Christine & Rebecca are amazing hosts. Our group experienced some freezing rain during our stay which caused power outage. They were very communicative and considerate with our issues, offering a partial refund. Not only did they communicate well, but even after checkout, they were willing to help support our case to get a refund with Airbnb fees. For the cottage itself, it checked all of our boxes: lakefront view; pool table; hot tub; a private area (there were some neighbours but pretty far away); and plenty of beds that almost everyone in the group had their own to sleep on. I think the pictures don't do justice. The rooms in cottage are larger than what the pictures make it out to be. The hot tub was nice and warm. I can only imagine how fun the place would be in the Spring and Summer with the kayaks. This cottage is cozy and has "summer camp" vibes; this is perfect if that's what your after. I highly recommend booking here!

I had a wonderful stay! The place had that perfect rustic charm and was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and peaceful. It was the ideal spot to unwind and enjoy nature. The host was welcoming and very responsive, which made the experience even better. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

Daniel gave a thorough intro message of specifics the day of on top of what was already so clearly laid out. The property was beautiful with access to so many activity options. House is clean and spacious. We spent a lot of time on the dock which had a great selection of furniture and sun/shade options. The beach is a close walk. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and will likely be back to enjoy the space again!

Tatiana and Tymur were wondering hosts. They really care for their guests and for their beautiful cottage. The large windows in the cottage really showcased the beauty of the outdoor space. There are many rooms with comfortable beds and three washrooms - all well equipped- which was great as we were traveling in a larger group. The kitchen had everything you needed. We loved the large family living room, they even had extra games for us to play. Everything was kept tidy and clean. We all felt comfortable and at home. The family was already asking to come back in the summer! Thank you again ☺️

We had an incredible stay at this Airbnb! The home was clean, beautifully decorated, and incredibly inviting. The highlight for us was the hot tub, which was perfect for relaxing after a long day. The barbecue area was also great for cooking meals outdoors while enjoying the fresh air. Being right by the lake made the experience even more special – we loved waking up to the stunning views and taking in the peaceful surroundings. Overall, this place was the perfect blend of comfort, beauty, and relaxation. Highly recommend! Kevin was proactively ensuring we were comfortable. Would definitely revisit in the summer!

I had a fantastic stay this past weekend! The property was spacious, fun, and offered excellent amenities that made our visit truly enjoyable. The beds were comfortable, and everything was spotlessly clean. The host was incredibly accommodating and always available to answer any questions we had. We had a lovely weekend. Visiting family and celebrating a milestone birthday. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate in order to get outside but a lovely stay. We did not want for a thing. Thank you Steve

Tammy was the sweetest, most helpful hist to my parents. I booked this place for their 1 year anniversary weekend and they were in love. She left them a cute note and got them a bottle of wine to celebrate. They loved the space so much and felt right at home and didn't want to leave. Tammy thank you SO much for your hospitality and taking such good care of my parents. They will absolutely be back!!

Mark and Chris's place was amazing and even better in person. They were very responsive with any questions and took the time ahead of our check-in to ensure a smooth check in. South Bay Cottage is truly a perfect and lovely lake getaway. Drive off the main road and into your own private cove outfitted with everything you need for a wonderful stay. Once inside, the view of Lake Stoney can be seen through the large windows from anywhere in the main room. The sunsets and starry skies were so peaceful - and even though locals told us it was unusual - we actual had an amazing view of the Northern Lights! We loved that this cottage included all the linens we needed and lots of areas to get cozy and read a book - including the extra-special gazebo. While the kitchen area is small - it is well equipped with everything we needed. Close to great hikes (Petroglyph Provincial Park, High Falls at Eels Creek, Warsaw Caves, and many others.) Also great to explore the area's great golf courses, Wanderlight Alpaca walks (a must do), Peterborough Pete's hockey, Peterborough theatre, and amazing restaurants in Lakefield (Loon, Cassia, and more). Melissa was a wonderful host!

My group and I had an excellent stay at the cottage. The lake is beautiful and the property is as well; inside and out. The location is quiet, yet not too secluded, making the overall experience very peaceful. The home was also very clean, functional, and had even more amenities than we were even expecting! We had an amazing stay at this property! The house was spacious and perfect for our group, with plenty of room for everyone to relax and enjoy. The pool and hot tub were fantastic and a huge hit for both daytime and evening relaxation. The host was responsive and ensured we had everything needed for a great stay. I would recommend this place and would love to come back again.

We had a very relaxing, peaceful time at the cottage, it is the perfect place to recharge! Everything in the description is true. The place is spotless, tastefully done, awesome woodstove with wood supplied. The kitchen spice cupboard is a dream. The host even has some coffee if you run low. Everything is top of the line, what a treat! Another treat is feeding the birds, chipmunks, red squirrels and a friendly black one. Jars of food to share with our furry friends! This is our second time visiting. The location is easy to find and down the road from Apsley.Definitely worth the drive! Thanks Stephen we'll visit again.

Once again we had a great stay! This was our second year staying at Kunals' place and it was just as we expected. Kunal went above and beyond to accomodate us. Unfortunately a wk. before, due to a bad storm, the liner of the pool was damaged so the pool was inoperable. This is one of the main highlights of Kunals' place for us so it was a little disheartening because we were there for 8 days...HOWEVER, once again Kunal came through!! He purchased an 18ft back up pool and had it assembled and ready to go for our arrival so that we could still enjoy a pool!! My sister and I had a great time, enjoyed the peace and quiet and would stay at Kunals place over an all inclusive Carribbean trip anyday! House was clean, comfortable and we had everything we needed. Kunal gave us late checkout which was greatly appreciated! We will definitely be doing an extended stay next summer and are so looking forward to it! Thanks Kunal, you are a great host and we thank you for being so accomodating!!

We had a great Christmas week at Jeff’s beautiful cottage which is ideal for families or friends. The house is well equipped for a big group making for a pleasant and comfortable stay. We loved listening to Jeff’s vinyls by the fire and being surrounded by nature thanks to the large windows overlooking the river. I would love to come back in the spring or summer to discover different seasons on the river!

check in instructions are clear and easy to understand. Swift response for any questions asked. Overall a good stay.

Really enjoyed our stay, lots of space and lovely view off the lake. It was a bit cold, even with the heating, but we were able to make a fire which helped. Only issue is that the dump is only open certain days, which would have been helpful to know, but we managed to find other places to take it. Also, there were some amenities like towels, soap etc already there which was helpful. local foodland only 10 min drive to get other stuff and loads of lovely local walks. We had a great time.
