This was a great place to get together with a few family members the day after Thanksgiving. Cozy and good for hanging out.

Beth and Grant’s home was the perfect getaway for our family! The home is beautiful and nestled perfectly on the property, surrounded by trees and plenty of outdoor area. The amenities are exactly as described and there are plenty of hiking trails and other outdoor activities just a short drive away. Beth and Grant were excellent communicators before, during, and after our trip, and we would definitely consider staying here again for any future trips to Southern Illinois!

Victoria is a gem and this place is so special! My family is from Southern Illinois but we mostly all live scattered across the country now. We came together for a funeral and needed to be together for feeling the family support joy and love that our family has always had. This house provided us with exactly what we needed. Plenty of shared space with comfortable seating, privacy in each guest room along with private bathrooms in each room. Gorgeous wrap around porch overlooking the pound! Absolute perfection. A must if coming to Southern Illinois! And Victoria is 4 minutes away if there’s anything you have a question about or need. We enjoyed it sooooo much we plan to rebook for future holiday celebrations together! Truly holds a very special memory for my family now. Thank you!

We loved how the history of the house stayed with it. We loved the fact you left memories of the owner. When we pulled in we thought the house was going to be so tiny and that it wasn't going to work. once we walked in we were totally shocked. There was tons of room, upstairs and downstairs. It was so peaceful and homey.

Teresa's place was perfect for visiting our SIUC student, it is only 12 minutes away from campus but it feels like it is a different world. So much fun to be surrounded by trees and to hear the birds in the morning. (We are from Chicago and the spring is so much further ahead in Carbondale.) We love how close the place is to Cedar Lake. It is a great Airbnb for the 3 of us with everything we needed to cook and live life for a few days. We love that Teresa is so dog friendly, with 2 dogs of her own.

Jessica's place is exactly as advertised. The house is clean and the surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. I have stayed with Jessica many times and will continue to do so. Jessica's place is a must stay and ranked at top of my list.

Everything about this place was splendid!! Even in the winter! The place was VERY clean, well-kept, and just felt welcoming!! It was the perfect quiet get-a-way with gorgeous views! We would LOVE to check this lovely place out again in the spring, summer, or fall. Kevin was very responsive, friendly, and accommodating. Very charming! We would LOVE to visit again.

If you are looking for a nice old house in a neat little town this is it. We had our family visit us from the area and it was a perfect place to host from. The kitchen was well stocked and made cooking a breeze. Also the host was very responsive to any questions we had about the house and the area. We will definitely stay here again if we will be in the area!

We’re traveling for my husband’s job with our 2 dogs, the Windbreak was just what we needed. The George’s are excellent hosts, the place was safe, clean and quiet, and they even welcome you with brownies! My dogs loved exploring the woods and Betsy was very sweet to show us the trails, definitely recommend and would stay again!

Great place to stay! Convenient location. Easy check in with clear instructions. Host was very responsive and helpful throughout the stay. Everything was well furnished and cozy. Will definitely consider stay here again.

Ashley and her lakefront rental were both amazing! She made check in and out so seamless and easy , place was juys wayt we needed As makanda girl I really enjoyed the peaceful private yet safe neighborhood feel a lot It was wonderful to sit on that bench and watch the sunset over the lake and was so serene Hope to stay there again sometime Ashley was great

Anna's listing was just as described. Nice place out of town. Anna was very friendly and responsive. She worked with me on entrance due to a funeral; which I greatly appreciated!

Enjoyed the stay for the weekend. Had 2 trucks one pulling a boat and one pulling 2 jet skis and had plenty of room to park. Bedroom has 4 twin size beds and one full sized bed along with a big sectional. Had pots and pans so we could cook. Nice place to stay overall would recommend to a friend

Tracy was easy to reach and very responsive and helpful w any questions. She was very hospitable but not intrusive. Her place/neighborhood felt safe. As a female traveling alone that was very notable to me.

this was genuinely one of the best places we've stayed, I wish I could've stayed longer ! we got upgraded to the larger house, which was super nice! everything was clean, they turned on the lights for us to arrive, plenty of bedding and extras, super accomodating with an easy access shower and even a shower seat. they gave our dog treats and a little sign with his name on it, and food and water bowls. this was a very good stay and if I'm ever in this state again, I'll for sure go out of my way to stay here .

The perfect relaxing cabin. A short drive from gorgeous wineries and a quick walk to a beautiful hiking trail where we found over 12 mushroom species. Highly recommend this host!

Had the best time for a bachelorette party! Great deck and hot tub to relax. Had a bus pick us up and explore the Shawnee wine trail! Convenient distance to all local wineries!

We had a great time at the house. It was beautiful and clean and had all that we required . Its location is perfect , a walk h distance to the castle park which the younger kids loved and a short drive to giant city park and into town . Thanks for a great stay !

The cabin was just perfect. Exactly as Hannah described and well stocked with dishes, linens, extra blankets. Everything was clean and easy to navigate. We used the cabin as a base point for hiking at Shawnee National Forest and Giant City State Park. We came home tired each night and made w quick dinner in the kitchen and sat by the fire. The wi-fi was good enough for the kids to keep their devices going. 🤪 The beds were comfy and the whole experience was lovely.

The cabin was clean, secluded and very peaceful. We will stay there again when visiting family. Thank you Tom for a nice stay!

Stayed to visit our daughter at SIU. It is close to campus, about 10 minutes away. Loved being next to the barn and seeing the animals throughout the day. The house was clean and roomy for the two of us. Loved the screened in porch and deck which was used everyday. Would highly recommend!!

Nikki’s home was a wonderful spot to launch adventures with our kids in the Shawnee National Forest. We had 4 adults and three kids, and the space was just right for us. Nikki was super responsive, proactively reaching out to make sure we had what we needed. The home was just as described. The kids (7, 4, 3) loved the games in the garage and playing in the creek.
