This is a very special AirBNB! John has a great eye for beautiful art & collectibles & displays them perfectly around the cottage. There is much to admire here. The bed was super comfy & the street is wonderfully quiet. John’s recommendations were spot on & within easy walking distance from the cottage. We loved Grainery Lane & Roy Hammond for drinks & tapas style food….. both had gorgeous interiors. The Botanic Gardens were a standout as our visit coincided with the begonia festival… WOW! The historic architecture is beautiful & there are many quaint towns in the area which are an easy day trip from Ballarat (Daylesford, Maldon, Clunes & Talbot are all worth visiting if you enjoy seeing historic architecture). We will definitely be back in Ballarat as there is so much to see & do in the area. We would stay at Artisan cottage again. It is great value.

Alan's air bnb was perfection!!! It was the perfect home for our bridal party to get ready -lots of natural light, plenty of space, beautiful furnishings and had all the gadgets! We had the best time here!! Thanks so much Alan!

Our four-night stay felt like a home away from home experience. There was plenty of space, very comfortable beds and a well-equipped kitchen. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful clean place, lovely home. Beautiful surrounds, easy to park and close proximity to shops. Some tea and coffee and a little treat of biscuits. Our family had a very relaxing stay, thank you Vaughan. Will stay again.

5 Stars Linda was an absolutely incredible host! From the moment we booked, she was warm, responsive, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Her place was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed—but it was Linda’s hospitality that really made the stay special. She clearly takes pride in hosting and it shows in every detail. Would 100% stay again and recommend to anyone looking for a stress-free, welcoming experience!

The unit was a nicely restored 1 storey townhouse in an older brick building with covered parking in the rear and a lovely private outdoor courtyard. Craig generously let us check in early as we had a zoom call and was very responsive. We loved the treats that were waiting for guests of all ages to enjoy! the kitchen was well stocked and even included an air fryer and recipe book (the roasted chicken thighs turned out great). The home was only a 25 minute walk from the historic downtown where we enjoyed the architecture and art galleries. We also visited Sovereign Hill and an evening event at the Ballarat municipal observatory. Although we didn't have time to fish we did peek at the lake that's close to Craig's home. Our visit to Ballarat and Craig's property was a highlight on our trip between Adelaide and Melbourne. We would definitely return.
