Perfect little off the grid getaway. The bed was bigger than expected and so was the space! Would definitely come back to experience the space during snow.

It’s small, but that’s what we were looking for, as we spent a lot of time away from the cabin. The cabin contained everything that we needed, and was not overstuffed with extra stuff.

I had a an amazing stay! The communication was amazing, Suzanne was a great help with local recommendations. Everything was as described & her property was gorgeous. There was some walking trails to explore, a beautiful balcony to watch the stars and enjoy. Will come back to enjoy another stay!

We had an amazing stay at the bungalow! It was very warm for the off season and the area is beautiful! If you are planning on cooking while there I would bring your own knives but the kitchen is lovely and very functional!

Rick and Karens place was an absolutely beautiful relaxing getaway. It was a perfect central point to all we had planned for the weekend. It was so peaceful, we had the chance to see a few very nice deer right out front as we watched the sunrise. I would highly recrecommend anyone to take advantage of this space. The house was spotless and provided anything you could need for a very relaxing getaway. I look foreward to returning.

We were up in Brooklin for a Wedding. Usually we stay with family on Deer Isle, but decided to try something different this trip. The Blue Hill Bay House was perfect for us. It was very clean, had everything we needed, coastal views and sunrises were amazing!! We would definitely stay there again, and recommend The Lookout for anyone in need of a place to stay when in the area. Thank you Butch!

Absolutely amazing place. What a one of kind stay with so much history. The location right on the water was perfect and exactly what we were looking for. Host made some great local suggestions we enjoyed a lot as well!!!

Lura’s place was dreamy. Everything about it, from the campfire to the upstairs bedroom. We had also forgot to bring certain things and this house had EVERYTHING we needed. Only 20 min away from Bar harbor… 10/10

The tiny house was adorable and organized really well! It was equipped with most of what we needed. I would say that it is the tiniest tiny home we’ve stayed in so take that into consideration. It was extremely clean and looked brand new! The location is really great! Walkable to town and water. Very quiet area with really welcoming nice people.

These cabins are in one of the prettiest areas of Maine - I love the natural flowers and plants around the buildings that let you hear the birds sing and see interesting wildlife (nothing scary!) - the cabin makes us want to duplicate it somewhere - but it’s comfortable fully equipped and stayed in cooler weather and the fireplace kept us very warm.

Swans Island is quiet and beautiful, and Gregory's place is well-provisioned whether you want to stay inside and watch movies on a stormy day or venture out to explore. The house is comfortable with a cozy but spacious upstairs and shelves of books, board games, and puzzles. The kitchen is stocked with dishes and cooking utensils as well as a large refrigerator. The crows nest is a huge feature, we spent many hours sat up there watching the sky change around us; it is beautifully constructed and truly unique! The ferry provided consistent access to the mainland and made Acadia reasonably within reach (with some get up and go and awareness of time later in the day), and it was wonderful to see the park in all its winter glory. This was an excellent stay and great value, and just the kind of quiet we were hoping for!

My husband and I had a great stay. We really enjoyed the fire pit outside in the evenings. The home was very cozy and had everything we needed. Close drive to Bangor.

My partner and I stayed at this lovely tiny home for the weekend and had the BEST time! Everything about this place is amazing. Very clean, private, accurately described, super cozy! We actually had plans in the area and cancelled them to stay at the tiny home, it’s so so great!! Absolutely recommend staying here if you’re looking for a private get away! We would love to come back!

This location is absolutely beautiful. It’s a cute little place that is enjoyable to wake up, drink coffee, and enjoy the views. It was perfect for our family. I reached out to host a couple times for questions and they were super responsive and helpful. They have everything available for you too: games, fishing poles, fire starters, kayaking. They thought of it all! The roads to the house are super bumpy and uneven ha. We learned to navigate around the ruts like pros by the end of the week. You won’t be disappointed if you stay here.

My family and I, along with my two dogs, had a fantastic time! The cabin was incredibly charming with beautiful views. If you're seeking a relaxing getaway, this is the place to be! Toby was extremely helpful and responsive. He answered all my questions and assisted me in finding the cabin when I got lost. I would definitely return again! This listing is an absolute gem! We decided that we needed a bit of an off-the-grid reset for our honeymoon and The Happy Loon delivers. Mandi and Michael are lovely hosts. They are responsive and take excellent care of their guests while still very much respecting and preserving the sense of privacy that an off-grid cabin brings. The cabin itself is dreamlike; well-furnished, well-built, and equipped with all the amenities you could dream of! you can tell how loved We took full advantage of the paddleboards, firepit, grills, and enjoyed some lovely walks on the drives leading to the cabin. The road getting in can be a bit rough (as you'd expect!) but the instructions given by the hosts are incredibly clear. If you're looking for somewhere peaceful, beautiful, and comfortable to spend your trip but aren't quite sure yet, take this leap! You won't be disappointed.

I loved my stay at the Bay Meadow Cottages!! I took advantage of the fresh blueberry pie and homemade ice cream they keep on the property! About a 10 minute drive from downtown Bar Harbor. Kirsten was so sweet and gave lots of local recommendations! I hope to be back in Maine soon so I can stay here again!

We loved our stay in Lily's Gypsy Wagon. The wagon was comfy and cozy. The location was breathtaking and we enjoyed the sights and sounds of nature all around us. The campsite had everything we needed including plenty of seating, a wood deck, a firepit and a grill tucked into the trees but overlooking the water. The beach provides an amazing view of the Islands of Acadia national park, and was in a constant state of transformation as the tide came in and out. Our stay was exactly what we needed to relax and recharge. Thanks Lily!

We had an absolutely unforgettable stay at this cabin! The location was perfect, just a short walk to the beach where we enjoyed breathtaking views and even got lucky enough to see the northern lights while stargazing one night—truly magical! The cabin itself was pristine and cozy, with every detail thoughtfully designed to make us feel at home. We especially loved starting our mornings with coffee on the porch, soaking in the peaceful surroundings. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect getaway and can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend!

I happened to be reading Byrd's book Alone (1937), about him staying alone in a hut in Antarctica. Byrd says that he had the desire to experience being alone "to taste peace and quiet and solitude long enough to find out how good they really are." That's what I found here (but unlike Byrd, I didn't have to deal with the cold and I had hot running water and other modern conveniences).

What a beautiful location! We had such an amazing time on our honeymoon staying at Sunset Cottages and visiting Acadia all week long!! It was such a quiet peaceful location that felt like the perfect home away from home! We would love to return in the future someday for an anniversary! : )

This is a great place to get away! Beautiful cabin with pretty surroundings. Cabin is cozy and very clean. Comfortable beds and living room area! Amy has great communication and responds quickly. She ensures her guests have a good stay. Highly recommend this cabin!

We stayed here during the fall and got to enjoy all of the fall colors on the property! It is a bit out of the way of Bar Harbor, if you’re visiting Acadia, but for the price and rustic feel of the space you can deal with the drive.
