Gavin’s place is quite a treat, beautifully restored and decorated to suit its history and style. The Abbey is central to everything Franklin has to offer and we enjoyed the beautiful garden and peaceful surroundings. Gavin provided many little extras such as bread, fruit etc which were greatly appreciated. He was a great host and we found it a wonderful place to stay.

Phil and Mary were very welcoming. Phil gave our grandchildren the farm experience of working a backhoe, riding a quad bike and a tour through the forest. It is a magical place, so peaceful yet only 5 minutes drive from Cygnet, which was where we needed to be on 3 of the days of our stay.

Stayed her with our 10 month old for a relaxing get away. Loved the fully enclosed yard for the dogs. The location was great for exploring the area Bruce was very helpful with ideas for if we needed anything at the house

Rebecca is a wonderful host who responds promptly. The place is beautifully decorated with a warm ambiance and surrounded by nature; you might even see wallabies hopping in the courtyard! It's extremely suitable for families with children, as there are plenty of toys and activities. The kitchen is well-equipped. Thank you, Rebecca, for the eggs, croissants, and jam you provided.

Gorgeous place up on the hills. Really good location to go to Bruny island. The breakfast supplied was great and it was so nice to arrive and smell the freshly baked bread left for us (which was 10/10). Really peaceful, the balcony had a great view of the water and hills. Would absolutely recommend for a quiet getaway!

A stay at The Bowmont has been on our bucket list for some time and it did not disappoint. Arriving in the late afternoon we drifted up the staircase and instantly felt at home in the beautiful apartment. The attention to detail is exceptional and each room is beautifully layered to tell its own story. Michelle & Leo are wonderful & thoughtful hosts. From the delicious breakfast supplies to the clipboard with detailed information on Franklin and the surrounding area, so much thought has been put into providing an exceptional stay. We especially loved the homemade jam! Thank-you for having us, we can’t wait to visit again. Sarah & Peter

Ok here’s what you need to know… The host Ben… super helpful and responsive. The location… breathtaking views. The house….extremely roomy and comfortable. Stop looking, just book it because you just found what you are looking for!

Paul’s place was delightful - a perfectly appointed self contained set of room with a beautiful sitting room and balcony view over the river valley. The thing that really made this stay special was the attention to detail and the little extras at no cost - homemade jam and marmalade, fresh milk and breakfast materials. And in the evening the wallabies come down from the forest and nibble at the lawn at the back of the house. A great get away. Many thanks - Simon

This place is amazing!! So beautifuly decorated with many personal touches and delicious home-made treats. Everything about it is spot on and in a beautiful, tranquil, country setting. Hosts are super friendly - we enjoyed our chats & walks through the gardens. Can highly recommend it... we hope to be back!

Gary is a wonderful host of a beautiful bed and breakfast. He came out to great us and was informative about anything we could need, and provided a lovely breakfast the following morning. He also had lots of interesting stories and facts which was an added bonus. The property itself is very nice and so was the accommodation. I would recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone passing through because it is very lovely just like Gary.

Such a splendid little sanctuary! Close enough to Hobart and the Huon Valley & Channel regions, it made a great base to explore the areas from. The place itself is extremely comfortable. Meticulously clean and well appointed. Very comfortable bed, and being surrounded by greenery is calming. An absolute delight of a place. Barbara and Peter are a lovely, warm couple who made me feel right at home. I got all the peace and privacy I needed before setting off to my next destination. Thank you both again!

Bee’s guest suite is a real delight - comfortable and cosy with so many thoughtful touches and delicious cake on arrival. Situated right on a beautiful piece of the coast, there are lovely walks and spectacular beaches within a short drive and it’s only an hour from Hobart - what could be better?

This is a very special type of BnB, Breakfast and Bed as they say. Thana is an interior designer and very hospitable host. Check in before 16.30 to have complementary afternoon "tea" (snack and drink of choice, ours Saki) and view Platypus. In the evening (must book 1 day advance so Chef can have fresh ingredients picked that day) Chef Kazumasa-san will give you a dining experience that would be difficult to find anywhere in the world (and I have travelled a lot inc Japan) and defiantly unique to Australia I would think. Wild Platypus in the stream through the garden makes it unique. Japanese Omakase style with slight French twist using fresh Tasmanian ingredients. Max 6 PAX but Chef prefers less. The atmosphere is very calming and relaxing due to the styling of the rooms. Then there is breakfast, that is another dining experience to itself where again Thana and Chef Kazumasa will spoil you. Staying at Cambridge House is an experience, not a stay, foodies delight.

Gary is a wonderful host and it is a pleasure to be a guest at his home. The breakfast is filling and tasty. Gary makes great jams and sauces that he serves with breakfast. The room was spotless and very comfortable. We stayed in the room with the king bed and it is one of the more comfortable that we have experienced. Sitting by the outdoor fire was a great way to spend the evening. There are limited dining options in Dover. The first night was at the RSL which was noisy but the food was ok. The second night we ate from the pizza restaurant which was open for takeaway only. The pizza was good. There is not much else in Dover for dining.

We had such a nice stay here. Gary was a fabulous host with a wealth of information. A very interesting fellow. My son loves recreational fishing and the local jetty was the best fishing of his life!
