We stayed at Jun's beach house last year and loved our time here so much, so we came back again this year. This time, we went exploring Shimoda a little bit more around Cape Tsumekizaki. There is an easy mountain path to the cape from Jun's house. The trail head is to the right-hand side of the parking lot entrance. You can see it on google map. The short trail to Cape Tsumekizaki lighthouse is gorgeous. There is another longer trail to a Unesco designated area along the coast. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time for it. Hopefully we will get to make our 3rd trip here someday! We also loved our movie time on the big projector screen. And loved the local restaurants that Jun recommened. What a wondeful stay! Wow Billy’s place made us envious and think of lottery wins :-) it is the beach house of our dreams. Stunning! We loved it. If you have the chance don’t miss out on visiting it. The area was wonderful too. The Hana steak restaurant was expensive but AMAZING! Billy gave us tons of help with recommendations and went above and beyond! Perfect place to spend my birthday! Thank you Billy!

Spend a couple days exploring The Izu Peninsula in late March/early April & decided to spend a night in Shimoda. Naomi’s was the perfect fit. Easy to find, more than enough space to sleep our party of four & a responsive host. Because we only spent the night we weren’t able to make use of all the amenities the property had to offer, but from what we could see, it was steps away from the beach with places to eat nearby & some nice outdoor amenities perfect for the warmer months. House was immaculate with some minor issues (fridge & tv) but the positives far outweighed them, especially since we were only looking for a place to warm up and rest. Naomi’s place totally fit the bill. We would definitely come back if we’re back in the area.

Loved our quick stay here. House is clean & spotless while having all the things we needed to feel right at home. The place has character and is decorated well, doesn't feel like some heartless airbnb unit, feels like a home. Very much appreciated that!
