We had an amazing stay at Haida's. The house is great and has ample space. the front yard and backyard (which contains a pool) are perfect for lounging. Everything was clean and exactly as advertised. The place is outside of town so noise was never an issue, and it is very easy to get a boda or tuk-tuk if walking distance was too far. Lastly, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I can't emphasize this place enough. If we find ourselves in Kakamega again, we are for sure returning.

It's a great place to stay

We enjoyed our stay with the family. The house was clean and in a great surrounding which is not too far from town. The compound has a small well manicured garden area. Only downside was the kitchen which is not well equipped to host the 10guests that the house accommodates and what we booked for. From cookware to cutlery and utensils. On asking about the plates and cups we were provided with only 5plates, 6cups and 5spoons which came at an additional charge and yet the host didn’t mention this beforehand. Had to purchase plastic utensils as those provided weren’t enough either ways. They only need to do better in equipping their kitchen facilities or inform guests on additional charges of having utensils provided plus usage of gas for cooking. Overall would still recommend the place.

Douglas is not just a great guy but also very helpful. His place is not only spacious but well designed. It is located in a safe and serene neighborhood and offers an experience that you will enjoy and at a fairly reasonable cost.

This apartment was absolutely lovely! Beautifully decorated and very clean, perfect for our family of 5. We enjoyed walking to Cafe Javas and all the stores at Forest Mall. The area was quiet and peaceful and we felt safe. The hosts were incredibly kind and accommodating, allowing us flexibility at check-in and check-out while we were getting our transport sorted. We will definitely be staying here every time we come to Kampala!

wow what a gem! we had a really beautiful stay with Alison. The views were unbeatable, the swimming was divine, we ate like kings and loved hearing about Alison's colorful life. we saw an incredible array of bird life and watching the otters swim up and down the bay was a real treat. her spot is really special. your stay in Uganda is incomplete without a stop over on Bulago Island.

I had a wonderful stay! The place was exceptionally clean and well-maintained, making it feel very comfortable and welcoming. Lawrence, the host, was incredibly responsive and attentive, ensuring all my questions and needs were promptly addressed. Grace, the caretaker, was equally fantastic, providing friendly and thoughtful assistance throughout my stay. Overall, a great experience—I’d definitely stay here again!

Wunderbare Gastgeber, angenehme familiäre Atmosphäre, sehr schönes Haus mit vielen Annehmlichkeiten, die wir nutzen durften. Das Zimmer und das Badezimmer waren sehr komfortabel. Die Absprachen waren unkompliziert. Wir haben uns über die gesamten vier Wochen lang sehr wohl bei Jane und Andreas gefühlt und können sie rundum empfehlen.
