The house and town were amazing! It was one of the most peaceful places I’ve ever stayed. We spent a lot of our time outside in the fenced in side yard looking at the beautiful views of the river. Sabula was a quiet small town with limited restaurants and bars but Savanna, IL was a quick and scenic 10min drive. We were completely content driving for a meal and staying in the small quiet town. We even had a pizza and tacos delivered from Savanna one of the nights. Right across the street we had access to an open grassy area with seats and a picnic table right by the river which was perfect for stargazing each night. If you’re looking for a peaceful, beautiful place to stay for a few days, this is the spot! Thanks so much for sharing your home with us Peggy!

I had a wonderful stay at the Tin Roof Cottage! The fit and finish of the place was impressive—everything felt polished and well thought out. Check-in was a breeze, which made settling in so easy. The amenities were top-notch, adding a lot of comfort to the experience. The location was peaceful and quiet. The cozy vibe made it perfect for unwinding. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!

Great location! The porch was where we spend most of our time at the house. The inside was clean and well decorated and furniture was very comfortable. Everything that we needed for our get away to Maquoketa Caves. Definitely worth the trip! Watching the Mississippi River was great. Awesome place to stay! Thank you!

Peggy was an amazing host. We stayed in the lower level of her guest house which provided great privacy and short walks to a few restaurants and bars. Very nice view of the river just outside the front door!

Rosebuds have a beautiful home with a gorgeous view. It was the perfect spot. We felt at home with all the amenities of home. We definitely see us renting this again in the future 😃

My husband and I with our 4 kids and 2 inlaws had plenty of space to move around and still have private sleeping quarters. we would recommend this home to anyone wanting to visit this area. Also had easy and great communication with host. wendi

From the moment we walked in, we immediately knew the place was perfect. We had a larger group- 5 couples, so the fact that we all had our own bathroom was huge! Lia is the perfect hostess and addressed any questions we had right away. Even going as far as offering to have a microwave delivered next day when the one in the house wasn't working properly. We will absolutely be booking again with Lia on our next trip to Galena!! Thank you for all you do and going above and beyond our expectations!!

Our second time at this property. Love that each bedroom has a bathroom. Very comfortable beds. Lots of towels in bathrooms. Very quiet at night. Nice you added a coffee bar and huge sectional in living room Highly recommend this property. House while spacious is also very comfortable.

I really appreciated how clean the space was and the design of the space. It was easy to get cozy and comfortable. Just hanging out at the house was enjoyable and there was plenty of space for 4 of us - we could have had a few more. It was a lovely getaway!

Our family just spent spring break at the “castle” as the kids called it. We all had an amazing time. The place is plenty spacious and the top floor tower room was great for watching animals during the day and star gazing at night. Ron was very responsive and made us feel welcomed. FYI, the garbage drop off is about 10mins away. We dropped off the night before we left to save another trip the day of check out. We will definitely plan another trip to the castle in our future!

Very nice place, a short drive into Galena and around 20 minutes to Chestnut Mountain. We stayed there with our daughter and two of her friends, and they thought it was great. It snowed before we arrived, and we appreciated that Stefania removed the snow and made it easy to get in and out.

we had a wonderful time over New Year’s at this beautiful house on a private pond. It was cold out, but so cozy and comfortable inside. I definitely plan on going back!

Steve was a great host and got back to us quickly anytime we had a question. The area is very secluded, and the road is somewhat shaky to navigate with a smaller car. Other than that the house was great and in a beautiful, peaceful spot.

We came into town for a project and stayed here. 3 separate sleeping areas was nice.

This place is a beautiful little getaway. Right up the road from the river, it is peaceful and quiet. Lots of fun architecture to see in town and the river walk is lovely. Our dogs were welcomed which made the trip 10x more enjoyable. The house is cozy, warm and feels very much like home. Sue has an entry table in the home with suggestions for local activities, eateries, shopping which was nice to refer to. Overall we were happy with the space. It was nice to know that Sue was in the house next door for questions, but she very much provided privacy unlike some places I’ve stayed. I highly recommend!

We had a great time! Not far from the ATV parks, beautiful set up right on the water. The hot tub was amazing on a chilly night!

Rustic River was perfect located close to my fishing tournament. Clean comfortable cabin.

Loved the cabin! My fiancé, my dog and I had a great time here.
