This is a perfect little spot for a vacation or if you have family in town. The power went out for a couple of hours and Malis met us at the door with a lantern. She was friendly and responsive, considerate and kind. The space itself is adorable with a comfortable bed and a wide variety of appliances. I highly recommend!

Our weeklong stay was magical! As other reviewers have said, the outdoor space exceeds expectations. You can see the ocean (and occasionally whales!) while you relax on the lanai. The outdoor furniture is comfortable, with options for shade or sun. We were outside nearly the entire week. The king bed was very nice & the AC for sleeping kept us cool. The cottage is a 3 minute walk to sunset point (nightly!) or Manini Beach, a 10 minute drive to 2-step, or a 20-minute walk to Kaai Beach. Kayak rentals are around the corner. Twice we kayaked to Captain Cook (20-25 minutes) to snorkel-saw amazing fish, octopus, eel, and dolphins. Excellent local restaurants & a grocery store for essentials are up the hill (15-20 minutes). There are no coffee shops or restaurants within walking distance, which we knew & appreciated. If you are looking to unplug & get in the water, it’s perfect. Rusty & Janice are lovely hosts.

For me personally, Maria’s place rates right at the top of all the places I’ve stayed at using Airbnb (and certainly well above any hotel stay). If you are looking for a place that is just far enough away from Kona to allow for a bit of calm, you should book Maria’s place without hesitation. It was a short albeit steep walk to Pebble Beach. We ventured out easily to Milolii, Green Sand beach (do that one early!), Hookena and Two Step beaches as well as Kona, Kealakekua, and Captain Cook. We very much enjoyed the space and it was definitely more than I thought it would be. More than that though, Maria was always approachable, responsive immediately, and a pleasure to get to know.

We stayed just one quick night here after landing on the island. It was a great little space. Very clean, seemed brand new, convenient to town, and you could see the ocean from the cute front porch. The bed was very soft, like a cloud you melted into. Normally I don't like soft beds but this one was nice. It is a stand alone space but wasn't quite as private/secluded as I thought. In case someone wanted more privacy, but it wasn't an issue for us. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

If you're looking g for a unique experience, I highly recommend this place. Great location 2 minute walk to beach, great location for your South side adventures. Wake up to the sound of ding birds and ocean waves.

A nice rural experience, very peaceful and comfortable!

We had to make a last minute change to our itinerary and were able to book Kaia's place at the last minute. We were so happy our plans brought us here! Kaia is a great and friendly communicator. The space is so comfortable, accommodating, and Kaia has anticipated any need you might have. We felt right at home and very comfortable here. Oh, and the view...must be visited to believe! Wish we were still there.

Welcoming and friendly on-site hosts, nice open air kitchen and dining area for meals, central location for west side of island, and a place that now feels like an island home away from home.

Huge thank you to NaNa, her place is a beautiful location and very affordable to said location. Walkable to beaches and close by to town. Felt like a very safe neighborhood and it was a perfect stay!

An excellent getaway location! Brings you tranquility and peace! A secluded oasis that made one night feel like a weeks stay! A truly restful location that restores your energy and vitality! The gardens, ponds, and waterfalls on the property are amazing. The landscaping to showcase all aspects are second to none. The beauty of the location is enhanced by the meticulous care taken by the owners. A true gem that we can’t wait to return to.

The cottage was cute and welcoming. We had great time there while enjoying travel around the Big Island. Andrew was a great host. Anna

helpful host and nice house. Everything is perfect except for some cockroaches intruders. Highly recommended for those who love immersive experience in nature but also want to be close to amenities like restaurants and stores.

Kiki and Bernie were excellent hosts! Since the guest house is located in the back yard next to the pool, communication was very important and they were very upfront about what we needed to know to access the stay, and answering any questions we had. They did a great job making the guest house feel private. My only regret is that we couldn't find the time to go try Bernie's sourdough pizza at the farmer's market down the road!

Great location! Easy access to good restaurants and coffee shops, but very quiet and peaceful. The dark skies at night offer excellent stargazing. Very pleasant indoors with high exposed-beam ceiling and lots of windows.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Kimo’s Getaway. The place is spacious and nicely decorated. We felt so much at home. The views and sunsets are spectacular. Jim is very kind and he did everything to make sure we had everything we needed. A real 5 star experience.

This was the perfect stay for our last day on the island since our flight was the next morning. Lovely neighborhood, cozy, and more spacious than initially expected.

Joe has made sure that his space offers an impeccable slice of paradise and is great value for the luxury on offer. When you're in the garden by the pools you really feel like you have a little resort all to yourself. The sunsets from the front lawn and living room are incredible. The house had everything that we needed as well as extra beach/pool/snorkeling equipment that we weren't expecting. Joe also provided a high chair and crib for our baby which were both of great quality. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to go back.

Julya was a fantastic host with great communication, customer centric service mentality providing timely responses. We loved our stay in the home which was very well maintained and Julya ensured every step on the way that all our needs were met and our stay was smooth. Julya provided all the needed info about the home prior to our travel timeline which was very helpful for us to understand when we got there. We absolutely enjoyed the home and would love to come back again!

My partner and I stayed here for a week-long adventure on the Big Island. The place was very well maintained and cleaned upon on our arrival, and the hosts were friendly and proactive. The location was perfect for all the excursions we wanted to take throughout the week, with the city center nearby as well. We would highly recommend staying here for any short or long visits on this beautiful island! Mahalo!!

We had such a wonderful stay at Caleb and Christyn’s place. It was a wonderful neighborhood filled with turkeys and pheasants and chickens along w some kitties and pups. The view of the ocean. And sunset is great. It was so nice to have a washer and dryer. They were very responsive to any questions we had. It truly felt like a home away from home. Mahalo!
