The posted description accurately describes the Carrage House Cottage (CHC). The first thing we experienced was the spaciouness of the cottage and uncluttered furnishings. The kitchen has everything one needs to prepare full and light meals. The CHC is located high on a hill between downtown and the college. There is ample off-street parking and the neighborhood seems secure and is quiet for peaceful sleep. We recommend taking a flashlight with you if you walk downtown (about 0.3 miles) at night. Being on a hill the walk downtown includes sidewalk steps that are sometimes not uniform and difficult to see. Outstanding hiking trails are nearby and the CHC provides a comfortable place to rest after exploring the Gila Forest. Dogs are welcome! We will ask to return later this year to continue our exploration of the area. Thank you.

Absolute serenity -- Sandy's guest house is immaculately maintained, thoughtfully decorated, and adorned with a beautiful garden full of birds of all varieties. The views are truly epic: New Mexico's high desert mountains both near and far, Bear Creek right outside the backdoor, and unmatched dark sky stargazing with the Milky Way and stars stretching from horizon to horizon. What can beat taking in this scenery while also sitting in a hot tub taking it all in? Sandy also provides fresh baked bread and organic coffee and other breakfast items that get each day started on the right foot. Sandy is also highly responsive and available for any questions, and cheerfully provides great advice on local hikes/activities/restaurants. Local hiking opportunities are also top-notch and offer a variety of options, including summiting 9000 ft peaks, canyon hikes through multicolored towering rocks, and naturally occurring hot springs. We will be back!

Jennifer's place was fantastic for 2 months of working in the area! She and her team did an amazing job with responsiveness and solutions when any minor issues surfaced. The location was perfect, AC and wifi were great, super quiet, and the dark shades were amazing for crashing out early to be up at 4am the next day for work! Highly recommend booming with Jennifer for your accommodations, I would again in a heartbeat given the oppurtunity. Thanks again for welcoming up your home to others!

I considered not reviewing so that I could keep this place a secret - it’s amazing! It is located on amazing property that is truly in the middle of the forest, but is easy get to. It is so quiet and peaceful there. It was very clean and had everything we needed! As a bonus there was an instapot that allowed us to make delicious chicken soup after being out in the winter snow. Another bonus was a water cooler that offered hot water to easily make my tea. Probably the best feature is the outdoor hot tub under a patio cover. We sat in it one evening while the snow fell. It was a great place to celebrate our anniversary!

Great stay, loved the hot tub and views. Secluded and peaceful but still had good access to grocery stores, etc.

The Painted Pony Resort offers luxury accommodation in a private, peaceful setting. We'd absolutely recommend Glen and his beautiful place for a wedding, family reunion, vacation with friends, or a writing workshop/retreat. Watching the stars every night from the hot tub(s) ended each day in a most enjoyable way. I'd visit again.
