The location is great, few doors down to a supermarket and few restaurants. The property is beachfront and private. It’s more worth than what I paid for. Ana is a really nice person and eager to help. I’ll be back!

We had an amazing stay at Oldemar’s place in Drake Bay. The location truly feels like the edge of the world—remote, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. Waking up to the sounds of the jungle and the view was simply magical. The apartment is incredibly well-equipped, with all the comforts of the city in a lost paradise deep in the jungle. The outdoor kitchen is fantastic, perfect for cooking while enjoying the surrounding nature, and the air conditioning works perfectly—an absolute luxury in this remote setting. Oldemar was a fantastic host, always available to help and provide recommendations. He was also very flexible with our checkout and luggage, which made our departure much easier. If you’re looking for a unique, off-grid experience in one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful and untouched regions, this is the perfect place. Highly recommended!

We had a 2 week vacation in Costa Rica with several different stays and this was easily one of our favorite places! First of all, the place is well equipped with amenities, clean, well priced, and very comfortable. The AC does an excellent job keeping the bedroom cool for sleeping (keep door closed!), which is especially appreciated given the heat and humidity. The area is beautiful, peaceful, and lush. Nearby Aventuras Cafe (owned by same family) has delicious food and coffee at reasonable prices relative to US. Tamar and Alberto are kind, welcoming and generous hosts as well! We would highly recommend to all! PS if you go we would highly recommend visiting Corcovado national park for a day (or at least 1 night if possible)

Great location in the heart of Drake Bay! Plenty of activities and restaurants a short walk away and a beautiful view of the ocean. Vincent was extremely helpful in booking us a tour and responsive with any questions we had. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting a cozy place to stay while in Drake Bay.

Outstanding stay in every possible way. Sue and Joe have created an oasis in the jungle. The lodging itself is beautiful and matched the photos but what sets Southern Drakes Lodge apart is the service. We are a family of 5 and never have we felt so taken care of in all our travels. From the moment we booked to when it was time to depart, Sue and Joe took care of every detail from taxis, laundry, tours (thank you Elsa!), amazing meals (Thai and Ellie prepared breakfast and dinner that were as beautiful as they were delicious). Five days was not enough but we all left with a sense of gratitude that we were able to experience the OSA peninsula and stay in such a special place with amazing hosts.

Wir waren absolut begeistert von dieser wundervollen gut durchdachten Unterkunft. Die Lage ist unglaublich, direkt gegenüber vom Meer, ganz nah am Dschungel. Es war sehr sauber, die Dusche ein schönes Erlebnis, alles sehr geschmackvoll gestaltet und eingerichtet. Die Kommunikation war super, wenn es Fragen gab, wurde direkt nach einer Lösung geschaut und gehandelt. Die Smoothies direkt vor der Tür sind die besten, die wir je getrunken haben. Alles in allem haben wir ein Stück vom Paradies erlebt, tausend Dank dafür, Michael und Jess

Staying at Jenn and Chad's place was magical and wild—a true jungle experience complete with three kinds of monkeys, macaws, lizards, and more. The hosts were incredibly kind and provided us with stellar recs for nearby surfing, beaching, and snacking. I was even able to attend their community yoga class on the property—a must do for some stretching with an ocean view!

Our stay at Rey and Stephanie’s (hosted by Naomi) was fantastic. We so enjoyed all the incredible wildlife visiting the property each morning- Iguanas, Tucans, squirrel monkeys etc. The house is very comfortable for a group of 6 with all the amenities in the kitchen and house that you could need. The pool is perfect and the outdoor shower is a beautiful touch. Naomi took us on an awesome tubing tour down rio claro and also provides many options for activities in Pavones, which is handy. Rey was an incredibly helpful host and really took care of us and made us feel at home on his property. Thanks for everything and we hope to be back soon!

From my 10 year old… It’s nice because you got to be outside a lot. the beach was awsome, a great part was waking up and walking on the beach at sunrise which was so pretty. The macaws were really cool. It’s kinda scary having it being open and know there are animals out there. (We arrived at night which if you can avoid you should, little hard to navigate the roads for the first time at night) Dad - the nature sounds at night when we arrived were intense and I think kiddo was a little nervous but in the morning all of the nervousness went away. This is a very special place, you are the last house on a very sparsely populated beach (you see nobody for most of the day) there are animals everywhere. It’s very exposed to the elements which might be hard for some but once you settle in you tap into a natural energy that exists in all of us and it is beautiful,

We loved staying at Ruth and Michael's. The house is perfect, with a king bed and an equipped kitchen. There is a nice terrace with a BBQ, and the garden is lovely, full of fruits and birds. We saw toucans and macaws while we were there. Ruth and Michael are adorable, very helpful and friendly!

wonderful place! osa is beautiful we've been coming for years and this was by far our nicest stay. beautiful yoga platform down at the beach, and they even have yoga mats and sarongs to use! and Jacko the guardian is absolutely amazing! he helped us rent a kayak and gave us fruits from the land!

We LOVED Patricia's place. it took us awhile to get used to the heat as we arrived from Canada. The property is so beautiful and well maintained. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Everyday we saw new animals. We saw all 4 species of monkeys right outside our door! We also saw Toucans, Macaws, agouti, Coati and a Tayra all on the property in 5 days. I would absolutely recommend Patricias place and hope to return one day :)

Amazing place, and unbeatable location! We rented both the guest house and the main house…. The main house is close enough to walk up the driveway but the driveway long enough that both houses get privacy. Just a couple minutes walk to the beach surrounded by jungle, and short walk along the shore and you are in town. Perfect. Everything in both houses was good quality and well cared for--and the hosts were super attentive and gave great recommendations. We will definitely return, next time for a longer stay, I hope.

This is our second time staying at the home. It’s absolutely incredible. The beach is never crowded and right at your doorstep. There’s so much to do from snorkeling to fishing to surfing to hiking. Or you can just lounge and do absolutely nothing, surrounded by the beauty of the jungle. It’s everything you could ask for in a jungle setting. Chicky the caretaker is great, very responsive & super friendly. We will be back again.

Excelente el lugar donde nos quedamos súper lindas las instalaciones. Lo que si podría mejorar es la limpieza del piso pero x lo demás todo excelente.
