We absolutely loved staying here. The villa is so well taken care of by Yolanda's father-in-law, with gorgeous outdoor plants. The interior of the villa is immaculate and contains every we needed to feel completely at home. We especially loved having a good-working, log-burning fireplace. It helped warm us up in the chilly mornings. Capulalpam is a very special place. We've been to many of Mexico's 600 magical pueblos and this is our favorite. The air is clean, the water is drinkable and delicious, and the people are some of the friendliest, peaceful people we've met in Mexico. I highly recommend Yolanda's place. Just be forewarned that the hills are at least twice as steep as the steepest in San Fran. You will get a work-out walking up and down them into town, which is only a 10-minute walk. There are also many trails to hike, and you can even hike to the next towns on an easy trail.

Great Family onsite taking care of every need you will have from cooking great meals to starting your fire each night. Host is local to the areas for their entire lives and have knowledge of great hiking. One of the most relaxing trips ever.

We had a wonderful visit to Calpulálpam de Mendez thanks to Yolanda, Marta, and David! The cabin was very comfortable and cozy, staying cool even when the daytime temperature spiked and staying warm enough overnight for a restful sleep -- plus, they even provided firewood for the fireplace. Marta gave us great local recommendations via chat, and everyone we spoke with in town (in Spanish, never heard a word of English) throughout our stay was incredibly nice. We hired a local driver from Oaxaca City to take us to and from the pueblo. The more affordable alternative seemed to be taking a colectivo van from outside the city to Ixtlán, then hiring a cab from Ixtlán to Capu (but we didn't take that approach because we had some luggage and have limited Spanish skills). However you get to Capu, please make the effort to visit this peaceful mountain town and pay respect to their community :)

We enjoyed our stay at this Cabin. It was one of the cleanest places we have rented. Wilberto and his wife were amazing hosts, they immediately responded when we needed with great attitude. The cabin is confortable, enjoyable patio, and beautiful surrenders. It is few minutes driving to Ixtlan and Guelatao. We already rented it twice and we definitely would rent it again.
