This Airbnb exceeded my expectations! The place is thoughtfully decorated, with every detail well taken care of and all the amenities you could possibly need. It’s also very quiet, making it perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway. I would definitely stay here again if I have the chance!

This house was perfect for our trip to the Shenandoah Valley. It felt completely secluded with an amazing view, but only a few minutes away from the grocery store and local restaurants. The kitchen was well equipped, so eating in was not a problem. We ended every day with grilling, and enjoying the fire pit and hot tub. It was extremely restful and relaxing! The neighbors dogs occasionally visited, so if you hate wonderfully friendly dogs, this may not be the place for you. ;) 5 Stars. Will be back.

We loved our stay at The Birds Nest. it was the perfect distance between Shenandoah National Park and Charlottesville and we explored both. Beautiful place!

From the moment we walked through the door we felt like we were in a home away from home. The coziest welcoming enveloping us in and drawing us closer. The decor was beautiful, the design stunning, the paint. colors magical and it just felt so cozy. My three year old loved the swing in the room (such a novelty) and the kitchen was easy to cook in. We wanted to box the house up and take it with us. The beds were cozy and warm and we loved all the extra blankets (and heaters) during the cold season. Thank you for creating such a welcoming space.

I wanted a place close to Skyline Drive with a fireplace. Got it! Tons of firewood provided, though wet and difficult to burn. Bring an ax so you can make thinner pieces. Not meaning to be negative, only to help set expectations: If you do a lot of camping and want a step up and quick access to Shenandoah NP, this is great. If you are used to 2 and 3 star hotels, not your place. It is pretty beat up and not the kind of place you can get super clean. Like another reviewer, I too cleaned my dishes before I used them the first time. Beds are old but were good enough for me. About the road to the place: Most people have SUVs now so this won't be a problem: The half-mile road up to the place is very rough. But, I very carefully did it in my 20-year old Corolla. Finally, wow, the big deck and being surrounded by trees around you is really great; and when the leaves are down you can see the sunrise. So all in all, great location; just think of it as being on the rustic side :-)

We’re an outdoorsy family and we all loved our stay in Glenn’s home, right by the water with easy to launch area for the kayaks, no light pollution at night to watch a blanket of stars in the sky. Our fur baby loved it just as much and took a liking to Glenn. Thank you and hope to be back this summer!!!

Perfect place for a weekend getaway. The house is exactly how it was advertised. Beautiful views. Well stocked kitchen. And extremely comfortable beds with super soft sheets and comforters! I am glad I read the reviews and took the hosts suggestion to bring our SUV over our sedan. The house is situated on top of a mountain and therefore the road leading up to it was a little steep and unpaved. The 4x4 vehicle was great and once we were at the house, we didn’t want to leave because the views are incredible. Thanks for a great time. We will be back!

Our family of four spent two nights at Callie's Cottage. We had a great time enjoying the trails, fishing the pond, and watching the horses. Our kids had a lot of fun playing in the treehouse. The house was cozy, clean and well appointed.
