A thoroughly enjoyable stay. Wonderful location, the kids loved having a pool and playground (or 2 if you count the pub playground) at their doorstep. The views were lovely too. Also a testament to the layout was how easily pur kids ended up making friends with other kids there over such a short period. The only 2 things I would change - beds were too hard for me (but that is personal preference) and the showers weren't the best - though showers in the pool area were perfect. Clearly not something that would change my 5 star rating. A couple of other points - being so close to Carsington Water (1 minute drive) was superb. Ashbourne and Matlock also close and lovely locations - very much enjoyed our little excursions there and to The Heights of Abraham. Thanks, a lovely stay.

Our stay had everything and felt as if we’d struck gold with the location and amenities. The house itself is picturesque and stunning but the hot tub, games room, lawn area and sun loungers were all just added bonuses that made a family stay for all ages just perfect. We were very lucky with the weather but even in the rain we would have had just as good a stay. Thank you Nicola. What a find and what a weekend!

We had a great stay - the house is peaceful, quiet, clean, and especially cosy with the woodburner on! Richard and Jo were excellent hosts, very friendly and accommodating, and offered great advice on places to visit nearby with our two small children. We all slept amazingly well (very unusual with a 1 and 3 year old); the beds were comfy and it was so quiet. The house is well set up for visiting with toddlers - there are toys, books, stair gates etc. and the large garden is great to let them run around in. We would absolutely return, especially in the summer to really make use of the beautiful garden.

We had a wonderful stay at Knockerdown cottages. It was everything we hoped for and more. The children enjoyed the facilities (swimming pool and field for playing games) and we had some lovely walks in the surrounding area. Thank you very much! We look forward to revisiting soon!

great cottage in a fantastic location with Carsington Water in walking distance and a lovely country pub too! Cottage had everything we could have asked for and our host was really helpful when we needed them. Highly recommend :)

I stayed with my family at the cottages on a trip to Alton Towers. I would recommend it to anyone very spacious, clean and great communication with the staff. Lots on site to keep the kids entertained. Would definitely stay again

Stayed here for a long weekend with the in-laws. Loved our stay here, clean, comfortable, well equipped and instantly felt at home. The team were friendly. The swimming pool was a bonus, spotless shower and changing areas. Lovely children’s play area and games room. The Knockerdown pub across the road serves really good food and staff are welcoming and attentive. Great location, visited Crich tram museum, national trust houses, Matlock Bath and Heights of Abraham. We would go back again, highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay at The Round House with 2 adults and 2 young children. The location was very convenient and the surroundings were beautiful. We did have an issue with the WiFi when we arrived but there was good communication from the hosts and this was resolved by the second day of our trip. The children particularly enjoyed using the pool. We didn't realise there were pool toys available to use in the store cupboard until the last day which was a lovely addition and we wish we'd have known about that earlier. We hope to come back for another stay here in the future.

Great little place in a quiet area. Spotlessly clean and tidy with all listed amenities that were new and usable. Communication with the hosts was quick, easy and they were accommodating of our needs. Parking is on-street only, but there was always a spot available close by so this wasn’t an issue. Would be more than happy to stay here again as price is very reasonable and location is perfect for our needs. Thanks!

We had a fantastic stay! The host was really helpful, gave us some recommendations of local places to eat. The house had all the amenities you could need to make your stay a real home away from home. It was spotlessly clean and spacious. Would highly recommend!

We booked the house for a family weekend visiting in Derby. Great central location. Fantastic house with high ceilings and original period architecture, tastefully decorated. Loads of space to relax in and was a perfect stay. Highly recommended.

We used this lovely home while waiting for the purchase of our new home to complete, we wanted somewhere in Chesterfield that was going to feel like a home and be comfortable while I’m undergoing chemo, Winston’s home ticked every box and our 2 dogs and 2 house cats definitely approved, the garden is secure and safe, parking outside was perfect, we couldn’t have picked a better property, even suppling a Christmas tree and decorations made it that much more special, thank you 🙏

We had a wonderful weekend at Penny’s comfortable home. It was perfect for an inter-generational family group of seven adults with plenty of space to relax. The garden is beautiful and close to lovely walks. Penny’s recommendations were helpful and her welcome genuine.

What a gorgeous spacious cottage with a beautiful garden. Comfy beds, good showers and well equipped kitchen which is tastefully designed. Plenty of wood available for the wood burner making it extra cosy in the lounge area. Would definitely stay again. Thank you.

Had a great time, Tai and Amy are great hosts and respond quickly with any queries I had. They had set the house nicely for our arrival with complimentary drinks and set the kids an easter egg hunt which was a nice touch. All in all a nice relaxing trip away.

We had a great stay at Benjamin’s house. Comfortably accommodated 7 adults and 4 children. Benjamin’s communication was excellent throughout. The house is lovely and the photos don’t do justice to the amount of space. Very well equipped. Bakewell town centre is under 5 minutes walk away. Playground and pub also very close. Located on a quiet cul de sac with enough space on the drive for three cars. Would highly recommend.

A lovely home that was stylishly furnished. Good location in a quiet residential cul-de-sac. The hot tub was great with nice views across the stream and open countryside. Katie was a great host and was easy to contact & answered all our questions promptly.

Honestly have had the most gorgeous, restful weekend here. Stunningly beautiful house with views, so clean, a very short drive from restaurants. We had a lovely relaxing evening in front of the fire. Bed super comfy, WiFi great, loads of space in the two fridge freezers. We’d love love love to come back.

Comfy, silent, convenient traffic to City Center, walking distance to a big supermarket! Sufficient facilities for long family staying, car park just outside the door, the house owner is a kind and very helpful gentleman! He himself deserved 5 stars!

The place was ideal for a family Christmas. We were able to spend time all together. Spacious house. Everyone had their own bathroom and bedroom. Great open space. Ideal location in the village. Lee was always responsive . Will recommend the place . Thank you
