The Retreat on Lather

My wife & I recently spent 6 nights in this glorious retreat whilst visiting relatives nearby. Fiona’s place is literally a home away from home, and has everything you will ever need for a comfortable stay. A small but well equipped kitchen, a good sized lounge & workplace, a bright and spacious bedroom with comfortable beds, a great bathroom/shower and a lovely tranquil outdoor space with fantastic views over the valley. Plus a gorgeous, but slightly apprehensive dog that often greeted us in the mornings. But what we loved most about the retreat was the attention to detail and all the thoughtful little extras such as the huge bowl of fresh fruit and mixed nuts that greeted us on our arrival, and all the basic amenities we would need for a comfortable night without having to go near a shop - bread, milk, butter, tea, coffee , frozen food, not to mention all of the bathroom products, gels, lotions, hand creams etc. Fiona is also an awesome individual. We will be back one day for sure!

Annette is a great host. Super helpful from the moment we arrived. The place was perfect, spotless and provided everything we could ever need down to the finer details of chocolates on everyone’s bed and hand written welcome note.

I was taken aback by the beauty of the house inside and out...!!! Our host was attentive and made sure everything was in order for our arrival. Loved the vintage charm of this place! The host has done an incredible job preserving its character while offering modern conveniences. This loft is a designer's dream. Every corner had aesthetic appeal. The garden is a serene oasis, perfect for morning coffee. Kudos to our host for maintaining it so beautifully. Very Impressed by the attention to detail! The host stocked the kitchen with essentials, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The private entrance was a plus, allowing us to come and go as we pleased. Our host was respectful of our privacy but always available when needed. This is also the perfect family-friendly spot. The host thoughtfully provided toys and books for little ones!! In summary, the BEST Airbnb experience ever!!! 👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful house! The place was exactly as described - spacious, clean, and perfectly equipped for our family's needs. But what truly made our stay exceptional was our host's outstanding hospitality and support. Unfortunately, we had a bit of an incident during our stay involving one of our kids, and our host was incredibly responsive, helpful, and caring. Lara went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and that the rest of our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. We're so grateful for her kindness and flexibility. We would highly recommend this house and host to anyone looking for a wonderful and stress-free stay. Thank you again for everything!

This place was incredible! Mark and Nicola have created something truly special... The Haven Retreat blew us away in every possible way. The photos simply do not do this little getaway home justice. Couldn't recommend this place enough. Thank you for a weekend away to remember!

I wish all hosts were as amazing as Michelle, nothing is too much trouble. Michelle goes above and beyond prior to arrival and during your stay. We were attending CMC Rocks for our second year staying at Michelle's house and she made sure we had umbrellas available as well as an esky on our request. The fridge and pantry were well stocked with necessities which was so thoughtful and appreciated. The kitchen is just like being at home so you can cook what you need, honestly unbelievable. We have stayed in many AirBnB's all over the world and we have had nothing like what Michelle offers her guests. The house is close to the train track which I was concerned about but you don't really notice that at all. 110% can recommend Michelle's place to anyone who loves the finer details. We will be back again :)

I chose this place due to a previous stay with the host, Andy and knew that the accommodation would be the same high standard along with impeccable communication and responsiveness from Andy. I was delighted once again to find a beautiful serene home in a lovely neighbourhood along with a great experience liaising with Andy.

Mark & Carissa’s place is absolutely beautiful. Everything was immaculate in such a beautiful, peaceful setting. Our only problem was that we had a late arrival and an early departure and didn’t have time to enjoy it properly. The complimentary items made our stay so much more relaxing. It meant we didn’t have to get anything to make breakfast before our early start, it was all there. The bottle of wine topped everything off, we weren’t expecting it but it gave our stay the finishing touch.
