A cozy cabin getaway in the heart of Volcano. My two kids, wife, and I absolutely loved this place and used it as a refuge from the crowds trying to see the eruption. It took us less than 10 minutes to drive to see the eruption when we spotted on the park's webcam that the volcano was fountaining. Cabin was clean, comfortable, and cute. The hot tub was fantastic and we enjoyed being surrounded by nature with all of the plants and sounds of birds. Host was proactive with clear communication. Would recommend for a couple or young, small family. We feel lucky we found it and are so thankful to the hosts for offering it for us to stay!

We had a lovely stay. Kenji was so warm and welcoming and made us feel like family. We so appreciated his attentiveness and flexibility and we look forward to returning the next time family comes to visit. Mahalo NUI and a hui hou❤️

Kaeo and Karl’s eco hale nestled in the Hawaiian rainforest was a magical place to stay. We were greeted by Kaeo when we arrived and she told us about Kīlauea’s recent eruptions and told us how to get there. She left us little treats to enjoy in the hale and I swear she and Karl thought of everything a guest might need. There was extra blankets, warm clothes, flashlights, information about local restaurants, history of the island and early Hawaiians, native plants and animals and living sustainably. Such an inspiration! My partner was so moved, he proposed to me on the lanai on our first morning in Hawaii. This place is just full of love and natural wonder. Highly recommend! Beautiful place! So close to volcano national park! I had written the address wrong in gps and had trouble finding the place (my fault), Jeff called me right away to help. Clean, well appointed kitchen. The only think I wish I would have thought of is that it there are not many food options near by, so bring some groceries (but keep in mind fridge is mini). Overall, great stay!

This property was heaven on earth, the grounds are more beautiful than most botanical gardens we’ve visited. We wished we had booked more nights, every person in our group loved the stay.

We had a fantastic stay at this Airbnb in the volcano area. The setting was incredibly lush—like being in the heart of a rainforest. The hot tub was a highlight, perfectly nestled in the greenery and so relaxing after a day of exploring. The space was very comfortable, spotlessly clean, and had plenty of room. Check-in was seamless, and the host was attentive and helpful. We also appreciated the thoughtful gift of chocolates waiting for us when we arrived. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful, nature-filled retreat!

We booked Danielle's place for our quick visit to Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island of Hawaii. Having stayed in the same neighborhood on a trip before, we were familiar with the area, and Danielle's place did not disappoint. The large, three bedroom, easily sleeps six. clean and welcoming. Danielle is a friendly host who communicates very well. It is a great space for a family trip. A great value.

Jim und Ted’s Unterkunft war einer der schönsten auf unserer bisherigen 8 monatigen Reise. Die Unterkunft ist super persönlich eingerichtet. Es wurde an so vielen Dingen gedacht, die oft in unpersönlichen Airbnb fehlen. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Die Kids durften täglich die Fische im Teich füttern und haben es geliebt. Jim und Ted haben uns auch für eine Nacht auf ihrer Farm eingeladen und ein Dinner und Frühstück gezaubert. Ich habe so eine Gastfreundschaft selten erlebt. Wir kommen definitiv wieder, wenn wir mal wieder auf Big Island sind!

Roby and his wife were wonderful, welcoming and friendly! Very lovely hosts. We loved their dog Ike as well. The place was cute, quiet, and clean, and the beds were incredibly comfortable! We also loved the natural “white noise” of frogs and birds.

Had a great time in this private and peaceful accommodation. Ashley was very friendly and responsive and provided us with privacy and easy communication. This place provides a unique and relaxing glamping style stay. It rained very hard the first night and sounded beautiful as it’s an open air room but still felt very secure and everything stayed dry. After the rain the coqui were plentiful so it may not be for everyone but I found it to be soothing and peaceful. My only recommendation is maybe to hang a mirror in the shower room or in the kitchen/bathroom area. Mahalo for a great stay!

We had an incredible month-long stay at Tamara’s place in Pahoa! Her home was spotless, well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Tamara was an excellent host, always quick to respond and resolve any requests. The location is truly magical—nestled in the heart of a lush rainforest with friendly neighbors, it’s a peaceful and unique setting. The proximity to Hilo and the Kalapana area was fantastic. We loved visiting the vibrant Uncle Awa’s night market on Wednesday evenings and the lively Sunday drum circle in Seaview Estates which is just a 15-minute drive away. Pahoa itself is a charming town with welcoming and helpful locals. It’s also a great base for exploring the island: Volcanoes National Park is only 40 minutes away, Mauna Kea about 45 minutes, and even Kona is in drivable distance. A delightful surprise was the two adorable stray cats that often visited—they added so much charm to our stay. Thanks Tamara for making our stay so memorable!

Great place to go off the grid. It had everything we needed. One of the staff members greeted us when we got there and showed us around. Very friendly and answered all our questions. A+. Beautiful place, would recommend. Just don't park under the coconut trees. :)

The view! What an amazing location. We saw whales in the bay right outside our lanai a few mornings. The space worked perfectly for our group of 7 girlfriends. Plenty of beds and bathroom space. The home is quite old, but we loved the character and evident history. Everything was very clean and tidy and well stocked. Really nice updated kitchen was wonderful. We were close to everything we wanted to do and enjoyed relaxing at the house in the mornings and evenings while enjoying the view. Though right across from a public beach, the house felt quiet and safe. Richard’s recommends ahead of time were spot on and helpful in making plans in advance. Thank you for a fabulous stay! We’d love to return someday!

This was one of many stays I have had with jade at the MLT. it’s a great place to unwind and recenter. Always such a great time over on kalapana side and the temple is a great place to enjoy that side of the island. My friend forgot her jacket with her credit card and ID in it and Jade was very helpful and responsive. Very easy to get the jacket back with everything still in it!

Awesome home tucked away from the road. Rooms were cozy, kitchen had supplies and the backyard was a great hangout spot for boardgames and swimming! Would definitely stay again!

Honestly Terrys place is such a piece of paradise. My family and I wanted to be off the beaten path, we felt secluded even with neighbors. There isn’t anywhere to enter the water but the views from the cliffs and porch were phenomenal! This side of the island is rainy and so very green! We drove all over the island going north and south! I would definitely come and stay again!! Felt like home!

We had a great time. The house was very clean and the location was secluded and private. We would positively recommend this home for a very relaxing Hawaiian vacation spot.

What a slice of paradise!! The most beautiful property and wonderful cottage. Surrounded by citrus, banana, orchids, ferns, palms and every tropical plant imaginable, the puna rainforest retreat was even more wonderful than we expected. The steam heated tub where the cherry on top. We will definitely be back!

This was the most incredible place we stayed in our whole vacation to the big island. The rainbow cottage was comfortable and equipped with everything that we needed. The walk on the trails behind the cabins was simply incredible. It was magical. Gorgeously maintained grounds, natural steam vents. Enticing tubs built around natural hot springs. I hope to come here again someday, it was one of the most memorable parts of our vacation.

We absolutely loved our stay! Our host was super responsive, so incredibly nice, checked in several times during the week, and had great recommendations for an off the beaten path waterfall to swim in, or a beach close by, when we asked for recommendations. The property is STUNNING and the house had every amenity we could have needed. When we had questions or issues she responded to messages within minutes and was onsite within the hour to show us how to do the things she recommended. Would love to come stay again!
