An absolutely charming and simple haven on the magnificent Madawaska River. Hugh is a perfect host.

We had a fantastic stay for a long weekend (birthday) getaway. Nice private location with a view. Enjoyed the hot-tub while watching the first snowfall of the season, wood stove and the well stocked kitchen. Host even left some treats for my pup, which she really enjoyed and was very responsive/helpful. Pros: private location, right on the water, kayak/canoe/hot tub for use, well stocked kitchen, responsive host! Cons: (only 1!) mice! My dog could not stop hunting the cabin throughout our stay lol (she is dedicated, like a cat!) , and we did find some droppings on the dishes in the cupboards, before use. Overall - we had a fantastic time. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay. We hope to be back soon!

This place is amazing and the pictures don’t do it justice. We stayed here for a week at the end of August and this cottage is set on the most amazing lake which is perfect for swimming and all water activities. They provided everything you could really think of like bedding, towels and laundry facilities. Every single evening we were surrounded by deer as they come onto the property to eat which was incredible to see. Would highly suggest this cottage to anybody looking for a week in paradise. Enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property, has everything you need. We stayed the week of valentines and couldn’t have asked for more. I could only imagine how perfect it would be in the summer with the water sports and many other amenities this property offers. Erika and Adam were kind and responsive and helped us with all our needs!! Definitely would go again.

the stay at Victoria's place was very quiet and relaxing at her location just out of town, her location is surrounded by the beauty of nature. Victoria her self is a very friendly and pleasant host , she will greet you with a smile, thanks Victoria

We stayed at Robin’s place for a weekend with 3 other families. Had a wonderful time and made full use of the great facilities. Highly recommended.

We loved our stay on Fairy Lake Island. Kim was a wonderful host who went above and beyond to insure we had everything we needed or wanted during our stay. The house was thoughtfully supplied with every amenity. The many outdoor spaces to relax and enjoy the amazing views were perfect. Every evening was a spectacular sunset with the best view on the lake. We couldn't ask for a better experience.

This is our second stay at the cabin and we had an amazing weekend . The cabin is exactly as described and the water is so clean and clear..Don is always super helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Already planning another weekend :)

We took a few days to experience winter wonderful and we got this at this lovely cottage. Coming from the GTA area, looking for a peaceful cottage, this was a welcoming space. We thank Chris for allowing us to decompress and just enjoy a bit of winter before spring comes!

Absolutely amazing, we had great plans, but the ice storm and the cozy fireplace changed those plans. Hermann and Tracy were an absolute blast! Super chill, and super friendly, we would come back just to spend time with them! We had a cute visitor to come check up on us as well! We hope to be back, thank you hosting us Hermann and Tracy!

The stay was incredible! I would say that the pictures matched, but it was so much more than what we expected. The space was bigger, was really well taken care of, and the owners were amazing people. Even when a minor issue happened, they were right on top of it and it didn't affect our stay in the slightest. I would 100% come back

We had a wonderful time here! Michaels place is a treasure trove of antiques and artwork that made the place feel magical. The house itself was clean. Michael was easy to get ahold of when needed and it was a great time. :)

I had the most wonderful stay at Jared’s cottage on Jordan Lake in Gilmour, Ontario! From the moment we arrived, Jared went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed for a perfect getaway. His hospitality was truly exceptional – he even extended our check-out time to 1 pm, giving us extra time to enjoy the serene surroundings. The cottage itself was cozy, clean, and had all the amenities we could ask for. The lake view was breathtaking, and it was the perfect spot to relax and reconnect with nature. Whether it was answering questions promptly or ensuring our comfort, Jared’s attention to detail made our stay unforgettable. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat with an outstanding host, this is the place to be! Highly recommend and can’t wait to visit again. Thank you, Jared!

South Bay Cottage is truly a perfect and lovely lake getaway. Drive off the main road and into your own private cove outfitted with everything you need for a wonderful stay. Once inside, the view of Lake Stoney can be seen through the large windows from anywhere in the main room. The sunsets and starry skies were so peaceful - and even though locals told us it was unusual - we actual had an amazing view of the Northern Lights! We loved that this cottage included all the linens we needed and lots of areas to get cozy and read a book - including the extra-special gazebo. While the kitchen area is small - it is well equipped with everything we needed. Close to great hikes (Petroglyph Provincial Park, High Falls at Eels Creek, Warsaw Caves, and many others.) Also great to explore the area's great golf courses, Wanderlight Alpaca walks (a must do), Peterborough Pete's hockey, Peterborough theatre, and amazing restaurants in Lakefield (Loon, Cassia, and more). Melissa was a wonderful host!

Our family had a lovely time! It’s nice that it’s only a 5 min drive to town. We loved exploring the creek and river in the canoe. We also checked out the Marmoraton Mine which was cool. Julianna was super friendly and answered all my questions. This was already mentioned in the post but keep in mind the stairs to the 3 upstairs bedrooms are difficult for seniors as they are a little steep and the top couple steps don’t have a handrail. It’s good that there is one bedroom downstairs for people with mobility issues. We had a great time thank you Julianna!

The retreat is a lovely tranquil spot in the Ottawa Valley. It is spacious and comfortable, with lots of big windows looking out on the surrounding countryside. The only close neighbours are the deer and the wild turkeys. Carol is a friendly and charming host and she responds right away to any requests. Highly recommended! I plan to return, any time that urban life gets to be too much!

We had a lovely time staying here over the August long weekend. Very short drive into Gananoque, everything was as advertised, everything was very clean, instructions were clear. The host was very responsive to any questions or concerns (we had a power outage for a few hours during a storm). We did a bit of canoeing, however it should be said that once you get out onto the St. Lawrence the current is quick so be prepared to row! Happy the place was pet friendly as our small dog had a great time. There were three air conditioning units (1 in each bedroom and 1 in main area) and, while we were grateful for the relief on hot days, they were a little bit on the noisy side while watching TV or winding down to sleep. The only thing we would have wanted was access to the washer/dryer, but as it's stipulated they're only available for longer stays we were fine to respect our host's rules. Overall very happy with our stay and would absolutely consider staying again in the future.

Gwen and Ken are wonderful and down to earth people. We felt right at home when staying here. We are already talking about going back in the summer. 😊
