitely those breakfast baskets!

A fabulous property superbly kitted out. Super comfortable and a delight to stay in. Great local restaurants and every amenity possible in the house for nights in. We had a simply fantastic week.

Beautiful home in an amazing location. Felt right at home - house is just far enough from the hustle and bustle of the Main Street to feel very private but all within walking distance of anything you need. Jan was a great host and so was Eric who looked after us very well. Will def be back for future trips.

Great stay. Liked the location, Braai and kitchen the most. Pool with lights on at night looked great. Place had great security with alarm, gates, fence etc made us feel secure at night.

We had a two-night stay, and lunch for my son's 21st birthday on the Saturday. Ruan (recommended by Cora) provided a wonderful catered lunch, and we had pizzas from the pizza oven in the evening. The main house sleeps 9 and the barn 6, so we could send the kids to the barn for late night chats while the grownups called it a night. All in all, it made for a wonderful celebration.

We loved our stay. The house was impeccably clean and comfortable. We loved the wood burning hot tub. We would definitely recommend it.

The directions were accurate and we arrived at the idyllic old farm house where everything was neat and tidy. The braai room was an added bonus and a great place for our evenings. We were skeptical about the hot tub but once we lit the fire it warmed up nicely and was very relaxing. Although we were in the country amongst the vineyards, the town was only 5 minutes away if we needed anything. The garden was big enough for us to have a good game of cricket and the pool was there to cool us down when we finished. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Lalapanzi and the Skaap House provided an unforgettable two-week retreat for our family of seven. Nestled in stunning natural beauty, the lodge offers breathtaking views that truly felt like a dream. Waking up to the serene landscape each morning was a joy. What truly sets Lalapanzi apart is the opportunity to walk among zebras, springboks, bonteboks, and wildebeest within the game reserve – a magical experience we cherished daily. The warm hospitality and friendly, responsive staff made us feel right at home, and the proximity to fantastic restaurants, wineries, and various outdoor activities was a bonus. We can't recommend Lalapanzi highly enough for anyone seeking an idyllic South African escape.
