Was the 10-hour round trip worth it? Absolutely, without a doubt! Even though the weather wasn't ideal, it only added to the charm of this beautiful cabin—honestly, we felt like we were in a cozy winter wonderland. I can't think of a single negative moment from our stay. Even our cats would agree. Alison and James have truly created something special here, and their attention to detail made this one of the best Airbnb experiences we've ever had. Not to mention all the incredible visits we got from the local wildlife. Communication with Alison was seamless, which truly helped ease our nerves about visiting a new place while navigating through challenging weather conditions. We’re already looking forward to coming back and experiencing the treehouse in all its glory (hopefully without the freezing rain next time!). Thank you, Alison and James, for making our stay unforgettable!

Very private and beautiful location. Cabin full of charm,functional and well appointed. Hot tub, sauna,wood burning fireplace make you feel like you are at a private spa. Lots of wild life so please watch your dog's .

Amanda is a wonderful host. From pet friendly salt in the driveway to responding to our message in a matter of minutes, she went over and beyond to help us resolve a small issue that we encountered. She made sure that we enjoyed our stay, which we did thanks to her. We will be back for sure!

We loved our stay and would highly recommend the property. It was a beautiful location on the lake with a hot tub and a view. The rooms were warm. The kitchen was stocked with all the elements we could need. We forgot ice and found some ready to go. We enjoyed the winter stay for a few nights and found that we had everything we needed to rest as planned. Every amenity we could need was included. We even found ourselves in late-night need of a toothbrush and there was one available to us! Thanks for thinking about all the details! Getting there and into the property (even as late as we did) was easy, thanks to quick host responses and details with pictures provided. Thank you for a great communication! We enjoyed seeing at least 3-4 deer on the way in and out of the private roads - it was a special treat for us. Thanks for everything, we enjoyed our stay and it was exactly what we needed.

This place is so cute! the perfect winter getaway. Jessica was very gracious with check out during a storm, it really put our minds at ease. We really want to see this place in the summer, so we already booked our dates!

My husband, baby, dog and I had a great stay! The cabin was very clean, and had everything you need. Comfortable bed, clean pool and trails near by. Celebrated Halloween on the weekend, all the kids were dressed up and they had trick or treating through the campsite. Everyone staff and other campers are all so friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Gorgeous cottage! 15 min drive to Callabogie ski hill. Our 2 small families stayed a weekend at Barre Cabin and we enjoyed every minute of it. It couldn't have been more comfortable - the beds/linens/pillows/furniture, temperature, amenities, etc. The layout worked perfect for us and the bedrooms are set up so nicely. We had so much fun both indoors and out! They had a tobogganing hill that even the cold weather couldn't keep us from! Very family friendly - my 1 year old was blown away by a little kid nook with toys and books. The hosts are just the best; going out of their way with sweet honey touches, super accommodating and lovely to message. We will definitely be back in summer - the view is breathtaking.

Great area, beautiful lake. Chris' cottages themselves were clean newly renovated and in great working order. Laundry facilities in the cottages and access to sharbot lake. L9ved it will definitely be back

Don's quaint, rustic cottage in a very private setting was just what we were looking for. It's perfect for a couple. For late October, the colours were still glorious, and the space was cozy. Don was very kind, and he even left a card and some treats in the fridge for us in honour of our anniversary. If you're looking to disconnect and find some tranquility, this is the place!

On a loué ce merveilleux chalet pour la semaine de relâche. Très spacieux et bien aménagé. Parfait pour un gros groupe. Beaucoup d’activités et de jeux sur place. Nos adolescents et leurs amis/es ont adoré. À quelques minutes des pentes de ski. Dîner et bière au Redneck Bistro - super! Bien apprécié la communication avec nos hôtes (mention spéciale à Sue). On compte y retourner, peu importe la saison. Merci!

We just finished a family ski getaway and staying at Adam's place was a highlight of the trip. The bedrooms were comfortable and roomy enough for adults with kids. The common area was spacious with comfy seating for groups and the kitchen was large, functional and well equipped to meet the needs of our family of 10 adults and their young kids. We loved the space, the games room and the sauna. Being a 5 minute drive to Calabogie Peaks was a convenient bonus. Adam and Sue were friendly, flexible, easy to deal with and very responsive. The welcoming basket was an unexpected surprise. We look forward to booking again next year. The main cabin and bunkie are lovely and provide the right environment for a relaxing stay in the Calabogie area. Highly recommended!

We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay at the cabin. The location is peaceful and very private with a stunning view of the lake. Our hosts were friendly and provided clear instructions on location. We hope to come back again!

This was the second stay at this cabin, lovely setting with all the amenities needed as well as prompt communication. I would recommend this cabin for those who like a restful stay in a quiet place. Loved watching the ducks and geese on the lake!

Cozy! The cabin was spotless and supplied with all the amenities one would need. Right on the water as advertised. The cabin faces west so we got to view two beautiful sunsets. Very quiet and the bed was comfortable. Would definitely rebook again for another getaway.

Beautiful property! Very private, right on the river, quite spacious. The cottage was clean and the first bnb I've been to where the pictures do not do it justice! There was lots of space and the location can't be beat. Lovely hosts as well. Heads up if you are going with kids...bring toys, boardgames, coloring etc. There weren't any extras like that there. Otherwise it's a really nice place.
