The apartment was well-appointed with every amenity needed for a pleasant stay. Very clean and comfortable. Quiet and secluded yet walking distance to two beautiful beaches and close to nice restaurants. Liz was very quick to respond to questions and very helpful.

Beautiful backyard that totally made up for the smaller room. Was quiet and enjoyed our brief stay.

What a wonderful place to stay and really thoughtful, communicative hosts! Jeff and Sheri have thought of everything and Jeff was full of helpful suggestions for things to do and see around Kona. The house was extremely clean and well-appointed. The neighborhood was quiet and close to everything. Loved staying here!

Linda welcomed us and showed us her garden, explaining about the local plants, was thoughtful with the kids — and of course we love the gentle, friendly dogs. The place was as described, and a great location for visiting green sand beach, volcanes national park and black sand beach. Very clean and homey. Thank you!

The place was serene and peaceful. It was far enough from the town proper where you can relax and enjoy nature, yet close enough if you wanted to do stuff in town. The weather was a little bit cooler up there than being along the coast. The place was cozy and we ate most of our meals on the patio. We definitely enjoyed our stay.

We had a great stay at Lorelle Petite Retreat apartment. We loved the location being on the hill; it was nice, cool and tranquil. The space was clean and well shocked. Lorelle is a very generous, friendly person.We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation.

Dorothy and Alii's place was great. Convenient location close to a lot of food. It was nice that they had a washer and dryer for guests to use. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. My only note is that the walls are paper thin so if you are sensitive to noise, this is not the place to be. I was able to hear dogs barking all night and any noise coming from the folks who live upstairs.

Beautiful place very close to volcanoes national park! Good restaurants nearby and the host was amazing! Would recommend and will definitely stay here again!!

It was such a nice place to crash before going to watch sunrise at the cliffs.

We had a lovely one night stay in this property, it was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Very easy to find and the check in instructions were clear. Thoughtful additional touches. Would recommend.

We truly enjoyed our stay in the apartment. Very comfortable, clean and spacious and the hosts very helpful and responsive. The two balconies with an ocean view (and the amazing sound of the ocean at night), the swimming pool and hot tub were particular highlights. We also appreciated the tips on where to go and the excellent local guide to the big island - much better than our own guides! It was the perfect set up for our family of four with two teenagers. If we are ever fortunate enough to come back to Hawaii, we will book again here!

We had a lovely stay. Just one night but it was quiet, peaceful and felt very safe. The hot tub was a fantastic bonus! Great stop over when traveling around south point on Big Island.

Mary was an amazing host. Her property was immaculate and much larger than I anticipated. We had plenty of room for my family and felt very comfortable. The neighborhood is safe and we were able to sleep with the windows and sliding door open for the fresh cool air. Having two bathrooms was a huge plus and there was a washer and dryer as well. Top notch service from our host who went above and beyond for us. I loved all the attention to detail. There were nice ceiling fans in each room. Plenty of towels and wash rags. One of the most thought out rentals I have stayed in. I would highly recommend Mary’s place to stay if you’re on the Big Island. Mahalo Mary, for your hospitality!

A wonderful, cozy home-away-from-home. Beautifully decorated and well stocked with everything we needed (including beach chairs, umbrella and cooler). The bed was very comfy too. Quiet, peaceful - a wee bit of paradise. Watching the sunsets over the ocean from the gazebo was an awesome daily event too. Mahalo, Donna and Robbie, for sharing your lovely home with us. 🌺

We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay! The place was clean, spacious, and in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood just steps away from the ocean. Wendy was an exceptionally great host, offering to let us check in super early, welcoming us with fresh papayas and limes, being very responsive, and letting us use her beach chairs, coolers, and pool noodles for our visits to the beach. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks for having us!

My husband and I stayed here for just under a week for our 3rd wedding anniversary/babymoon. We absolutely loved the view and woke up every morning to a gorgeous sunrise! It was a great location for us, as we did lots of driving to see as much of island as we could in the short time we were there. Erika and Andrew’s place is very welcoming, clean, and exactly as described! They also thought of everything extra you could need, as far as beach essentials and more. We appreciated being able to have beach chairs and a cooler for our day’s travels. I would highly recommend!

The Laughing Gecko is exactly as advertised... a peaceful retreat in beautiful surroundings. Great hiking is nearby leading to breathtaking seascapes. Hilo is only a 30 minute drive, Kilauea is about an hour away by car, and the quaint towns of Keaau and Pahoa are both just a short drive away. The roosters may crow early in the morning but hey, this IS Hawaii, so we expected as much. The coqui frogs provided "the music of the night" which we found relaxing, but you may want to pack some earplugs if the sounds of mother nature bother you.

This is a thoughtfully planned place. Everything we needed was anticipated. We never spoke with our host but didn't need to. Our stay was very pleasant, the area was quiet. The unit had lots of amenities as represented. Parking place worked well. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen was functional. Magic Sands Beach is treacherous with rocks, waves, on reviews for the beach people say it is known by the local E.R. for injuries. There are better beaches you can drive to though. Kahala'u is near, had very helpful staff/lifeguards pay to park but the funds are well used. It was difficult for beginners to get into but doable. All in all a very nice place. We are greatful for our stay. Mahalo

Sheena’s studio is awesome, very spacious for 2 people and away from all the busyness. Everything was super comfortable, especially the bed, and best of all this place has all the small essentials you need for a great stay like laundry detergent, beach gear, and shower stuff. The kitchen was also super helpful as we were able to cook our meals and we had everything we needed there. Being higher up the place never got too hot and we slept very comfortably at night with the fans. Sheena was an amazing host, accommodating and friendly! Highly recommend this place for your trip to the big island.

This was the perfect place for me on my quick trip to Hilo. It was a quick drive to downtown and I was able to Uber at night so I could enjoy some adult beverages. Jane made some great recommendations for things to do in the area and was very friendly. The room had everything I needed. Bed was really comfortable. I was concerned about being hot at night with no AC but the windows open and fan going were perfect. The kitchenette has quite a few appliances and items for light or simple cooking. I didn’t use it as I didn’t have much time in Hilo. Jane has a beautiful property and it felt so cozy. Truly a lovely time. Would return.

Kimberly and Peter’s place was just as described in the listing. Kimberly was very friendly and helpful with our requests. Very comfortable stay; we enjoyed the tropical oasis a lot. The place was clean and it is very spacious!!
