Kennet and Avon Canal : chambres d'hôtel

Brilliant stay, pleasantly surprised that the lodge was more spacious than it looked the photos! Location is perfect for exploring the Cotswolds. Communication was excellent throughout, even given freedom to check out late.

We had a lovely stay from beginning to end. A very warm welcome, felt right at home. Large bedroom & bathroom, both immaculate, very comfy bed, which was great after all the walking!! Special thanks to Ian the pub landlord, made the stay extra special & full of information. Will definitely be going back!

I have visited the pub a couple of times before but this is the first time I have stayed at Alma Tavern. I stayed in Room 1 which was clean, warm and quiet. All the bar staff were friendly and gave clear instructions on how to check in (both while the pub was open and closed) and where to leave the key on check out. The communal breakfast area is a nice touch and it was nice to have cold milk and a bottle of cold water. Although the windows overlook a road, I found it quiet and no problem at all. One other guest commented on it being a good idea to look past the initial staircase to the rooms and I agree, I guess it could do with a lick of paint but the room itself and the location of the pub mean I will be looking to book again soon. Just in case it is of interest, parking on Alma Vale Road is free from 5pm to 9am and then you can park for 3 hours using RingGo or just pay at the machine. I arrived at 4, paid for one hour, then just set RingGo to cover the car from 9 to midday.

Wonderful location overlooking the lake. Lovely views, short walk from cafes and some great walks nearby, as well as a short drive into Cirencester. Great to meet Neil a couple of times, who was super friendly and on hand for anything we needed. Would highly recommend - we'll definitely be back!

we had a lovely stay, a very cosy clean space with a great bed. We slept so well and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Janet was a very helpful, welcoming host and the tea tray was a lovely surprise. Will definately come again

My stay at Judith's was short, sweet and exactly what I needed for a local business trip. The picture doesn't do it justice in my opinion, the room was charming and the bed was SO comfortable. The house was peaceful, welcoming and felt like a home from home. Judith was an extremely proactive and helpful with her messaging and once I was there. Would highly recommend and the only down side was that I only got to enjoy it for one night!

Liang’s home was even better than it appears in the pictures: an extremely clean and simple space. We were undisturbed and comfortable, and able to come and go as we pleased in the night using our key. This served our purpose of visiting friends in Bristol. Thank you!
