Jennie’s place was great and she was such an amazing host! The apartment was stocked with so many useful things and it was like she had thought of everything. We arrived in Hilo a couple hours before our check in time and had some things that needed to go in the fridge and Jennie came down and grabbed the food and took it to put in the fridge for us, which was so helpful! The shower curtain rod broke while we’re there and they came and fixed it right away. She also left us a gift card for the local chocolate place downstairs, which we thought was super sweet. She had some great recommendations as well! There was lots of gear to go and enjoy the island (surfboards, boogie board, snorkeling stuff, coolers, etc). It really made the trip that much more enjoyable. The place was right where we could walk to all the restaurants and the farmers market and was so convenient. The place was spotless too! If we ever go back to Hilo we will be booking Jennie’s place again! Highly recommended!

Second time staying at this property and it’s a lovely experience and lovely area off the beaten path. Very quiet and clean. I’m appreciative of the hospitality that both Sharon and Stephen showed me. Will be going back for a 3rd time in the future.

This was a perfect place to stay in Hilo. It is near the old downtown and the famous Hilo market. The apartment has many artistic touches which makes it very homey. Anthony had lots of recommendations about where to eat and what to see. We really enjoyed Hilo and the area surrounding it. Take the drive up to the Mauna Kea Visitor Center for sunset--so worth it. As others have noted, the ceilings are low so if you are tall, look for another place. This wasn't a problem for us.

We only stayed one night but would have loved to stay longer. Christopher’s place was very clean, with a very comfortable bed, peaceful and quiet surroundings, nice location. Hosts were always helpful and responded very quickly in all correspondence.

Excellent stay. The bed was super comfortable and bathroom was clean and roomy. The back porch was awesome... great views and very peaceful. The community outdoor kitchen was well kept and a comfortable place to hang out. The star gazing tower was fun, as well. Excellent off-grid place, and just as described, but far surpassed our expectations of comfort, especially for $ value.

i will remember my Hilo experience forever because of your house! It’s like living in heaven! Love the birds singing! (I never heard bird sounds like this, it has echoes! Want to know the name of the bird;). The modeling of the living area is impressive! Finally want to give extra star to the hot tub! It’s amazing to enjoy it especially when it’s raining! I’ll def come back!!

Great place to stay with family

Mo’s place was as pictured, very clean and in a great location. Check in time was not accurate on the listing & it was actually an hour later but it was not a big deal. The host refused to provide the information on how to check in until the actual check in time & several minutes after that time I had to request it again. The host did respond promptly but after staying in many air bnbs Ive never encountered this and it is stressful after a very long day of travel.. Also the tv is pre-signed into the hosts apps and there were no instructions regarding this. The morning after I signed into my own personal account on an app on the tv that was not presigned into by the host. I received a message regarding my tv viewing and that if I made changes to the tv I could be charged. I made no changes to the tv at any time. Overall a good stay but I was not theilled by the tone of this host’s tone of communication, especially when I had done nothing wrong.

We loved staying at this magical treehouse. Falling asleep to the sound of birds, wildlife, and occasional rain at night was so peaceful. We slept so well! It was incredible to be immersed in nature but to also have great WiFi, very hot water, and a washing machine. We loved the indoor/ outdoor bathrooms and the beautiful woodwork in the house. Beds were super comfortable and the hammock was awesome. Joe is an excellent host. We hope to be back!

Amazing spot and fantastic host with great communication on things to do, heads up on timely things we shouldn’t miss, etc.

***Excellent place*** my wife, two teenage daughters and I stayed here five nights while visiting family on the big island. Probably in my top five Airbnb‘s ever. Extremely comfortable beds, cold AC, perfect location, the lanai is amazing. Kitchen has everything you would need. Yes there is noise being on a busy street, which I was concerned about, being a light sleeper. But between a white noise maker app and earplugs, I slept amazingly well. We will be back!!🤙🏼

Simone’s place is amazing. Located in a safe neighborhood and a walkable distance to Hilo downtown, where we found great restaurants and markets. The house is just like the descriptions and has everything you need. It make us feel like home immediately.

This place was totally awesome! It was so beautiful and peaceful! We slept so well! The house was well stocked with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Denise and Brian are the best hosts, making sure we had everything we need. Itineraries were provided so we were never bored. We will definitely be back for a stay in the beautiful rainforest on the Big Island! 🏝️

We enjoyed our stay at Betty’s very much. It was very private and spacious. Also appreciated all the supplies in the kitchen - we were able to make some pancakes in the kitchen and had them for breakfast with local fruits. Bedroom was cozy - we also got extra blankets for chilly nights.

We had a wonderful time at Mana House. Theresa goes above and beyond with recommendations and making us feel comfortable. The grounds are gorgeous and we fell asleep to ocean sounds every night. It’s truly magical and we will definitely return, thank you!

Howard’s place was a great home base for our few days in Hilo. It was close to everything and Howard had many excellent recommendations for where to go. The unit was clean and spacious, and it was easy to park right in front the entire time we were there. We really enjoyed ourselves!

The apartment is just perfect for a couple. I was floored to see the interior decor and layout, and the balcony was a beautiful place to eat breakfast or just to drink coffee and read. Big screen TV and free streaming service, Roku, Netflix, Paramount, Apple TV, Disney+, to name a few, Wifi is excellent should you just want to stay indoors. The room has everything you need for a comfortable stay whether you wish to cook or just relax & chill. Parking area is not lit during the night so it's dark but you're safe, and the property has resident geese and chickens. The nightly rate is absolutely reasonable, about a $100 less than the two major hotels on Banyan Drive, plus you get so much more extra room amenities that hotels don't give yet charge you that extra $50 resort fee for things you should get by default. Complementary Keurig cups (coco and coffee) hands down this place is definitely value added. I will certainly look at staying at this place in Hilo town again, 5 ⭐

Awesome place and responsive host. Right on Carl Smith Beach Park, which is beautiful. Balcony is screened which cuts down on bugs, place and was super clean with thoughtful beach supplies that made our stay much more comfortable.

Super nice place to spend a couple nights while exploring Hilo/Waterfalls/Volcanoes! It’s a bit tough to find but Maggie’s instructions were proactive in letting you know how to get to the right parking lot (make sure to not rely on GPS alone). The public lagoon park is a short walk away and was absolutely gorgeous - some of the most impressive trees you’ll ever see, neat wavy footbridges, and some humbling memorials and statues. The unit itself was nice and comfortable, and overlooks an adorable small creek stocked with koi and a waterfall that lulls you to sleep each night. All different kinds of birds to observe out on the spacious lanai. The pool was large and the common areas were clean and landscaped, despite the buildings themselves being a bit aged. Bar across the parking lot is open late, but other nearby food options close early. Phenomenal location and unit overall for a cheap couple’s getaway on east side Big Island. Recommend!

I wish this spot was available for my whole stay bc it’s so well located, super comfortable and nice. No complaints.

This is a unique, older complex and the units are efficiencies that come with a nice size patio. We were there in February and enjoyed sleeping at night with the cool night air blowing through the screen patio door. Once you get used to the area noises, it makes for good sleeping. What is nice is that the place comes lightly stocked, or they leave the donated items from other guests for future guests. I would rate this a 2.5/3 star accommodation, but very clean. It does not have central air, but it does have an external source to cool the unit. The building’s small laundry room was convenient and clean. We did not use the pool as the water was in need of a good shocking. There is a golf course that borders the back of the complex with a walking trail to the ocean. The people we met in the complex were friendly and helpful. Downtown Hilo is just five minutes away. We enjoyed our stay here and would return again.

I have stayed in a lot of Airbnb accommodations. This condo is the best. It it's perfect for one or two people it they aren't sharing beds. I love sitting on the balcony and watching the waves. I have been here multiple times and I am very comfortable here. Restaurants, market, and beaches are close and easy to access. I love staying here. Thank you!
