James was amazing at giving recommendations and ensuring that everything goes well for our stay. The hikes we took, off of his recommendations are ones that my family and I will never forget. The home was great, easy instructions to follow and amazing time in the jacuzzi with a scenic view. The location is not very far drive to a few towns to walk around and explore and just a few minutes away from the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance which was a plus to our trip.

Loved our stay! It was wonderful to just unplug a bit, enjoy the peace and quiet of the woods and play some board games with our kids. It was quick access to the Cataloochee Ski Resort once down to main road which was our main purpose for the trip. The Only thing I wish I had known prior to our arrival was the last of grocery options, had I known I would have made sure to stop and stock up prior to our arrival.

if you’re looking for a place to truly wind down and relax, this is the right place for you. My girlfriend and I had an absolutely wonderful time, and we’d love to come back sometime. Would definitely recommend!

We had a great weekend overall staying at Overlook Nook! The house looked just like the pictures and was well cleaned. The hot tub was nice as well (after it took a little while to heat up). You can’t tell in the photos, but the house is located very close to other houses and is on a crowded street. So, it isn’t a private, secluded rental. But, it was very conveniently located so it was close to many things! The only cleanliness issue was a few stains on the king sized comforter in the primary bedroom. Also, as some other guests mentioned, you have to take your trash with you to avoid paying $50 for trash removal. Although it was an inconvenience, we thankfully didn’t have much trash. Overall, our stay was great and the house was located within an hour to a lot of popular places which was great!

Very nice place to stay. We we located close to all things in Maggie Valley. Cozy home with plenty of room. Loved the basement game room.

This was our second stay at this home and we loved it just as much as the first time!

This lovely modern 3 bdrm home was beautifully maintained and stocked with ample towels, pantry items, flat screen TV with cable/satellite, all necessary appliances including a Keurig coffee maker and w/d. The country setting was quiet and peaceful yet close to Asheville. Jon was very easy to work with and quickly responded to any questions. Access to the home was easy.

The cottage is easy to find and has great access to the lake. We walked on the walking path every afternoon during our stay. The cottage has great amenities and is a great value. The location is within 5-10 minutes of almost all restaurants/shopping you could need during your stay. Highly recommend.

We had such a wonderful stay at this cozy mountain cabin! The home was absolutely beautiful—clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained. The 5 acres of land and the running creek made for such a peaceful and private getaway. Our Australian Shepherd loved having so much space to roam and especially appreciated the fenced area where she could play safely. It was the perfect spot for both relaxation and adventure. Lindsey was friendly, responsive, and made sure everything went smoothly. We’d definitely recommend staying here and hope to return ourselves soon!

I can't emphasize this enough, but the pictures of the cottage don't do it justice. I was a little sad, because it has such a great aesthetic and I wish our house looked this way! It is the perfect place to read some C.S. Lewis or Tolkien. The cottage has a very traditional style with beautiful furnishings and many interesting books. Beyond that, the location is a very short walk right into the heart of Waynesville. I would definitely recommend this to friends and family, and we'd love to stay here again. Make sure to take a look at the binder on the coffee table, as it has a brief history of the cottage and its origin. Thank you for the awesome experience!

This lovely cottage was so amazing. We loved being there for the weekend and wish we could have stayed longer. We hope to return in the future. The kitchen had everything you need for a getaway. The linens were all comfy and great. It was so nice to be welcomed by their sweet dogs and we enjoyed visiting the chickens. It rained while we were there and loved hearing the rain on the metal roof. Claira, Andy and their children were so kind.

Sam’s place was clean and quiet. It was a great place for a getaway. Sam is an excellent host he responds to any issue very promptly. Highly recommend for your next mountain getaway.

This is our third stay with Cara. It’s a great small place for a getaway or parents coming to the area to visit a child at WCU. Also, great for visiting Bryson City, Dillsboro and Waynesville. Cara is very friendly and always very accommodating. We will definitely be returning.

Doug's home was exactly how it was presented. This location was perfect for us, it was a general location to where we needed to be to assist with Hurricane Helena relief. We came to assist the farmers and was a perfect central location. Was a very warming place to come back to in the evenings to relax. I highly recommend this home to anyone!!!

Awesome place to stay. Beautiful home and waking up to the sound of a creek near by and birds chirping made it even better....an awesome place to get away.....would highly recommend

Beautiful comfortable home. We enjoyed our stay and the forest privacy. The owner was always available for any questions we had. The creeks nearby were fun to visit and listen to. Just remember the main highway entrance and exits are all u-turns for safety. If your gps does not show a u-turn it is wrong and keep going to be safe.

Susan has appointed Wren Cottage to feel just like home. Games, books, a fully stocked kitchen (useful as I cooked a Thanksgiving dinner there!) and her original artwork for sale were all really personal touches that we loved. Her guidebook to the cottage and surrounding was really helpful. We loved being near the creek and near the cute little town of Waynesville, with great restaurants and shopping. Really clean and spotless! Love, love, love.

This place was better than we expected. Beautiful views, access to a golf cart during our stay, amazing restaurant, a game room, pool, and hot tub. Highly recommend!

Can’t say how much we love Bearcat Cottage! Always a quick response to any questions, on a rainy day played monopoly and uno, sunny days went swimming,kayaking and roasted marshmallows. My girls had a mini spa day and felt like they were in a “fancy” hotel (the slippers and robes)! Can’t wait to come back. Kitchen has everything and more!
