Ísafjörður : locations de vacances avec terrasse

Cosy, neat, beautifully scenic and quiet cabin in the woods. By far the most comfortable and high quality bed and linen that we had on our 2 week stay in Iceland. Towels were also nice and big (2 sets provided). Well thought out. The only thing missing which was not clear on the listing is NO oven, and with a very small selection of groceries in the local shop that are BBQ friendly, you have to be organised and do your shopping at a larger town (eg Isafjordur/Borganes). In saying that, there is a pub in town serving yummy pizza and burgers so if all else fails you can go there - they have soccer on the big screen too.

Wir sind sehr begeistert. Eine so wunderschöne Unterkunft mit einer grandiosen Aussicht. Wir haben sehr ruhig und gut geschlafen. Hatten direkt heißes Wasser und immer warm. Wir konnten in beiden Nächten Polarlichter genießen. Ein guter Ort um die Umgebung zu erkunden.

Great place! Had all the necessities for cooking dinner and a comfortable night sleep. The wifi wasn’t the strongest, but that wasn’t important to us as we used our rented portable wifi. I would recommend this to anyone visiting.

Margret’s house is so wonderfull! Everything was perfect for our two families (4 adultes and 1 child). The house and the view are amazing and everything is perfect here: everything is clean, the kitchen is very practical, the decoration is beautifull… and the jacuzzi!!!! we could not expect something better. Thanks to Margret who has been really responsive and who help us every time we asked her something or needed an advice. I can only suggest you to stay in this house, it was the most beautifull place I have been through airbnb.

This place had a beautiful view from the kitchen/living room windows. The hot tub was great and spacious for four people. We enjoyed our stay here!

This was our second time staying here - out of more than 60 places we have stayed in Iceland this is the only one we have returned to, it is so special. The weather for our 2 night stay was not going to be good so Guðrún very generously offered us another property with more amenities but we decided to stay at Brekka. Even during the wind & rain the place was still warm thanks to the wood burner and we cooked a full meal on the stove and enjoyed relaxing completely by candlelight. We made one journey out to the local pool (also recommended, everyone is very welcoming and chatty, even by Icelandic hot tub standards!) but otherwise enjoyed a chance to de-stress and have a break from our road trip. Already looking forward to another stay in 2 years - roll on 2026!

This is our second time in this cabin. It’s a beautiful rather simple place, very close to Ísafjörður but secluded, in nature. You are surrounded by a forest, with a constant sound of the waterfall and a beautiful view towards the fjord. There are nice big windows, everything you need to cook, and a feeling of home, with all the ornaments. The bed and shower are a bit small, but you can manage. Johann is extremely hospitable and let us stay a few extra hours the day after our big Horsnstrandir hike to do our laundry in the nearby campground. Thank you, Jói!

We felt like we walked into a clean and lovely home. Very well stocked and beautifully located with the view of a glacier from the sunroom! We saw the aurora borealis right off the back step, and enjoyed our stay. Lots of room in the house but (we didn’t know ahead of time) the bathroom is on the main floor with the 1st floor bedroom. Bedrooms upstairs (set up for an adult room and kids room with 3 beds) is up a very steep staircase. This didn’t bother us, but our adult son, who stayed upstairs, mentioned it would be difficult taking kids to the bathroom during the night. Just a little something to add to the listing. Kind and communicative host, and we would definitely recommend it!
