A very peaceful and quiet retreat in a lovely part of the North East. It was so quiet and relaxing spending time in the hot tub and inside the cottage. Although this is no fault of Rachael's and/or the cottage please be wary that if you're over 6 foot you will be ducking a lot! I banged my head twice coming out of the bathroom when going during the night and still half asleep (again, this is nothing against the host or the location - just a pre-warning!)

The family and I thoroughly enjoyed Rambling Cottage. Beautiful cottage in a great location and very accessible. It was a great space for us to base ourselves for a long weekend exploring what the North York Moors had to offer. Highly recommend. Michael, Laura, Elsa and Eddie

Lovely place to stay for a relaxing get away. Hosts met us when we arrived, introduced themselves and were very friendly and welcoming. They decorated the place for my birthday going above and beyond to make our stay special. Would highly recommend.

Jane met us on arrival, explained everything, then left us to chill out. The welcome pack and fresh flowers were a lovely gesture and were much appreciated. The cottage was spotless and felt extremely homely. We very much enjoyed the games room and enclosed hot tub. The garden areas were vast with lots of outdoor furniture. We enjoyed a lovely ice cream at Archers ice cream parlour (10 min walk) and experienced both pubs in nearby Heighington, very friendly, great food and service in the George & Dragon. Another recommendation is the nearby Raby castle, definitely a worthwhile visit. We definitely recommend staying at Ivy cottage and look forward to returning there again. Thank you Jane.

We had such a lovely stay at The Nest - the place is super cosy and perfect for a relaxing get away. Everything was super easy, from communication to check in/out and finding the place. Great location and beautiful setting. Hot tub was fab! We had dinner at The Wellington Heifer one night which is a 10 minute walk away and would recommend.

Me and my husband visited as a family with our 8 year old daughter and two tiny chihuahuas. Our dogs can be a bit happy which was absolutely my motivation for picking this location, secluded quiet and most importantly the courtyard area with the hot tub was entirely secure. Meaning we could relax in the hot tub without worrying about any unexpected puppy escapes. The place itself was beautiful inside , the only bathroom is in the main bedroom but in a family setting this is absolutely no issue. It was the perfect setting for cooking, playing board games and watching movies. We were able to walk the dogs, spend time as a family and all had a comfortable uninterrupted nights sleep. I can see us returning for sure!

What can we say apart from we were gutted to leave David was very responsive and the property was beautiful , well equipped and with panoramic beauty The pool and hot tub were fabulous and both parts of the accommodation wonderful . We came as a family holiday with our lovely dog Beautiful scenery , stunning walks straight from the farm to the surrounding villages including the pub the Queens arms for Sunday lunch which had food to die for especially the pies ! Before our stay David was responsive and also gave us helpful info and fabulous instructions to the property . We used the BBQ as blessed with wonderful weather this weekend . David’s neighbours were also lovely and welcoming . It was the most wonderful of stays in the most beautiful part of the Dales . As others have said you literally do not want to leave the property as it’s fabulous , homely , well equipped and well thought out .The walk behind the cottage to the top of the hills gave beautiful panoramic views.

We stayed in Groom’s cottage for the weekend and couldn’t fault it. The cottage was immaculate and Elley and her family were lovely hosts. She greeted us on arrival and explained everything to us. We had everything we needed and the welcome hamper was such a lovely touch. Elley even went the extra mile for us and provided baby items that made our stay so much easier. We would highly recommend this beautiful cottage to anyone. Perfect place to explore the local village and felt so homely. We took our fox red Labrador with us who loved the garden area to play in and the surrounding circular walks. We can’t wait to go back! X

Absolutely perfect little get away in a lovely area. My girlfriend really liked it and wants to go again. Very cosy and private place with a little garden for the dogs. Beautiful surroundings will 100% be booking again. Very responsive host even though we got there late. Thanks again

We had a great stay - the cottage itself was well kept and cosy. Close to Moors walking spots like Rievaulx Abbey and the coast which we visited. A few nice features make this one standout: appreciated the fireplace setup and ready for us to use at nighttime; made use of the tumble dry and line as we were half way through a long holiday; the parking is private and covered; Kay’s place is just next door if I had any questions; the town itself not as well known as nearby Whitby or York but really welcoming and stocked with indie cafes/bakeries.

A gorgeous little place. It’s called The Nest & I can see why. Small but perfectly formed with everything you need. Annette has lavished love on this little gem. Amazing power shower, super comfy bed and peaceful surroundings. There is a Co-op a few paces away and a pub across the road. There was no noise over the weekend either! The Downe Arms & the Eskdale Inn pubs are both worth a visit with typical pub grub in one & a bistro feel in the other. Only half an hour away from Whitby. There is a train station in the village with trains to Whitby & Middlesbrough. Lots of walks on your doorstep with only a mile to the moors. A delightful comfortable space. Would recommend.

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. ☺️ The cottage is decorated really tastefully, beautifully clean and it’s not often we find somewhere that allows children and dogs that’s so well equipped! Also a lovely little basket of goodies was there to welcome us 🫶🏻 We had everything we needed & with typical English weather of freezing cold one day we enjoyed using the log burner to keep warm & cozy while watching a movie with the kids on our Netflix account then the next day in lovely sunshine we enjoyed eating outside listening to the stream trickling and the birds singing and reading a book. 📖 A great place to stay in all weather with children, dogs and any ages. Communication before & after booking was fantastic. Would highly recommend! 🌟

It was a lovely,well situated cottage. Extremely easy to get to the surrounding north York moors and the dales. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming and had helpful information on the surrounding area. The cottage was very clean and homely. Pub within walking distance just across the bridge in the village. Would recommend walk from the beautiful Sutton bank national park which was only 10 minutes drive from the cottage followed by a lovely drink at the pub in hamby. Would definitely go back and stay there again.

What can I say... Absolutely fantastic place. You couldn't ask for anything more. Really peaceful location with fantastic views of the hills etc. We had a strange issue but this was sorted out very swiftly by Malcolm 👍 We will definitely be looking to book again and have another peaceful time just watching the world go by. We had a lovely stay at this very cute, quirky cottage in a good location, with all the supplies you’d need. There were lots of things to do nearby. Helen was incredibly attentive and always happy to help and nothing was too much trouble. We were even able to purchase some of her amazing artwork. 🤩 Would definitely recommend to others.

Abbey Hill Cottages to high above W. Hartlepool. They are well equipped.Beds are comfortable and so is sitting room furniture. Plenty of hot water. Good shower.Lots of space. I would stay again.

Homely place with nice touches including a fire waiting for us and home made bread. Ideal location to Yorkshire Dales and good value for what we paid. Host took their time to introduce us and show us around.

Really nice break, cottage in driving distance to lots of places. Walking guides in property too for ideas. Clean, tidy accommodation with everything you'd need for a break away. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

We had a wonderful weekend at Emma’s place. The location is very picturesque. We loved walking along the stream & river. The location was peaceful with a secluded & secure garden. The house was spotless and spacious - perfect for our family of 5. We all slept very well in the comfy beds and the house had everything we needed when travelling with young children - from plates, cups, bath toys, books, stair gate and cot. 2 nights wasn’t long enough so I hope we’ll be back.

What a find! Amazing place to stay. Not only is it a 5 star accommodation, it's a perfect place to explore the local area and has the best back garden I've ever experienced i.e. "The Himalayan Gardens & Sculptures". The accommodation itself was warm, cosy and spotlessly clean, plenty of space for two adults and two springer spaniels. We valued the entrance with it's stone floor to rub down our wet pups when arriving back after our adventures. With plenty of logs for the burner it added to the feeling of home from home. Everything supplied in the cottage is top class quality. The outside area included an enclosed patio which many need if they have dogs with them. We were there when the gardens were closed so it was quiet and such a treat to be able to walk around not sharing it with anyone else. We will be back and have already recommended the cottage to our friends and family. Thank you Will and Sophie

Thank you once again for a lovely stayand your friendly manner. The location is fantastic for the dales and the local pub is 3 mins away and serves lovely food. The cottage is really cosy and we will definitely be back again.

Anna was extremely helpful, accommodating and provided plenty recommendations of the surrounding area We felt right at home with our Dog and would definitely recommend the cottage if you are looking for a peaceful break with beautiful scenery. The cottage had all we needed and we will definitely return.

We had the most wonderful stay at Fairfax Cottage. The cottage itself is beautifully appointed, cozy, immaculately clean, and full of charm. Every little detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the well-equipped kitchen to the luxurious bedding. Waking up to birdsong and rolling green hills was pure magic. But what truly made our stay exceptional was David, the host. From the moment we booked, his communication was warm, prompt, and incredibly helpful. He offered fantastic local recommendations and even left us a thoughtful welcome pack that made us feel right at home. It’s rare to find a host so genuinely kind and attentive -David went above and beyond in every way. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat in the Yorkshire countryside with a five-star experience, this is the place. We’ll definitely be coming back!
