We had a delightful and peaceful stay in Christine’s accommodation which is homely and well equipped for an overnight stay. Christine and her family were warm and inviting. The garden is pretty and a lovely space to unwind after a drive and it offered us a beautiful setting for breakfast. The children engaged playfully and our son loved that he was invited to feed the horse and bottle feed the little lamb.

I wish I could give this more than 5 stars. The accommodations are exactly what you expect, it’s in the middle of the Karoo. This isn’t a modern tech-fuelled getaway, this is a Karoo breakaway from everything that is loud and intrusive in our everyday lives. Chante is one of the best hosts I have encountered, she makes the best ‘plaaskos’, while being very humble about her skills, she is a true master chef. The food was incredible! Herself and her youngest son made us feel right at home. Horseback riding, sheep sheering, quad bike if you like. This is an absolute gem and we would go back for the hospitality alone. Make this a regular stopover on the way, you will not regret it!

The 'Kliphuis' on Kalkfontein farm is 'next-level' off-grid living and we really enjoyed our two nights there. The peacefulness we experienced, is exactly what our souls needed to recover from our hectic city-lives. Just candles at night, a beautiful warm crackling fire in the huge fireplace, the unbelievable night-sky, with stars so close it feels you can reach up and touch them, a hot shower before snuggling into a cozy, clean bed. You feel like you become part of history staying in the beautifully restored old stone house. Anine is one of the most authentic people we have met and takes great care to ensure you have everything you need as her guest. We will definitely be back.

Setting of both the cottage number 1 and the main house were outstanding. Cottage was excellent for stargazing and peace and serenity. The house was a green lush oasis that was so nice on the eyes. Chante.. Elegant, cheerful, friendly, one of nicest, most helpful and enjoyable hosts I've encountered in nearly 100 Airbnb stays. South African hospitality is hard to beat. It's just world class. Truly. I could continue with more superlatives but maybe the best way is to see and experience. It's off the beaten track which is great. It created a very memorable stay for me..one that will last long in my memory.

The stay at the Corbelled house was nothing short of magnificent. The photos don’t do it justice! The expansive environment and attention to detail in the home is amazing. A beautiful time warp. And Charlene - who runs the farm and cares for the guests is wonderful. Thank you!
