Just a few miles south of downtown Hilo, Richard’s Lilikoi house is a great place to stay, especially if you want easy beach access. There are multiple beaches within walking distance, some with lifeguards. You feel like a local staying here. Richard provided lots of information on places to go and things to see and do. One warning - there is a rogue rooster that starts crowing around 4a (all the others wait until after 6a). 😜

Beautiful, clean house with a beachy feel. Kids loved the abundant green geckos, spacious yard with tons of birds, and a cute little window seat. We loved the clean house/beds, great windows, well stocked kitchen, peaceful nature sounds and perfect temperature for sleeping. Near a beautiful part of the coast for crashing waves and scenery, and good proximity to volcanoes national park and popular waterfalls. Centrally located but did still feel like we did a fair bit of driving (it’s a big island!) Really enjoyed our stay, and Suzy was super quick to respond to any questions, and genuinely seemed to want us to enjoy the natural beauty of this part of Hawaii. Mahalo!

This place is a great home base for exploring Volcanoes National Park and the Hamakua coast. The house was exactly as pictured. We had no major issues. It did get a little warm in there at night but it was air conditioned with wall mounted and window units. It’s located right off of the main road but was quiet at night. The view is next level…literally right on Hilo Bay. Truly beautiful. Super close to downtown Hilo. You could walk if you want but you’d have to go over the Hilo Bay bridge which can be busy. Jordan was a great host…responsive and extremely helpful. Overall I would recommend this place as a quality jumping off point for exploring this half of the Big Island.

This is the place to stay if you want to feel more like a local and less like a tourist. Absolutely beautiful location, wonderful host and close to great restaurants in Pahoa. The property itself also had beautiful trails to walk with steam vents on site, truly a tropical paradise. Jacqueline was absolutely wonderful and her pup was great at public relations! Will definitely come back if we get a chance!

Our stay was AMAZING!!! The house was fantastic and clean! The decorations are very modern and feels right at home. We enjoyed the quietness. The host was super responsive and recommended some great restaurants near the area. We will come back again

We loved our stay at this peaceful home in a tropical forest. It had everything you could need and was so comfortable. Peggy was great with communication and instructions and any questions that you may have. It was perfect being so close to Volcano National Park. We hope to stay here again in the future! Thank you for such a great experience.

Just spent 4 nights here and I have to say hands down, the beds were amazing! We had some of the best sleep here. I'm not kidding. Believe the reviews about this! The unit was as described. The lights surrounding the home really helped us easily find it. We got in late and had a few questions, Daryl was very responsive and helpful. Thanks for a great extended weekend in your home. We felt safe and comfortable. Especially since we left early and came back late after spending time in Volcanoes NP and exploring the beautiful Big Island.

We were within 10-15min of Volcano National Park and as a result we were able to catch the eruption of Kīlauea the first night we checked in, and then one last time on the morning we checked out! Also, my husband and I felt right at home, were very appreciative of the comfort that the space provided, and how responsive Brenda was! Also, the hot tub was broken and Brenda had an inflatable hot tub in place of that till the new one could be installed. That was awesome! My husband and I used it multiple times and were very appreciative of it being there. Also, having a spot to be able to do my work - dining room table or desk space - was great as I unfortunately had to take my work with me. Brenda is a great host and very responsive to messages.
