Great Australian Bight : séjours à la ferme

Lovely unique accomodation on beautiful grounds, we chose the location as a spot in the South of the Barossa that was easy access to everywhere we wanted to go. Under an hour from home in Adelaide and only a short drive to all the spots we wanted to explore. The hosts were informative, friendly, welcoming and keen to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Thank you Marijan and Peter, we will book again for sure :)

We had a perfect stay at Briony and Bill’s little slice of paradise! We loved our little cottage, with lots of special little touches like original artwork, vintage cutlery and furniture, and a lovely fresh loaf of sourdough and delicious butter for our breakfast. Briony and Bill are so lovely and friendly and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend some quiet time in the Adelaide Hills. Special mention to the king size bed upstairs which is super comfortable and cosy!

Jacqueline was a lovely host, very communicative and more than happy to give recommendations. The breakfast foods dropped off just before our stay were very welcome. Being in the middle of a regional area and a converted barn, know that there might be some bugs that make their way in. The property is rustic and imperfect (echo the comments about the bath), but has all the creature comforts you'd need in WiFi, air conditioning, fans, etc. and is warmly decorated. Beautiful location to do a bit of nighttime star-gazing.

We both loved our stay at Redwing Farm! Loved the peaceful farm experience with the animals, games and facilities around the accomodation. We will definitely stay again!! Thank you Nicola and Damien

If you’re looking for a unique experience I highly recommend Emelie‘s Blue Barn! Lovely location surrounded by nature, very friendly (and cuddly) animals and Emelie as an inspiring host always available for questions. I wish I could have stayed longer.

This was such an excellent get away. It’s even more beautiful in real life than the photos and the house has everything you need. They think about All the little touches and make you feel at home. Their response was 10/10 and they are such kind and helpful hosts. This was our second stay and would definitely recommend anyone who wants a private and relaxing getaway.

We had a great stay at the Barn at Mount Torrens which was hosted by Sarah and Nathan. There was plenty of space for our family of 8 + dogs. We also had interstate family join us. There was plenty of room to park their caravan. The kitchen was well equipped, plenty of utensils and crockery. The bathrooms were a great size. It was quite warm for our first couple of days, and we found the air con to cool down the whole space. The fans assisted with pushing the cool air into the bedrooms. The surroundings and views were beautiful - very serene. Local wildlife visited in the distance - mainly kangaroos and rabbits. The grassed area which overlooked the dam was great for our dogs. You could walk into Mt Torrens via the back road. This was the safer option - the road out the front of the property was quite busy. The property is set back quite a distance from the road so there was very little traffic noise. Thanks Sarah and Nathan for a fab stay!

Our farmstay in Bow Bridge is just what I imagined it would be. Beautifully and tastefully designed with a plush looking bed, it was all so clean and perfectly made like it was all brand new. electric blanket for the winter, fluffy down quilt and heated towel rail and air con for hot days. The sheep were all different colours and munching peacefully all day outside the windows in the paddocks surrounding our cabin. I loved taking pics of them. Viv responded quickly whenever I texted or rang her, she was helpful and friendly. Her property and house was green and beautiful. it was just what we needed after being on the road for days. for something special stay with Viv.

We stayed at Sue's place for the last 2 nights of our 6 day honeymoon on Kangaroo Island. It was our favourite location and accommodation for the trip. The views are spectacular, the local kangaroos very friendly and the house beautifully decorated with everything you could ever possibly need. Close to beautiful beaches such as Snellings Beach and Western River Cove. We enjoyed an amazing lunch at The Fig Tree restaurant which is also very close to Sue's place and also enjoyed cooking on the BBQ at Sue's while enjoying the sunset. The house and location captures the essence of the best things about Australia, thank you Sue, we will most definitely be back, Anne and Tim.

This is a very peaceful spot on the globe. Great to escape the hustle and bustle of cities. It was summer and the air con worked a charm - it was 37 degrees outside! My family and I had a great time! Ps: I forgot my earphones and Mark promptly posted it to my house, so kind! Definitely a perfect break! Thank you Mark and Fiona for providing such a wonderful service.

Sasha kindly upgraded us from the cottage to the main house for our mid-week stay. The home is totally unique with Donnybrook stone walls and quirky French inspired decor. The beds were so comfortable and waking to the noises of bird song glorious. X

The Granary is a lovely little spot in a peaceful vineyard and provided us a perfect base for day trips. The space is a gorgeous stone granary that has a wonderful garden and inside has everything you could need. The history of the place is fascinating and beautifully incorporated into the space. There was a range of fresh provisions left which we truly appreciated. The bathroom is huge and everything so well provided for. The local beach is a 5 minute drive away and has a great SLSC - as well as amazing sunsets. Restaurants cafes and gorgeous towns and vineyards all surround this lovely spot. Would recommend.

Definitely one of the best AirBnBs we have stayed in during our trip. Olivia goes out of her way to make you feel at home. Her cooking is such a nice bonus and really adds to the stay at the Barn. We really enjoyed sitting on the deck and enjoying the scenery. The location is perfect for visiting the Barossa. All of the highlights are just a short drive from the Barn. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Although the surrendering areas were stunning with lots to do, The Millery was so lovely and comfortable that we didn’t want to waste a minute by leaving it! The food provisions were very generous with a lovely bottle of wine. We struggled a bit with the fire but that was the operators and not the equipment! Loved the outdoor bath (so did the earwig who was rapidly thrown overboard)! Starting our stay with a massage was a great idea and Bernice and Carmel are fantastic. All in all, this brief stay was just what we needed after our personal “annus horribilis” so a big thank you to Richard and Bernice for sharing this slice of heaven with us.
