My stay at White Gum House was truly memorable. The serene surroundings, stunning views, and peaceful atmosphere made it the perfect getaway. The house was beautifully maintained, cozy, and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay.

Beautiful place to stay and responsive host. Great views, great space in the house, and amenities. The road to get to it is pretty narrow but our big rental van was still able to get there with careful driving.

We loved our stay, well laid out house with fantastic amenities in a stunning location. So much to keep you occupied, you don’t need to leave the house.

Our holiday at Helen's lakeside property was absolutely fantastic! The location could not have been more perfect, right in front of a serene lake with picture-perfect scenery. The view from the property was breathtaking, providing the perfect backdrop for a relaxing and memorable stay. The spacious outdoor deck allowed us to fully enjoy the natural beauty around us, whether we were having meals, playing games, or simply soaking in the view. Inside, the house was just as impressive—spacious, immaculate, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was clear that Helen has taken great care in maintaining the property, and it made our family feel right at home. What made this holiday even more special was the fact that it was a multi-generational trip with our children and grandchildren. Could not fault anything about the stay, the place was beautiful, clean, and very peaceful. The bed was comfortable which is a must. Would highly recommend. The communication and ease of check in was also great.

Very nice and clean place right by the water. All the things you need for a home is provided, and the shops are just 5mins away!

Thank you for a wonderful stay. We 6 adults for the weekend. There was plenty of space, the house was extremely clean, and very comfortable. We loved the open-plan kitchen/dining/loungeroom. Huge lounge, and a lovely big outdoor deck area, leading off the lounge. It was great having two bathrooms. The kitchen was very well stocked. Everything worked well. The location is so beautiful. Hope to be back.

We had an amazing stay! The place was fantastic – clean, comfortable, and perfectly located. Kate was incredibly responsive and friendly, making everything super easy. The jetty was a highlight, with plenty of activities to keep us entertained. Highly recommend for a relaxing and fun getaway!

My wife and I had a great time. The highlight was the waterfront view. Spent a good deal of time reading on deck overlooking Lake Macquarie—so good! And kayaks were a nice bonus. A few things to consider: if you like running, you may need to drive 5-15mins to a good running spot nearby (I really enjoyed driving to Speers Point and running there). Also—the cottage is essentially one big room (plus a laundry and bathroom), so it can be tricky for one person to go to sleep while the other stays up. Overall though we had a fantastic time—would recommend!

We highly recommend this place for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat with amazing views to bond with family and friends! Our stay at this cozy home was wonderful. The views were stunning, with the lake, pelicans, ducks and birds all creating a relaxing atmosphere. The large, private backyard was ideal for family bonding, picnics, and fishing! We travelled with our 11month old & it was a great way for our little one to absorb the scenery & utilise the sunroom Pavla and Paul were incredibly accommodating hosts, allowing last-minute adjustments to our plans and making us feel right at home. It's the little details that count, and having hosts who genuinely care about your experience truly enhances the holiday. It was a memorable stay, and we can’t wait to return again!

My husband & I had a wonderful weekend away from the hustle & bustle of city life. The cottage was lovely & full of character. The setting, amongst the tall eucalyptus trees with glimpses of the water below & the occasional wallaby visitor was very special. We enjoyed our time exploring the local area on foot, swimming near the Basin & going on a bushwalk. We'd be very happy to visit again!

Very beautiful place, close to the lake. Just impossible to increase the hot tub temp, even when set to 40 degrees. Good communication overall

A fantastic stay in a rustic cabin. Mackerel Beach is a stunning spot, and this cabin makes the most of it with an incredible upper deck offering breathtaking views—not to mention what might be the best outdoor shower I’ve ever experienced! The perfect escape from the city to unwind and explore the simple things — cooking, bush trails, walks and swimming. We took our two young boys who loved it (they were also absolutely fine making the journey up to the cabin).

This would have to be the cleanest place we have stayed in. Great location had everything we needed. Elize was so easy to chat too and so very helpful. We will definitely be going back

Fantastic location, peaceful and ideal to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city!! The boat ride to the accommodation is brilliant and Colin is happy to give his knowledge of the area. Cost of boat transfer needs to be factored into your budget when booking ($150 return) but all in all the money is very well spent on this accommodation.

great views and very peaceful , we loved our stay here , the only things we'd improve would be the shower which took ages to get the water warm and little pressure with only a shower curtain which didn't really stop water covering the bathroom floor , the other would be a longer jetty because when the tides out your literally stuck in the mud and unable to leave the property for 4- 6 hours depending on the tide height. Despite these issues we'd definitely stay again and Nicky was a great host .
