I loved my stay in this absolutely peaceful, cozy cabin. That view is incredible and I spent hours on the porch soaking it in. It was the exact quiet getaway I was hoping for and served as a great home base as I explored the nearby fossil units. Amanda was wonderfully helpful with any questions I had. I would highly recommend staying here!

We were road weary and ready to do some relaxing. We drove up and our family was pleasantly surprised at our accommodations. Patti has a well stocked home and there is thoughtfulness and care it seems setting up their guests for a comfortable experience at her place. Farm fresh eggs? Snacks? Beverages?Above and beyond, beds were comfortable as were the couches, and we were bordering exhaustion from all the activities in the area, so it was nice to have a comfortable home base. Thank you again for everything.

Very comfortable place. Great spot for star gazing with very low ambient light in the area. Nice porches with plenty of furniture—both front and back porch. Very quiet at night. Great river views. Really enjoyed our 3 night stay while traveling to/from the various John Day Fossil Bed sites.

Simply amazing!!! I highly recommend! I soaked for hours, the outdoor tub is the best! Hot water never ran out and the views were so beautiful! Very private. The house is so beautiful and comfortable! I really enjoyed my stay. I appreciate the flexibility with one night minimum but ended up booking two nights and so glad I did. I think the longer the better. Host was always responsive and very nice.

Stellar Cabin was such a cozy and inviting place! It’s surrounded by beautiful scenery and there’s so much to do and see around the area! If you’re looking for a getaway to relax and enjoy some nature this is the place to go! Jody was very welcoming and friendly. She made sure we would have everything we needed and be comfortable. Would highly recommend a stay at Stellar Cabin.

The home was clean, comfortable, and easy to find. We visited in late March and it snowed while we were there. It was so nice to use the pellet fireplace and watch the snow. The house was a great balance of minimalist and cute homey touches. There was plenty of space for us to distribute our belongings around the house (traveling with a young child), while having the household basics and decorations to make it feel like a home. It was a lovely home in a small town that does not have a lot of lodging options. We were grateful to find it and stay there.

Awesome place for a large group! Had every kitchen gadget for cooking meals.

Happy Talk is an absolutely cozy, comfortable and cute. Felt at home from the moment we walked in. It was super clean throughout. We will absolutely stay here again when we come back to explore the area more rather than just pass through.

Nice place. Easy to find, within walking distance to everything in town. Gas powered “wood burning” stove along with the furnace really warmed the place up at night. It was so well stocked with everything. Coffee, advil, towels, soaps, tooth pastes. Very well decorated and themed for the season (fall).
