Kennet and Avon Canal : séjours à la ferme

I had a beautiful time at the Stables! It’s a getaway from the world at a working farm. I love animals, so I asked to meet some of them, and Yvonne took me to see (and pet!) the milking cows, and explained the entire process to me! The house had traditional charm but was has been updated everywhere that it counts. They have lists of local recommendations but I was happy to get groceries and use the excellent kitchen at the property. I did not have a car and was warned about difficulty getting around but as I was only interested in nature and peace and quiet, getting to and from on public transport was easy enough. Finally, Yvonne was always prompt responding to me and was very friendly and welcoming! I’d love to come back!

Just come back from a two night stay in the Haybarn. It was very relaxing and comfortable and warm. Pippa was very communicative and responded to questions very quickly. Check-in was extremely easy and the location directions very easy to find. There was everything you needed in the property with some little added extras ie milk tea coffee sugar shampoo and things like that. Having the pool right next door to the living room was amazing although heated it was still a tad cold but you can’t please everyone not a complaint but personal choice. The bed was extremely comfortable and bed linen of a high standard. You would need to drive to local shops for provisions as too far to walk.

Hayley is fabulous, very accommodating and friendly. Willow barn is gorgeous, very well equipped and in a perfect location for us exploring Romsey and the surrounding area. We’d definitely recommend Hayley and Willow Barn.

Amazing location, just a short distance from Salisbury, very peaceful location. Enjoyed seeing all the animals around the farm. Lovely view of Salisbury Cathedral.

A second very comfortable stay, thank you! This is a beautiful, well equipped, spotlessly clean and comfy property. The hot tub is brilliant, with lovely views over the fields behind. We also appreciated all the thought that has gone into making guests comfortable, from the fresh milk and local cheese in the fridge, to the home made cake, to the stove made up ready to light, and not to forget the extremely comfy beds. Communication was always prompt, friendly and helpful - we were very grateful for the flexibility around check in and check out times. We will hope to come back!

Lovely place to stay, tucked away nicely for some peace and quiet, but still walking distance from the main street of Glastonbury. Kitchen had everything we needed and more. Our 2 year old was obsessed with Talia's cats, they were wonderful and very friendly. The garden is fully enclosed which is a definite plus when you have small children or a pet.

Set in beautiful peaceful surroundings with plenty of space for our dog to run around. Bed was huge and soo comfortable. Waterfall shower was gorgeous and heated floor was an added bonus in hallway and bathroom. Pub within walking distance which served hot food of a good standard. Charles was a lovely host who really made you feel welcome and his knowledge of the area was outstanding. Real peaceful weekend away. Would definitely recommend and come again if we were in the area. Good for exploring Cotswolds.

Beautiful converted barn with stunning scenery, especially on the very sunny weekend we visited. Great location for travelling into Bourton-on-the-Water. The barn had everything we needed and Sarah was really proactive in communicating with us about directions and accessing the barn.

Nicky and Mark’s place is beyond perfection! Waking up to a picturesque farm with lots of sheep was unexpectedly calming! My husband and I could gaze at the view all day long. Everything exceeds our expectations. We could really feel how much care and effort they put into designing this Airbnb, aesthetically and practically. All the home decorations go so well with the wooden fixtures and neutral colors. The amount of windows and lights make the house very well-lit. The kitchen is stocked with seasonings and tools for guests to cook with no fuss. Complimentary milk and flowers were offered too. A great selection of books and games were supplied. I particularly love how they support their community by promoting local businesses and attractions in their house guide and curating tons of reading materials about the surroundings and Wiltshire. This is hands down the best Airbnbs I’ve stayed in. This barn house honestly is the best place to rewind and recharge. Will definitely come back!

Was perfect for a Valentines getaway! We are so grateful to Sam and Adrian for extending their hospitality, they truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to make sure we had plenty of information about the surrounding area! We have to give our thanks also to William who provided lots of snacks and drinks through his tuck shop :) The barn itself was cosy yet spacious, the bed was super comfortable and water pressure in the shower was decent. The kitchen was fully-equipped for us to make a beef wellington on Valentines night!! Even the temperatures were near freezing - that didn’t stop us from taking full advantage of the fire place out on the patio! Overall we had a wonderful stay and would love to come and stay again! We thoroughly enjoyed our staycation/weekend getaway at Mel’s place with our dog. Everything was as described in the listing and we felt at home straight away. Mel was super helpful when providing information on local walks, pubs, restaurants, shops etc. I would highly recommend Mel’s place to family and friends for a cozy and peaceful getaway, likewise would stay again if in the area. Had a lovely weekend stay with the dog, Catherine provided really clear instructions and the house has everything you need for a short stay. The welcome basket was really thoughtful. Cheddar gorge in walkable distance and lovely walks around cheddar reservoir nearby too.

My second stay here, a beautiful cottage in a quiet village. Pub shop and cafe, all within a 3 minute walk and all excellent. Lovely bed linens and shower, perfect retreat thank you.

Carol’s place is very comfortable and luxurious - just as described in the listing. It’s a perfect location within walking distance of all the amenities in the lovely village of Marshfield and close to Bath and Bristol. Highly recommended.

Harriet’s cute Barn Conversion was perfect for our West Country road trip. Plenty of space, cool, tranquil decor. Lovely hard floors and underfloor heating which was easy as we had x2 dogs with us. We enjoyed cooking with the well stocked kitchen and games after dinner. Comfy sofa area which easily fitted us four! It really was a perfect stay, with comfy beds and fluffy towels. The garden was just coming into bloom & I bet is beautiful in the summer months. Do not hesitate to book! Thanks, Jo & family.

I felt very at home! The barnlet is spotlessly clean, homely and has everything you need! It really is very well equipped! Hayley has clearly thought of everything! Host is very helpful, extremely responsive and friendly! Made an effort to say "Hello", which is always nice! I felt very relaxed and safe! The area is private and felt very secure. It truly is a wonderful countryside retreat! I will be returning if it's available when I need it again in the future! I HIGHLY recommend this place!

we had a wonderful New Year stay at this gorgeous barn. We received a very warm welcome from Jack, Hayley and Meadow and soon settled in. The accommodation was great and the surrounding area is beautiful. The barn was warm and cosy and the views from the windows were stunning. Our dogs enjoyed the walks in the surrounding fields and copse, especially the stream. We had a lovely relaxing stay and would definitely like to return.
