A hidden gem! We had a lovely long weekend here at the wonderful Stables - lots to do in the area, nice and peaceful with a range of local walks. Only 20 minutes on the train to Manchester - we will definitely be staying here again!

Lovely home and perfectly located, easy to find with lots of things to see and do around. The hot tub was our highlight for a nice relaxing wind down. The host was exceptionally response, kind and even offered us a later check out which sadly we couldn't do, but any other time would have been ideal!! Would absolutely make this a frequent place for us to stay x

The cottage was lovely.. it was spotless and well equipped with everything you need . I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in glossop. The host s have thought of everything. They have well deserved all the awards . And hopefully continue to get more . Thank you for letting us stay in your home . The picture s you have put up don’t do it justice, it is 100 times better. We will be back to stay again

The Old Barn is spacious and comfortable - just watch for some low hanging lights if you are tall! The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking. The hot tub is great and the whole place is private. There is a narrow, steep track to get down to the lodges, but the roads and parking on the site itself are good.

10/10 4 night stay at squirrel cottage, its a total home from home, so welcoming & cosey. my children loved their own private hot tub also. i personally loved the free standing bath tub with TV. House was spottles from top to bottom. would defo reccomend to people, my friends & family are already looking to book a stay. thank you for your amamzing hospitalty. we will defo be back.

Me and my partner had the best weekend away here. Hot tub was great, had a really relaxing weekend, very peaceful. The place was lovely, cosy and clean, and the host was super friendly and welcoming. The location was great, within walking distance to Hollingworth Lake which made for a beautiful stroll. Would definitely recommend this place to friends and family and would love to stay again!

We had a wonderful stay at Matthew and Rachel’s lovely cottage. It was beautifully presented, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. Their hospitality was excellent, and we truly felt at home. If we’re ever in the area again, we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended!

This place is perfect, even nicer in person. Beautifully decorated, amazing views and great location if you want to get out and about. Sarah was a great host. Will definitely be back again soon. Thank you!

Linda’s place was the perfect base for visiting our friends and family in the valley. Attention to detail was second to none, the cottage had everything you needed and excellent value for money. Host provided with basic amenities such as tea, coffee and milk. Even an option of various wines to choose from which to me is above and beyond. Linda was a very communicative host throughout our stay. Mill cottage was spotless. We will definitely book here again. Thank you so much ☺️

The cottage was perfect for us, a couple with a dog… so single bedroom not used. Kitchen well equipped, comfy bed, modern bathroom and secure garden for the dog. The two pubs a 5 min walk away were both brilliant. Pizza in Papermill great and more restaurant type food in the lovely Old Hall. A walk along the tramway trail to the village amenities perfect for dog and us and in other direction to the canal system and Naviigation pub lovely. All in all a perfect stay! Would highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay. Jill was super responsive and accommodating which made our stay extra nice and comforting. The house is very well looked after with everything you may need for a weekend away or even longer stay. Jill offered great recommendations for local restaurants which there was plenty of. The surrounding area was great for walking, farm shops and local goods. It was very easy to get to the national park which is what we needed. Absolutely loved our stay!

Angela was a great host, and the property was lovely. In beautiful countryside and was very peaceful. We stayed for a nearby wedding and the location was perfect for that, and the dog sitting service was fab!

Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour chez Maggie et Steve! Cette petite maison est située dans une petite rue pavée typiquement anglaise tout à fait charmante. Le lieu est calme avec un parc au bout de la rue. La maison est à l’image de son environnement : charmante également. Elle est joliment décorée, très cosy et surtout parfaitement équipée ce qui était particulièrement appréciable avec nos 3 enfants. Nous avons eu des échanges charmants avec Maggie et Steve qui nous ont donné toutes les indications nécessaires pour que notre séjour se passe au mieux. Bref nous sommes ravis! Merci

What an amazing place and amazing hosts. Michelle and Mark were brilliant and easy to communicate with. The house is beautifully renovated and decorated, the wooden floors throughout are professionally fitted even with the uneven old stone walls of the building. The views over the valley are worth getting up early for especially when the weathers nice as it’s south facing and you see the sun rise over the hills on the other side of the valley. We will definitely come back next time we are in the area. Big thank you to Michelle and Mark for everything.

Having just been to stay at Liz’s place I echo all the other reviews. The property is BEAUTIFULLY arranged, newly done and the decor is so restful and has a confident and simple elegance about it. It wasn’t a part of the Peak District we knew well but there is so much to see and do I am sure we will be back. Chinley is such a lovely little place - so convenient for local shops and restaurants. We enjoyed a Cafe Bombay takeaway but the property is so well equipped that it would have been very well set up for cooking, with oil, vinegar, salt, stock cubes and a few basic spices provided - again very thoughtful! Liz had done everything she could to make us feel special and welcome. We had a wonderful day at Lyme Park with beautiful weather - a please recommended by Liz. We would highly recommend this place.

We had a fab time staying with Kate and Adrian. The cottage was immaculate and stocked with all sorts of goodies, we felt right at home. In a great location in the village, close to a few pubs and restaurants and a village shop, and plenty of walks nearby. We can't wait to come back again soon, and hopefully tackle Kinder Scout!

Lovely cottage that was perfect for our needs. We enjoyed winter walks and coming back to the cottage and lighting the wood stove. Would definitely consider booking again.

Absolutely lovely place to stay.. Sue was great throughout the messages we exchanged… spotless clean everywhere… lovely gesture of bread, biscuits, milk, butter, flowers a bottle of fiz chilled too. Everything you possibly need there condiments… washing up liquid, fire wood… I could go on for ages 🤣 lovely area for walks and scenery. We will definitely be coming again. Thanks again Sue 😁
