History, Character and Comfort Four large, beautifully furnished bedrooms — each with connecting baths — make this fine old home one of the best (and largest) B & Bs in Martinsville. The house is perfect for a family or a group like ours. We were four friends who grew up in Martinsville but no longer live there and wanted a comfortable place to spend time together. The bedrooms—whether you need one or more —are lovely and offer plenty of privacy. This home from the 1920s belonged to one of the city’s oldest families. Inside the rooms feature decorative details that give the house its character. Outside there is a convenient parking lot and a picturesque rear yard/garden. Owner/Host Cynthia is gracious, attentive, and has excellent suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. She is easy to reach and quick to respond if you have any need at all. She made us all feel welcome and we highly recommend her B & B at One Starling.

If you’re choosing to spend time in Martinsville, you clearly have options—and good taste and wisdom. This is one of the most fascinating places in America, and people like Leeland have launched a renaissance here. That’s reason enough to visit, but gear up for the Oakdale—it’s one of the best places you’ll ever stay.

My #1 spot when I'm traveling to Martinsville for work. The host are friendly, and the rooms are comfortable/cozy, and a beautiful space for working. I always feel at home.

The place was really special. The view from the balcony was picturesque. I was just sorry I had to work and couldn't spend more time taking in the views. Michelle did a great job communicating with me. Everything was exactly as proposed. The place had everything I needed and then some. The bed was very comfortable and the bathrooms were very clean. Thank you again and I may be back when work calls.

The mill was a perfect place for us. We love history and the setting was beautiful. For such an old structure we found it to be warm,cozy, beautiful and very comfortable. The floor to ceiling windows were wonderful. We enjoyed taking our E bikes out even at 43*! Very scenic and little to no traffic on the road. Such a gem! Many thanks to the hosts for creating a lovely getaway and sharing it with the rest of us!

It's always a pleasure to stay at Miss Susan and Mr. Tom's charming bed and breakfast. It is beyond comfortable and inviting. The breakfast muffins were just wonderful 😊

Katie is an amazing host and this property was just what we were looking for! Katie was very responsive to all questions and provided clear and detailed instructions for our stay. The property was just as described, the space was clean, and the neighborhood was quiet and calm. If we ever find ourselves back in Danville, we will definitely be reaching out to see if this place is available!

Thank you for a lovely and peaceful stay! The place and atmosphere is beautiful and serene. We especially loved the amazing out of this world dream shower!! The shower alone was worth the stay. I mean you gotta see this amazing spa like shower. Also the host was very kind and attentive and genuine. As far as I'm concerned this is a "must stay" if traveling thru the area. Thanks guys.

If you’re looking for a quiet place with a pieceful surrounding you can’t go wrong with Dannie’s place. Hope to return in the future with my family.
