Good fun place to stay. The restaurant was excellent

Staying with Katie was so much fun! We arrived after dark so didn't get to really see how impressive the hotel was until the morning, but immediately knew we'd hit on something special when we walked inside. Katie greeted us warmly, as did other locals who were in the hotel bar. Katie gave us a complimentary upgrade so we had a huge room with gorgeous views and our own little kitchen and bathroom. It was much more like staying with friends than staying at a hotel, as Katie cooked a meal for everyone and then we all sat in the bar getting to know each other. In the morning, Katie and the others were very busy preparing for a big event that day but didn't mind my partner and I wondering around taking pictures of all the beautiful rooms and even let us snap a portrait of her while she cooked! Highly recommend this place for people looking for an experience and to get to know the locals vs just somewhere to sleep. We can't wait to go back!

Katie’s place is an eclectic mix of an old country pub and an artist home. You will not get tired of wondering around the various rooms and the bohemian surroundings. Katie is a wonderful thoughtful host. I will keep coming back to this magical place.

I absolutely loved staying at Katies place! I booked the Blue Wagyu room for 5 nights. The room was even better than the photos with a super comfortable queen bed. The purpose of my travel was to get away from technology and spend time in this wonderfully weird and whimsical hotel writing, sketching, reading books and cooking good food. The Robbie Burns Hotel is a wonderland of paintings, artefacts and beautifully mismatched furniture. And so many different living areas with a working fireplace in each of them. I was a little anxious about the idea of shared bathrooms, but this did not turn out to be a problem. If you are looking for something unique, quirky and/or different. This is definitely a place to stay. Thanks Carrol for looking after me. And thanks Katie for making this magical place available us.

We loved the warmth and welcome felt during our stay at the Robbie Burns. Katie is a generous and kind host with an incredible home full of stories. The highlight of our trip.

We had a short weekend stay at Carole’s place. The place in reality is better than what you see on Airbnb photos. Such a lovely cottage, in the middle of abundance of natural beauty. Carole as a host was fabulous. She was lightning fast in her response of any query. All amenities are well thought of there. No problem with cleanliness, even the beds were really comfy. My best choice was that couch near the fireplace or having breakfast on the deck looking out to the mountains.

This place is amazing with a great common kitchen & loungeroom, huge deck and all the extras like a fireplace, coffee machine bar facilities, laundry and drying rooms. I would describe it more like a lodge than a boutique hotel but better in that anyone can stay.

Carol is a rockstar! What a beautiful place, amazing views, cozy and clean in and out. The fireplace and community area was our family’s favorite spot. Sunrise and sunsets were a delight to watch daily from the BBQ deck. The place is ideal for anyone looking for a quiet getaway and Carol makes sure you are at very comfortable. She even helped us with some great local recommendations. Thanks again for making our stay memorable. We will surely visit again in the future :)

Katie's place is truly a place on a journey in so many ways. During my stay I felt I was at a crossroad, in keeping with the origins of the Robbie Burns Hotel. While I enjoyed the privacy of my room, and other secluded spots on site, I could also visit the more public spaces and meet and chat with other folks dropping in to meet with Katie. Katie herself is a gem, so much life experience and so many stories. Her artwork and character is on display throughout the Robbie Burns Hotel. A really quiet and secluded village for those looking for a retreat location. I soon felt as though I was part of the local village fabric where I ate lunch daily at the General Store across the road. Short trip (25 minutes) to the beaches and townships on the coast where I would head for a morning walk with my dog and dinner in the evenings.
