Great location, clean and comfortable, exceptional hosts, superb value. I stayed for a month and cannot say enough good things about the experience. The location allows for easy access to the entire southeastern Costa Rica coast, whether by foot to nearby Manzanillo; by bike (provided free by the hosts) to Puerto Viejo; or by the reliable bus service to Cahuita or Limon, with a stop at the end of the driveway. The place isn't luxurious, more a cottage than a home, but that's reflected in the price and it met all my needs during a lengthy stay. And the hosts were friendly and more than happy to answer any questions or to assist with any help that I needed. I'd happily stay again and recommend to friends and family.

Eric was a fantastic host! He helped us arrange for a personal chef who prepared a delicious Caribbean meal and also provided excellent dinner recommendations. The check-in and check-out process was seamless The house itself was spectacular! It was open to the outside, allowing us to fully appreciate the beautiful surroundings. we loved the unique experience of enjoying nature from every part of the house. We spotted a variety of wildlife, including a black and green dart frog, anoles, chachalacas, and a toucan! Whenever we wanted to take a dip, we simply strolled into the pool, which was always at the perfect temperature. We loved the well-stocked kitchen, plenty of towels, spacious bedrooms and beds, and safes in every room and the ample bug repellent. Every day, we made our way down the private path to the stunning black sand beach. We can’t wait to return! If I could wave a magic wand, I’d wish for a few beach chairs to complete the experience. 😉

The place was great! The cabin was private, surrounded by nature, and a great view spot for animals. The cabin was also very well built and lots of space for lounging and other activities. Benno and his wife were very friendly and helpful for whenever we needed something. All of the restaurants and shops were within a reasonable walking distance and the beach was also very close by. So overall a very great a place and we highly recommend staying here.

Thanks for a wonderful stay! We were lucky to stay here for 2 weeks and wish we could have stayed longer. The house is breezy and cool after the sun goes down. The walk to the beach is less than a minute. We really liked that it was close enough to town to bike or walk to the restaurants and fun —- but also far enough away that it was quiet and peaceful. If I can make a recommendation please ask for Chef Priscilla’s contact info after you book. She is a talented chef who offered several different menus to choose from before coming to cook at the house. The most enjoyable and relaxing meals we ate in Puerto Viejo!! Also a shout out to Sarah and Rise Vacation Rentals— your kindness and hospitality is something we won’t forget. Thanks Karen and David— we can’t wait to return!

Alright, where do I even begin?! Our family stay was absolutely perfect. The location was fantastic – private and peaceful, yet close enough to everything we wanted to explore. We felt completely safe and secure, which is always a huge plus when traveling with family. The property itself was immaculate! Spotlessly clean, and the pool was truly the star of the show – we spent hours splashing and relaxing. Ricardo was a super star when it came to recommendations. We took their advice and arranged for breakfast with the recommended chef on our second day and it was delicious! Honestly, this place is exactly what you need for a relaxing getaway. It's clear they have put a lot of thought and care into making it a wonderful experience for their guests. The communication was top-notch, and the check-in/check-out process was a breeze. We had such a fantastic time, and we're already dreaming of returning! We wholeheartedly recommend this place. Thank you for everything!

Absolutely beautiful! Sharon was very nice and helpful. Walking distance to black sand beaches and restaurants. We rented scooters for a few days and traveled around. So many beautiful beaches and fun restaurants. The water was perfect! It was a long travel to get there and I’d do it again in a heartbeat!
