A very peaceful and quiet retreat in a lovely part of the North East. It was so quiet and relaxing spending time in the hot tub and inside the cottage. Although this is no fault of Rachael's and/or the cottage please be wary that if you're over 6 foot you will be ducking a lot! I banged my head twice coming out of the bathroom when going during the night and still half asleep (again, this is nothing against the host or the location - just a pre-warning!)

I absolutely loved our stay at Barnacre Alpacas, we stayed in the rose cottage, it was very clean and the hot tub was a bonus. We enjoyed the alpaca walk and talk, that was something I’ll never forget! On arrival the cottage was dressed up for a birthday surprise and champagne and chocolates was left for us. Thank you to Paul and Debbie, we will be back!

Had an absolutely amazing time here! 5 of us squished in nicely for the weekend and had an amazing time. We got the hot tub working and it was nice to be able to having something to do and watch whilst chilling, did find it a little tricky to maintain the temperature throughout the day. We cooked loads and there were loads of pans, pots, cutlery and everything else we needed to cook. Only thing that was tricky was the smoke alarm kept going off despite the doors and windows all being open. Was solved by wafting a tea towel at it but was still a little annoying. The place feels really spacious despite being quite small because of the skylights and windows so that was amazing. The hosts were wonderful and great at replying so we honestly couldnt really fault the place and are hoping to come back again for another little weekend away!!!

Ivy Cottage is a gem 💎. Jane is a great host, great communication and flexibility. The cottage is spacious with a homely feel. We loved all the fairy lights outside, it looked very magical. Great place to have a family get together. The hot tub and games room are fantastic. We loved the small touches around the house, including the towels, bathrobes and crocs for the hot tub. The welcome package also a lovely touch, included eggs from Jane's hens, which made tasty scrambled eggs. The location is a great base and lots of places nearby. The cottage is also great if you just want to stay put and chill, you have everything you need.

Four of us have just spent 3 nights in Peewit Cottage. From the moment we arrived, we all felt right at home, the place was spotless, beds very comfortable too! Everything you could possibly need for a self catering stay was provided. Having the private hot tub was fabulous, we loved it after full days of being tourists in the local area. On a separate note, we would highly recommend a visit to Beamish Museum which was about a 30 min drive, we also spent a day in Durham City & booked a 2.5 hr History/City Tour with walkaboutdurham - highly recommended. Tour Guide Peter is very knowledgeable & so passionate about his job plus he gives everyone a "free" cocktail voucher for Turtle Bay - well deserved after 2.5hrs walking around the City 🤣🤣

We had a wonderful stay. The cottage was perfect for us the hot tub, games room and outside kitchen made it extra special. We had a lovely relaxing weekend. The cottage was very well equipped and had the most amazing views.

Wir hatten ein paar sehr schöne Tage im „Farm Cottage“! Der Hof ist ruhig und wunderschön und unsere kleine Tochter war begeistert von den vielen Tieren. Das Pool Haus mit Trainings- und Hobbyraum ist ein tolles Extra, genauso die frischen Eier von den eigenen Hühnern, Holz für den Ofen und der Service, das Waschhaus inkl. Waschmaschine und Trockner zu nutzen. Die Kommunikation mit Chris und seiner Frau war perfekt. Wir waren sehr traurig, dass wir nur ein paar Tage da waren. Ein kleiner Hinweis für große Menschen: Die Dusche ist sehr, sehr niedrig ;) Also entweder baden, im sitzen duschen oder am besten einfach die Dusche im Pool Haus nutzen!

My husband & I spent a few days at Wren's Nest along with our dog. We were very appreciative of the the welcome basket on arrival for us and our dog! My husband was also delighted to see that the hosts had put up a Happy Birthday banner and also left a beautiful sweet treat for us each to celebrate his birthday, this was above and beyond but a lovely kind gesture. The property itself was lovely and comfortable, the quality of fixtures and fittings were of high standard and made the property feel lovely & cosy. The patio area at the back of property was lovely first thing with the sun beaming down and in an evening it was lovely to light the log burner. Wren's Nest is in an excellent location for local shops, bars and restaurants and a short walk takes you to a woodland area where we walked out dog. We visited Whitby, Saltburn and Goathland ( TVs Heartbeat territory) all within a short drive from property.

had a lovely stay here, cottage is surrounded by gorgeous views. we used it as a base to get out and about each day around Northumberland so it was perfect location for us having the car to get about. cottage is nice and cozy with everything we needed to get ready of a morning and settle down of an evening after a long day exploring with our dogs. Debbie was only next door if we needed anything and was very friendly and helpful on check in. thank you for a lovely stay!

Lovely cottage in ideal location with walking distance to the beach. Very clean and tastefully decorated. Kitchen was very well equipped. Extremely comfortable bed so that was a bonus. Nick is a great host and responds quickly. I will definitely be back when I'm next on the area.

This is a beautiful cottage with everything you need for a relaxing stay. It’s in a great location to explore Northumberland but very quiet & private. We self catered but there were plenty of places to eat out in walking distance if you want. We self catered and every piece of equipment you need is in the kitchen, including an air fryer. Our only disappointment was not getting to use the log burner as it wasn’t cold enough !!

had an amazing stay at this beautiful cottage. Lynne and Steve are amazing hosts and respond very quickly to messages. we had a slight issue with the heating and I messaged and within 5 minutes Steve was knocking on th3 door to help us. would highly recommend and would definitely stay again

What can I say... Absolutely fantastic place. You couldn't ask for anything more. Really peaceful location with fantastic views of the hills etc. We had a strange issue but this was sorted out very swiftly by Malcolm 👍 We will definitely be looking to book again and have another peaceful time just watching the world go by. This was one of the nicest places we have stayed in very many years. Carol was a delight and the cottage had everything one could want. I was impressed by the number of books available, it was a joy.

A gorgeous house in beautiful gardens and surroundings. More than big enough for 8 of us and our dog with plenty of kitchen utensils and crockery. Vanessa was the perfect host, very friendly, responsive and helpful! We’d love to stay again!

Abbey Hill Cottages to high above W. Hartlepool. They are well equipped.Beds are comfortable and so is sitting room furniture. Plenty of hot water. Good shower.Lots of space. I would stay again.

We needed a place to stay while our bathroom was being remodelled, and it needed to be close to home so we could check on the progress of the work. Violet Cottage fitted our needs perfectly. It was clean, comfortable, well stocked with essentials (the chocolate biscuits were a bonus) and was simply everything we’ve come to expect from an Airbnb Superhost. Grant was very responsive when we had questions and generally made sure our stay was entirely to our satisfaction. For out of town visitors, this place is close to the city centre, close to the river and close to a lot of facilities, both for basic needs and entertainment. We highly recommend Violet Cottage.

Perfect house and location. Very comfortable extremely well equipped. We know the area well as my late husband’s family are from Hexham. However it is the first time we have been away for Christmas since he died and it was perfect so peaceful. Seeing a light pollution free sky and all the twinkling stars was a delight. Very spacious house perfect for what we needed. Very comfy beds! Thank you to Georgina and her family.

We absolutely loved staying at Chris's place. It is a perfect size for us and beautifully decorated and very tasteful! It felt like home from home which was great as we spent Christmas there. The bed was very comfy too. We immediately booked for the following year. Chris was easy to get hold of. The area is great for dog walking. A perfect stay.

First time stay and will return for summer and autumn to enjoy different seasons at this amazing cottage. Wow stunning views giving endless joy and peace to unwind. Previous reviews were so helpful to choose the place and am so glad we did, all spot on about how amazing the views, location, facilities were so thanks for those. Best place out of all we have been so far over the years. Thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay and 100% recommend. Kitchen is fully equipped for cooking oven/hob dinners. Patrick, Kirsty and Rosie - you are a wonderful host and so friendly, thank you a lot.

The cottage was perfect. The kitchen had everything you need, lovely cooking wear and home from home utensils. The log fire (courtesy logs) was beautiful. Really cosy and the bed was extremely comfortable with plush bedding. I have read other reviews and I can honestly say the location was extremely quiet. Yes it’s on a residential street but it was peaceful and both my friend and myself could park our cars right outside. My 6 month old puppy loved it and was well behaved given her new surroundings. Thank you Doreen for your recommendations of dog friendly pubs and excellent communication.

Had great few days in Last Cottage. Ideal location for our dog as 1 minute from beach so last walk of night no problem! Great kitchen with lovely big table and all mod cons you need. Very comfortable beds and good, easy to operate central heating ensured a cosy atmosphere. There is a super bakery just along the road as well as cafes, shops and restaurants. Great base to access Northumberland beaches such as Cresswell and Walworth.
