We had a wonderful stay at Sag Lodge. Jessica, the caretaker, was very responsive when we had any questions or concerns. The lake in front of the cabin is just stunning with a private dock for easy access. We were able to see so many loons during our stay out on the water. Wonderful canoes for use, the sauna was excellent, and the set up of the rooms and living room/big deck worked well for our group. One thing to be aware of, the lodge is next door to a public boat launch, so it is not as private as some homes on the water, but still plenty beautiful and serene. Overall, highly recommend this spot!

Enjoyed our stay. Right next to Madeline island ferry, in the heart of Bayfield. Would stay here again!

Well I showed up at the end of Apple Fest, which I had no idea about. Couldn’t get to the location because of traffic control. Called Dave. He totally put me at ease and gave me excellent instructions to my room. This is a sweet small hotel with views of the harbor. I came to Bayfield to eat whitefish livers. I’ll return to Dave’s with family to enjoy the environs. Great customer service. Everything about this stay was more than satisfactory. And the Whitefish livers at Greunke’s were amazing—and it was a block or so walk away. The restaurant is historic and serves way more delicious things than just my livers! Totally recommend to others who want accommodations in this destination. Note my room is for 1or 2 folks.

It was a nice stay in this place with friends and families. The place is quiet, peaceful with a beautiful lake view. We stayed for one night; cooking for dinner was convenient, all the beds were clean and comfy.

Great getaway, the drive up was quite scenic. Nice shared space to cook a meal with plenty of utensils

Dave provided a great place to stay in Bayfield on short notice! The room was clean and comfortable and within walking distance to everything in Bayfield. The price of the stay was great too.

Loved our stay! Right on the lake with a view. Walkable to the Madeline Island Ferry just across the parking lot. Many restaurants, shops and trails close by. Easy check in. Well kept grounds with Adirondack chairs to enjoy the view. Quiet for a good nights sleep. Would definitely stay again.

thoroughly enjoyed our private getaway, had breakfast on the lovely deck daily with awesome views of the lake. The overall experience was awesome, we will be back and have suggested this to six friends who will book in the future. kudos to the two of you for taking on this. awesome motel and allowing us to enjoy it! We thoroughly enjoyed talking to Isaac on our way out as well, noting that his wife Molly is from our area!

What a wonderful stay! It was a beautiful, snowy winter weekend in Bayfield that was magnified by the warm amenities provided at St. James Social. The restaurant downstairs is DELICIOUS and the staff are amazingly friendly. I’ll be recommending this stay to anyone and everyone heading up to Bayfield, WI!
