The retreat is a lovely tranquil spot in the Ottawa Valley. It is spacious and comfortable, with lots of big windows looking out on the surrounding countryside. The only close neighbours are the deer and the wild turkeys. Carol is a friendly and charming host and she responds right away to any requests. Highly recommended! I plan to return, any time that urban life gets to be too much!

Great long weekend stay! The lower cottage was clean and had a beautiful view. The property had a lot of activities and things to do. A lot of canoes/kayaks freely available. Marla was an attentive, responsive host. Would stay again!

Marla & her Eagle’s Nest cottage were super and we highly recommend them! We came for a family Ontario nature & lake getaway and left restored. Marla is a thoughtful host who was flexible and supportive without being obtrusive. Our elderly mum was able to navigate the property with her walker or cane and enjoyed the sandy beach access with clear water to swim and canoe. The place was very clean, fresh, and beautifully appointed with all the important modern conveniences for the kitchen- including an ice cream maker! Ample parking. Some mosquitoes as expected at dusk (would it be summer in Ontario without them?!)- bring bug dope if you are sensitive. Clean hot tub with free star-gazing. Hope to come back.

Marla’s place was perfect for us. It is a clean, spacious and welcoming house, with friendly and easy to reach staff. The large kitchen is amazing…every appliance you could possibly want, and often two of them! The bedrooms are comfortable and well thought out to accommodate a large or more intimate group depending on the bed layouts you choose. The living room and dining area provide generous space and seating. And five bathrooms. Wow! The lake and surrounding area are gorgeous. The deck and dock are spacious with lots of seating, and the beach is sandy and private. There is no shortage of things to do… kayaks, paddle boards, canoes, badminton, ping pong to mention a few, and beautiful country roads to walk, run, cycle or drive along. It was a 25 minute drive into Westport where we thoroughly enjoyed music at the Cove Inn, the winery, the brewery and of course the shopping. There’s something for everyone here. I heartily recommend Marla’s place!

We spent a girls weekend skiing at Calabogie Peaks Resort and stayed here. Five of us fit comfortably and it is super close to the hill making it easy to get to. It was a very bright space with good Wifi. We walked into Calabogie and went to the Redneck Bistro which is nice spot to eat and would be lovely in the summer with the outdoor patio. Our host was very responsive and he offers a lovely spot to stay. Thank you!

What a great place to stay, nice location on the water. Not a modern house, but the comfort and location make up for it. There was a musty smell, not sure if it was the moisture (its been so rainy) residual smoking smell or pets. The house was very clean otherwise. Natasha is very responsive with any questions and provided a binder with things to do and information on the area. Location is great for us, we are planning to stay next time in the area. Very convenient with travels with our dog. Easy check in and Out, good sleeps, recommend.

Very nice rustic cottage updated with modern conveniences. We had a relaxing and peaceful week, and my dog loved the lake. I especially liked the mounted moose and bear heads. ;-) Taina and Frank were fantastic hosts -- very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

We booked a last minute trip to Ashleys place the Aug. long weekend . The home and property was beautiful, very quiet and relaxing. Our pup had an amazing time stretching her legs on the large property. Host left us goodies for around the camp fire, very thoughtful . Will definitely return if the opportunity presents itself.

Wahou. J'hesiterais presque à laisser une bonne note afin d'éviter une trop grande popularité. Alors, non ce n'est pas un hôtel 5 étoiles et oui il y a des toiles d'araignées. Mais, c'est aussi cela qu'on vient chercher. La nature, le calme tout y est ! Le lac est magnifique. La plage privée... une vrai exclusivité. La maison est ultra bien équipée avec des éléments de qualité (BBQ Napoléon, plats Lagostina, etc.) Et Mélinda est super accueillante et très arrangeante. Quelle gentillesse de nous partager son bien. C'est tout simplement la meilleure location Airbnb que nous avons fait à date.

Beautiful location! It is private with excellent swimming (rocky bottom), spectacular sunsets and great fishing off the dock. We really enjoyed having use of the boats too. Lots of grass for kids to run around and nice fire pit. Cottage is rustic and cozy. We had a wonderful stay.

Excellent accommodations for A larger crowd. There were 6 of us and we each had our own very comfortable bedroom including comfortable beds!! We were only there for a weekend wedding so can’t speak for surrounding area. Perth was close by though…about 10 mins drive. The home was very unique. Loved it. Outside garden and Balcony great!

This cottage is just a perfect place to relax and enjoy the outdoors and the nature. The cottage is superb with a huge deck looking onto the lake with lots of room to comfortably dine outdoors, extra fridge in the shed for all the drinks, a fire pit just in front of the lake and many water toys to enjoy the lake. By the way the lake is very quite, clean, and is ideal for swimming. The cottage had everything you would need for a comfortable stay - it is fully equipped as described in the listing. The 5 bedrooms on the second level are super cozy with comfortable mattresses and plenty of pillows and extra blankets. The hosts were very nice, accommodating and very responsive to all of our inquiries. Overall, our family had a perfect stay and we wish we could have stayed longer, but hopefully we will come back again!

I would recommend Magali’s place, it is a nice bright spacious home with comfortable beds and many amenities. Magali was always responsive and her home impeccable, we would go back.

Janice and Garry were kind and accommodating hosts. From a welcome note on the door through to having some surprises out for the kids, they made our stay very enjoyable. They were also very responsive throughout the booking process. The home itself is a converted old stone church. Very unique and infused with charm. It has everything you need including comfortable beds, an equipped kitchen and a large living space. It was perfect for our family and I'm sure we'll be back.

We loved staying at Twelvetrees! The trails were awesome, the scenery beautiful, and the house is bigger on the inside! One of the things that stood out was the short door to the master bedroom. It made me feel like Alice in wonderland! There was plenty of room for everyone, so much to explore, and the hostesses were very understanding and responsive to our questions. The hardest part was finding it on the map, but once we found it, everything was pretty straightforward. We are definitely considering going to this location again!

Lovely cottage right on the water. Very spacious with everything you need for a few days break from everything. Can't wait to book another stay!

Once again we had a wonderful time. The place is beautiful, the grounds are well kept and this year since the river was running high we spent a lot of time swimming. We’ll be back!

My few days in the Dollhouse and on the property was absolutely beautiful! Nature is right at the door with tranquility and a calm atmosphere which is amazing. A magical place that I'd definitely return to... The horses are wonderful as well the ponds that are serene to sit by. Loved the foggy look in the mornings with the horses and also deer in the meadow. Carefree environment with amazing hosts🙂 The Dollhouse was a cozy and relaxing stay!
