We had the pleasure of staying at this lovely home for one night with our two ten-year-old children, and we truly wish we could have stayed longer. We arrived on a special day—during a local festival with parades and celebrations—when this usually quiet town came alive. Our hosts welcomed us with warm and kind hosting hospitality. They kindly allowed us to check in early, explained everything with patience and warmth, and gave us great recommendations so we could make the most of the festival. Their generosity and attentiveness made us feel truly cared for. The house itself is very comfortable, peaceful, and well-equipped with everything we needed. Even though our stay was short, it felt like a perfect place for a family. With more time, there’s plenty to explore in this area. It’s definitely a place worth returning to. Thank you so much for your kindness and the beautiful experience.

Great place to stay in Takayama. It's clean and well equipped. Loved the beautiful river view right out from the window. It's a short walk to the Miyagawa morning market and other attractions in the town. Hajime-san was very responsive and kind too. Will definitely choose this place again for future trips to Takayama. Thank you!

Honestly, probably one of the best Airbnbs we have ever stayed at. The house was beautifully furnished and thoughtfully stocked. Kitchen had everything we needed and the complimentary granola / yogurt / milk / coffee was very appreciated. Even though we were there at the tail end of winter (even snowed a few times during our stay at the end of March 2025), the house was warm and comfortable between the wood burning stove and heater. Due to the location up on the hill a bit out of town, it was a nice and quiet place to unwind away from the touristy areas. That being said, if you have any mobility issues or large luggage, I would not recommend for you given the number of stairs / steep slopes you would need to transverse. Unfortunately, we didn't have any clear weather days during our stay, so didn't get to enjoy the view from the garden, but I can imagine it would be glorious in better weather. Communication was easy, check in / out was a breeze. Would love to visit again!!

The place was relatively easy to find and allocated parking was just 1 min away. we got the whole place to ourselves. The shower and toilet is at level 1 while kitchen, living room and bedroom at level 2. It is a cozy traditional japanese home. The shower room need some getting used to, however. Overall a great place and located near many amenities.

Wat Resort has the most perfect location! It is wonderful for a group of friends with a large communal area to socialise in, spacious bedrooms and a gorgeous and well equipped kitchen area. We absolutely loved our stay here. You re right in the center of everything and everyting is walking distance. Takayama has a village ‘feel’ to it and is enchanting during springtime. Will return in a heartbeat!

It’s a nice place to stay, would be even better if there’s a curtain inside the room to block the sunlight in early mornings.

We had a great stay at Amy's place. The location is perfect, really close to the main tourist sights and the downtown bars and restaurants. The apartment had everything we needed, comfortable futons, and a strong hot shower. Check in and check out were fast and easy. I'll very happily stay there again next time I'm in Kanazawa.

We had a comfortable and enjoyable stay in this Airbnb. Shuji and Sachi were great hosts, extremely responsive and helpful. All the amenities were accurately provided as per the listing. This apartment is also conveniently located - just a few minutes walk from the station. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here.

Easy to get to, nice hot showers, room is cozy and the desk and chair were really nice to have, especially for a tall person like me.

Die Unterkunft war toll. Wir haben uns wie Zuhause gefühlt. Sie ist sehr geräumig und hat alles, was man braucht. Auch die Nähe zum Stadkern und zum Bahnhof war sehr toll. Außerdem war es sehr Babyfreundlich. Wir sind mit unserem 9 Monate alten Sohn gereist und es gab einen Babysitz am Tisch, einen Windelmülleimer und auch extra Handtücher für den Kleinen - das kriegen die meisten Hotels und Unterkünfte nicht auf die Reihe. Sollten wir je nach Takayama zurückkehren kommen wir auf jeden Fall wieder in diese Unterkunft.

Comfortable place, lots of amenities, and very good location! The hosts label everything in the apartment, which is very helpful. At first, I was worried that we might hear the train based on how close the train tracks are to the place, but we never heard them at all. Very quiet neighborhood and easy to walk to all the main sites, or get around on public transit at the station.

Wonderful experience staying at Villa Mitoreya. It's not your usual Airbnb, it's a lot more. The house is amazingly built with beautiful views and Tsuyoshi was an excellent host. He was present to welcome us, he went out of his way to drive us to a nearby restaurant so we didn't have to worry about parking and having a drink. His breakfast were delicious with many small details. It was like having a personal chef at home. We really enjoyed the peaceful environment and watching the local train pass in front of the house. It was like being in a Ghibli movie.
