We spent 5 nights here at the end of March and start of April 2025. We were really fortunate with the weather and took full advantage of the wonderful location: scaling Slight Side and Scafell on one day, riding to Coniston via the bridleway on another and 'bagging' most of the Coniston fells on another day via Wrynose Pass. We ate in on a couple of nights and also went to the Wainwright's for some pub grub, as well as Stoves for their evening menu. Simon and Belinda's place is very well situated in Great Langdale for all kinds of walks and rides, food and decent pints. The house itself is a lovely place to return to in the evening with easy parking outside for our van and once inside, everything is spotless, well equipped and cosy. We really appreciated all the helpful information on bike routes and walking routes and spent the late evenings by the fire pouring over the Wainwright books planning the next day's adventures. 100% recommended.

Charming cottage well renovated, with everything you need, fantastic location for walks/cycling and a short drive to other attractions, would definitely come back, the views alone make you feel lucky to be here.

The location was amazing and the views were spectacular. This home was exactly what it said on the tin. We were all blown away by it and had beautiful weather to make the most of the outdoor area. The only thing we did notice was that there wasn’t enough wine glasses & champagne flutes. Not ideal when there was 8 women so we had to use half pint glasses. We could have also done with more dishwasher tablets to last the stay. Apart from that it was perfect. Thank you.

We had an amazing few night away, it was just what we were looking for. Peaceful, beautiful cottage in the Countryaide perfect for a couples get away. We had good weather and stargazing in the hot tub is a must! Well stocked kitchen so took advantage of cooking and relaxing infront of the log burner which is perfect when it gets chilly in the evenings. Sarah and Stew were so welcoming and friendly while we were there, had lots of reccomendations for things to do nearby (definitely go to Catmel and get some sticky toffee pudding) and were nearby and responsive to messages if you needed help with anything at all.

Fantastic location. However it is on a main road. I did know that in advance and wasn’t too noisy anyways. The cottage is lovely and spacious but the windows do need a bit of love. They will need replacing soon as they don’t close well. The hot tub was super and well needed after a day out on the bike or out hiking. Really enjoyed the short break and the sun shone for all the days I was here.

We had a lovely week away at Mark and Ruth’s cottage. The private access to the lake was perfect for our beginner paddle boarding skills, as well as relaxing. A great location to explore the wider Lake District too. Our son loved the magical fairy visits!

Bank House Cottage is an exceptional cottage to stay at. Hosts Veronica and Alan were wonderful, giving local recommendations and ensuring that everything was perfect for our stay. The cottage itself is beautiful and has an interesting history. It was sparkling clean and had all the amenities you could ask for. We also availed of the Hot Tub which was luxurious and very relaxing. We would thoroughly recommend a stay at the cottage and hope to return in the future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Emma's place. The secure garden was great for our dog to roam whilst we relaxed in the hot tub at the end of the day following plenty of walking around the Lakes. The cottage itself has loads of character but everything you need for your stay. We were fortunate to have the weather to make use of the gas BBQ. Emma was very welcoming and chilled with the fact we had a good run up and arrived half an hour before check-in time. Nothing was too much trouble and the fresh eggs were delicious! The cottage is just a 10 minute drive from Windermere, (20 minutes to Ambleside, 30 minutes to Grizedale forest), so whilst it's not in the throng of all us tourists, we benefited from the peace and quiet when we wanted it, but nothing was too far away. We'd also highly recommend the fish and chip shop in Staveley, just a 4 minute drive down the road. Hopefully we'll be back!

Our second stay at Tethera. Clean, homely, well-equipped and lovely touches lile the welcome pack. Just as lovely as the first time we stayed. We even got to feed lambs. Can't wait to come back. Sarah, Eleanor and Amber 🐾

Windermere Cottage was a perfect spot for exploring the lakes. Plenty of space for 5 adults and a dog with 3 bedrooms all en-suite. A 2 minute walk into Windermere and lots of food and cafe options along with a Co-op, Boots and WHSmiths along with lots of lovely local shops and cafes. The cottage was easy to find, pristine and great facilities. Alison was timely in communication and offered some friendly advice on places to eat as well as providing a lovely bottle of wine and chocolate biscuits on our arrival. Thank you for a lovely stay. Would highly recommend.

Extremely comfortable cottage in a lovely, pretty location. Very well equipped kitchen, great shower and very comfortable bed. Very clean and own parking spot was a bonus. Great comms from Brittany and excellent local recommendations. Looking forward to returning soon. Highly recommend.

Lovely little cottage that had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. Comfy bed, great shower with super nice shower gel, and lots of useful bits and bobs in the kitchen. Lovely surprise to have a bottle of Prosecco and cookies left for us too - thank you! Perfect location for walking into the village, eating at Rogan & Co and exploring the Southern Lakes. We went to Netherwood Spa for a 90 min Thermal Journey which is a 10 min drive, highly recommend after a day of walking! Would definitely come back and stay here again.

What a lovely stay we had at Pauline’s place! It’s ideal if you are looking to bus or drive up to the lakes. It’s also located in the lovely town of Ulverston which has everything you need. The place was just as Pauline described - great facilities for cooking and it was comfortable. We’ll be back!

Lovely cottage, perfectly located to visit a quieter part of the Lake District. Very clean and comfortable with excellent pubs in striking distance.

Lovely few days, home from home and Kathy was the perfect host. Messaged us to let us know we could check in earlier, which was great. A lovely cottage, in a great location, would definitely recommend and stay here again 😊

This was one of the loveliest cottages we have ever stayed at The decor was beautifully done with loads of useful extras. Wonderful location 2 mins from the beach and St Peter's church 1 min away. Great meals at the pub across the road. The village is so quaint and people so friendly. 2 nights just isn't enough so we will definitely be booking again. Catherine is an excellent host, great communication and keen that everything is ok, quick response to queries raised. lovely welcome touch, of milk, cereal, bread, pastries, fruit juice jam, butter and apples and a supply of tea and coffee. Lovely compact cottage with a good kitchen, with a dishwasher and microwave. peaceful and quiet, away from everything but only a short drive in to Kendal

This was the perfect place for a long weekend stay. Very warm, relaxing and peaceful. The lights outside are very nice in the evening with the hot tub and seating area. The home is spacious and cozy. Close to nearby town as well which was convenient.

Lovely location for a quiet getaway. Walkers paradise and not too far from civilisation and a pub meal. Hope to book again!

Spent a few days at Paul's place with a friend. What a lovely cottage, nestled in a quiet location and with a short drive to activities. The beds were comfortable and we both slept soundly. There was a well equipped kitchen, with everything needed to cook and keep on top of washing up and laundry. The relaxing living room had a drawer full off maps and guides and a log burner, with a plentiful supply of logs. Pleasant neighbours living next door. Paul was responsive when messaged. I would recommend this cottage for a peaceful Lake District stay.

Me and my boyfriend had a great time, it was so peaceful and relaxing the hotub was amazing and the cottage was so cosy, it was just what we needed.

We spent a wonderful relaxing week. In the charming cottage. We felt at home right away. The garden is colorfull and full of flowers. The cottage is very cozy and well equipped. Its location by the river just outside Egremont is perfect. With lovely walks and good cycling options. You can easily walk into the town. There is fascinating history to see there . The art centre at the old Florence mine is a gem. All the facilities we needed were available. Great location to explore around to the coast and to the lakes
